We paid a very high price and expected a pleasant stay. The stay was really excellent. The problems started at check out and continued from there. First, they wanted to charge us for a bottle of wine that was drunk by those who were in the room before us. Second, after we left the place they decided that we had taken some part of the phone that was in the room and charged our credit card. Needless to say, we did not take any such part. The feeling is that they are constantly trying to charge you for all kinds of things you didn't do. You feel that you are being blackmailed. I am not interested in staying at a hotel where the guest is made to feel that he is not trusted. This is definitely not the level of service we expected from such a hotel.

Our junior villa was comfortable (great aircon, comfortable bed, equipped kitchenette, closet space, clean!) and spacious with lots of natural light and privacy overlooking the ocean. We loved relaxing in our private mini pool! We appreciated the cheesecake treats, too :) We were completely blown away by the quality of the on-site restaurant - the included breakfasts were outstanding and sooooo much food! And the dinners were so mouthwateringly delicious we never ate dinner anywhere else on the island! The hotel and restaurant staff were all exceptionally accommodating and friendly. We cannot wait to come back!

You do have to make a reservation for breakfast and sometimes on the morning of, I'd wished we'd either booked it earlier or later. But this is really minor and I understand why a reservation is needed - their breakfast is a production and well worth making your reservation time! We also thought we'd be able to see the ocean view while in our mini pool, but it's so low all we could see was the grass directly in front of our room. We were mildly bummed at first, but again, incredibly minor and could've just been our room no 1. We still very much enjoyed our mini private pool!

A wonderful stay at Sul Villas. The breakfasts are to order and fantastic. So much choice with high end ingredients. Coffee was really good. We ate in their restaurant and would highly recommend it. Rooms are spotless with crisp linen and views to die for. Pools and sunbathing areas very relaxing. The staff go about their business with big smiles and the warmest welcome. Loved it.

Everything was perfect - the staff, location, food. We loved the stunning view from our villa, the jacuzzi, the hot pool with a waterfall and the beautiful wooden furniture in the whole building. I wish we could stay longer.

Views and location were nice.

The staff is terrible. Very rude. We came with our family and friends for our wedding weekend. They charged us for extra nights we didn’t use and we’re very unpleasant. Unfortunate to spend so much money and organize everyone’s stay at such a wonderful real estate only to have management ruin the weekend.

Gorgeous property, kind and accommodating staff, central location. The infinity pool and expansive view is even more stunning than in photos. Outdoor area is well furnished with beautiful design. We especially loved spending time in the indoor pool and jacuzzi in the evening. The staff were so kind and warm. I highly recommend— highlight of our Azores trip

The private hot tub in the chalet room was exceptional!!

The view during the morning is amazing. It's nice that they have a car parking because its a little away from the city, that's a plus. I've stayed in a Villa, the size of the villas are huge, definitely a place to stay more than a few days.

It would be nice if they could increase the temperature of the private pool, just 2ºC would be enough.

Superior in so many ways. Breakfast was made more delicious because of the view: sunlight hitting the church on the distant, rocky shore; waves breaking on the rocks below. Smiles and friendliness from the entire staff.

No improvement necessary -- we loved this place.

It had a beautiful view, the villa was spacious and well-decorated, and we felt taken care of; breakfast and dinner were delicious, and staff was always attentive.

What an incredible room with amazing sea views. Great little studio with a little kitchenette. Parking is available (and safe) right in front of each villa. Breakfast is good and access to the gym & jacuzzi & pool is right there (even in winter!). Very well located, right 15min from Ponta Delgada and within 30 to 45 minutes from anywhere on the island (as long as you've got a rental).

Got to be honest. Breakfast was a bit of a nightmare. The food is super nice but the process is extremely slow (quite painful when you want to get going in the morning). You got to book breakfast time the day before, once seated, it takes 5 to 10 minutes for your order to be taken, and then there is a 30-minute WAIT before your breakfast is on the table which means that your breakfast time is, every day, at least 1hour long. There should be either a buffet service or a pre-order the day before so that when you get to the table you can get to eating. Also, the minibar/fridge offers some 15€ wine but wine glasses are literally 50 cents hard plastic glasses. Any 1€ IKEA wine glass would be 10 times better.

The staff was attentive, kind, super friendly. The restaurant has a great and ample menu and the food is really excellent served by Rui, a wonderful waiter! The Prime Villa room has the most amazing balcony and view overlooking the sea, church and cliffs along with a jacuzzi. The balcony is also completely private. They baked and gifted us a gluten free cake for our birthday as a surprise!

The room could have had some floor lamps or lower lights. The ceiling light can be too harsh.
