Ótima localização, apartamento espaçoso com comodidades modernas, vistas fantásticas e anfitrião atencioso. Ideal para explorar Lyon.

Loved the location! It was very hot and the fans helped a bit, but it would be nice if there was air conditioning. The one negative was the general cleanliness. Just from walking on the floors, our feet were completely black on bottom.

The location is perfect, one block from the Saône and a the wonderful open market of Saint Antoine. The owner is very gracious and accommodating. We did not find the instructions for the TV, nor the remote control for the existing air conditioning. The apartment gets very warm and the street is very noisy at night so opening the four large windows on the street is not an option at night.
We made it work with the multiple fans and enjoyed our stay very much.

Cannot beat the location in Lyon. Beautiful apartment with room to spread out and nice kitchen in which to cook. We loved it. No air conditioning, though you can open beautiful windows and get a nice breeze. Would love to stay again!

We had a lovely time! Our host was very prompt with responses and she was able to get us early entry into the Apt., which was fantastic after our overnight flight. The space was clean and we loved being centrally located. The views of the street from the windows were very special.

Great apartment in the heart of Lyon. A 16th century building with charm and all the needed modern conveniences. We would stay again the next time I am in Lyon.

An excellent place to tour attractions in Lyon. You are above a pedestrian street full of restaurants. Less than a 10 minute walk to Old Lyon. Quick access to mass transit.

I stayed here for three nights while introducing my friend to wonderful Lyon. Everything is within walking distance. As with all old buildings, the apartment is not without its quirks. We enjoyed the place, nonetheless. Marie was very quick to get back to us with requested information.

You can’t beat the location of this apartment. Easy walk to everywhere. When you’re ready to block out the hustle and bustle from the walking street below, just close up the windows and relax.
Communication with the host was great, very responsive and friendly.
We took off one star because the bed in the master bedroom needs an upgrade, both the mattress and the bedding. By the second night both of us were struggling to sleep and looking for ways to add padding to the mattress and find different pillows. Nothing major, but notable.

This apartment has large rooms and the living-kitchen-dining room has high ceilings and lots of natural light. Bedrooms are dark and good for sleeping. No air conditioning, just fans. We used the fridge, washing machine, toaster and Nespresso, all in good working order. Excellent location, right in the middle of the many casual restaurants in the middle of the 2nd arr. Short walk to Place desk Jacobins and Place Bellecour from where many tours leave. Access was easy and Marie was very helpful and responsive. We had a lovely visit.

We stayed 4 nights in Lyon and had a great time. The apartment is right in the heart of Lyon and within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, and shops. The apartment was lovely and clean and well situated. We would definitely come back to Lyon!

The apt is as described, and the space is great with four big windows for perfect light! The apt was situated in a great location, great restaurant just downstair, we ate there 2x's. Couple of coffee cafe's near by to experience the French bakes was a plus. A nice walk to the Old Lyon just beautiful.
We had abit of issue with the lockbox, but this was resolved and our stay at Marie's place was very nice. I highly recommend.

The flat/apartment is above a restaurant and the listing says there is air conditioning. It broke some time in the past year. We left after 4 hours and went to a hotel.

Situated right above an alley street of cafe’s and restaurants, this clean, beautiful property is a treat…close to shopping, grocery, bakeries. Secure underground parking can be found a short distance away. Great communication and friendly reception. A wonderful experience!

We spent 8 wonderful weeks in Marie's apartment (May-June 2023). I don't think we could have had a better experience.
We were met by the agent, at the appointed time. She helped enormously with taking our luggage (2 x 20 kg) up the 30 or so steps of the (wide, stone) spiral staircase to the 2nd floor. The living room is large, bright, well appointed, as is the kitchen. We did not use the oven or dishwasher, nor did we use the heating or a/c. Very good TV, very fast WiFi connection ...
The bathroom is quirky, up a short staircase, with a good shower. The toilet is on the same level as the bedrooms & living room.
The living room has four big windows overlooking Rue Mercière, which is the busiest restaurant street in Lyon (every building has a restaurant of some sort), but with very efficient double glazing on the front windows, we could either have just a slight background buzz, or open the windows to enjoy the noise and bustle from the street. The street can be very noisy very late in the night and early morning, but the main bedroom is at the back, overlooking an internal courtyard, so is very quiet.
The overall location is ideal, at the centre of the main part of the Presqu'île (i.e. between Place des Terreaux and Place Bellecour, very close to the market on Place Saint-Antoine, and just across the Passerelle du Palais-de-Justice to Vieux Lyon.
Thank you Marie,

Great location on the peninsula in Lyon. Close to the river with a great outdoor market. On the street with lots of restaurants, close to some great boulangeries and cafes. Really enjoyed our stay here.

We very much enjoyed our 2 month stay in Lyon this summer of 2022. We initially chose this apartment due to its prime location on Presqu’Isle, the 2 bedrooms, and the air conditioning (since it was after all mid-summer). We were able to walk to nearly everywhere in the city, including the central train stations Part-Dieu and Perrache. Check in and orientation upon arrival at the apartment was simple and easy. The apartment is very large, and the split bathroom and toilet room were also much appreciated. The apartment WiFi also worked great. Our VRBO Host Marie immediately responded to any questions or requests that we had. The air conditioning unit did not work, which was disappointing since this summer in France was extremely hot. Hopefully that problem will be resolved ASAP for future guests. So, we had a great time and hope to maybe return to Lyon some time again in the future!

We travelled to Lyon for a 3 month stay and Marie's apartment was well-suited to our needs. It is a walkup apartment with 2 flights of stairs up a winding staircase, on a fairly busy restaurant street. We have young children and we found it was a great space where nothing was too precious and breakable and everything was very comfortable: Dinnerware and glassware sets are eclectically cobbled together and mixed, and the towels were of many different sets but there were so many of them! It worked very well for us. Beds were good and comfortable to sleep on (including the baby crib available) and the kitchen, while very small (half size fridge and mini oven) was well equipped to cook different meals. We had to shop for food frequently due to small storage space for food, but it was convenient that the fresh produce market along the Saône is literally right around the corner from the apartment daily, Tue-Sun. Surprisingly, unlikely North America, the fresh produce markets are less expensive than grocery stores, so it was very convenient to shop every other day for our needs.
The apartment also had several "bonus" items we weren't expecting that were a pleasant surprise: hair dryer, shopping cart, umbrellas, etc. We also ended up leaving men's hair cutting clippers there too so they have been added to the amenities! It was well equipped for a longterm stay and easily accessible to the heart of the peninsula. A quick walk to the Cordeliers metro stop, Jacobin's Fountain, Bellecour, etc.
I will say that although the street below is quite active in the evening and wee hours, the noise was contained to a reasonable volume within the apartment when the windows were shut and the apartment is well constructed such that the bedrooms are not noisy in the least (being futher back in the apartment). We had a wonderful trip and Marie was very responsive when we texted her with any needs. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This apartment could not have been in a better location! It was right in the middle of everything and where we wanted to be!! It was nice, neat and very clean. We loved the little kitchen and used all of the appliances and they worked very well. This apartment was truly like staying in a SOHO loft. The 2 bedrooms were separate and very private. Our kids slept in one room and we slept in the other. The WC was just what is needed. The shower was modern and worked well. The washer/dryer was great and worked well. The only tiny drawback was the hallway on the main level is shared with the restaurant. It is a little rustic, but we had no problem at all with the hallway or the restaurant. They were good neighbors! Overall, I would stay here again and recommend this apartment to a family of 4-6.

Great location on rue mercieres , apartment very comfortable and spacious , easy to shop and cook or eat out. Bedrooms very quiet. Would recommend to friends who want to stay in a lively area in comfort.

I stayed at this apartment with 3 friends during the Euro’s and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is fantastic apartment, very spacious and clean with a great living and kitchen area. There was two good size bedrooms and even with the Euros going on you couldn’t hear anything when the windows were closed. In addition the bathroom was very good with a great shower. The apartment couldn’t have been in a better location, located on the Rue Merciere which is the best street in Lyon for restaurants with plenty choices on offer. It was less than a 10 minute walk to the Old town and Place Bellecour.
If I was to visit Lyon again I would definitely want to stay in this apartment again and highly recommended this apartment to others.

This is a great apartment, very spacious with a superb living and eating area and decent kitchen. One huge bedroom, another decent sized double, and a very good bathroom with lovely shower. In addition, the location in a buzzy restaurant street makes it very convenient and fun: we travelled with my 2 year old niece and so didn't go out at night, just got some pizzas or burgers in from a few restaurants a couple of doors down. 10 mins walk from the old part of town, and 2 mins from the lovely market on Quai St Antoine, and the other great shops there - brilliant cheese shop, wine shop, bio, fruit and veg. 20 mins to Tete d'Or with the zoo etc, and also close to very good shopping area. Only thing for tea-obsessed Brits to note is that there's no kettle - which is very usual for a French apartment, so just stick a pan on or make some coffee in the machine! No dramas. Will definitely rent this place again if we can.

We stayed in this apartment for 2 thoroughly enjoyable months during Summer 2014, whilst I attempted to improve my French and both of us experienced life in Lyon, our favourite city in France.
The apartment is very centrally located in the “presqu’ile”: the heart of this beautiful city, between the Rhone and Saone rivers, in the desirable 2nd arrondissement. It is a charming area, replete with reminders stretching back to late medieval and renaissance times.
The apartment overlooks Rue Merciere, the most lively restaurant street in Lyon. Most places we wanted to visit were easily walkable: a 5 minute stroll across the Saone River would find us in the Old City and heading elsewhere, we could be in Place Bellecour or Place des Terreaux in 10 minutes.
We found the owner and her family very responsive and helpful. After we were first shown around the flat we had little cause to contact them. Everything worked as it should have. Like many travellers, we collected too much “stuff” over our holiday and had to send some back to Australia, by mail. Unfortunately we had problems with the postal systems and a couple of parcels went astray. We only discovered the sorry details when we were back in Australia and had to then try to sort it out and recover our parcels from the other side of the world. Marie was very helpful in this. When one of the parcels was “returned to sender” (ie sent back to the apartment in Lyon), Marie collected it, repackaged it and sent it on to us, ensuring we finally received it. She also forwarded on to us a cheque for compensation which was paid by “la Poste”.
We thoroughly recommend the apartment.

This unit very neglected. With the filthy smelly street entrance through the service area, be prepared to be unimpressed. Awkward spiral stairs and questionable security. Poorly arranged hand me down uncomfortable furnishings. Washer did not work, freezer out of order, internet woes, dowdy cleanliness, warped flooring, plus complete jumble of dishes, linens and lighting. Perhaps worth half the price? After 20 trips to France we know there are better choices to be found elsewhere. We felt mislead!

We stayed in this flat for 4 nights and it was fantastic! We are a family of 4 with 2 kids. The green room had plenty of space so each child could sleep in their own bed. The rest of the flat is lovely as you can see in the photos and very spacious. The shower is better than most hotels! The location is very unique with proximity to shops, restaurants, the morning market, an ice cream store across from the main entrance and several playgrounds for the kids. Marie-Helene was excellent and promptly responded to our emails when booking the apartment and arranging our arrival. We had a lovely stay, will recommend this apartment to our friends and will definitely rent it again if we find ourselves back in Lyon.

What a great flat! Three of us stayed in this roomy apartment in the very heart of the restaurant district. We were a short walk over the bridge from the old city center.
Grocery stores and bake shops were also very close. Marie was very responsive to any inquiry or request, she is truly a wonderful hostess. Lyon is beautiful and quite friendly.
We would highly recommend this apartment.

This apartment was just excellent. From the service and prompt responses of the owner, to the well stocked kitchen, to the comfortable rooms, this apartment was an excellent choice for our family. The location can't be beat - it's no more than 10 minutes to the old city, or any other neighborhood of interest.
I would say the pictures and information in the listing were accurate. I can't think of anything that we needed but didn't have. The internet also worked well.
When we first arrived we had trouble finding the place, and a friend of the owner who was meeting us came down to the street to find us. They were very friendly from the beginning and although we didn't need them during our stay, I'm sure if anything had happened they would have helped out right away.
If we come back to Lyon, we would hands down stay here again.

We stayed here for a week in June 2012, party of 3 adults and 3 small children. The flat is located in the epicenter of Lyon. The location just cannot be better. Flat is accessed via a steep staircase but only 1 flight up. We left our buggy in the building courtyard with no issues. Flat is clean with modern furnishings and a well appointed kitchen (albeit with electric hob instead of gas). Bedrooms are good size. This is not a quiet location, but double-glazed windows shut out 90% of the street noise. Might be an issue in high summer as flat is not super-well ventilated but we did not find this to be a problem. The flat does not have a bathtub which means children bathe in shower or in the (ample) kitchen sink like our youngest. Nothing to complain about the flat. Morning market every day except Mondays only 1 block away was great and much of Lyon is either walking distance or a easily navigable bus/metro ride away. Very good value for money. We did not eat at the restaurants on Rue Merciere themselves but went a bit farther afield. We were amply rewarded for stepping out only 10 minutes away for world-class restaurants without London/Paris expense.
