Perfect for 2 people. Kitchen well equipped for cooking. Great location for several beach options. Very pleased with our stay.

This is an attractive authentic group of Cape cottages in the woods at the edge of a marsh. Ithis cottage is tiny; I think more than one person or one couple would be a squeeze. It was about right for myself and my two cats. Like similar Cape properties, it is best enjoyed when temperatures are moderate.

Salt box is set up for 2-3 people max - lots of room for two. The area was quiet, beautiful and peaceful. The cottage was very clean and organized. Kitchen was stocked with enough utensils, pans, etc. to make great seafood dinners on the porch! Local fish markets are GREAT. The Boathouse Fish market was THE BEST! We were here in August, and it was plenty cool with many windows and ocean breeze - fans were good enough for cool air when needed. We didn't need to use the AC at all. Some ants and other bugs here and there but are natural when in a wooded area - definitely not a problem. Marsh smell mentioned in other review was a non-issue even at low tide. We did not buy a visitor beach pass due to high cost and had a great time on Mayo Beach, free and ample parking! The cottage is very well situated - easy access to lower and outer cape towns. Lots to do in Ptown nearby. We rec the Ptown carnival in August! One of our favorite things to do was the DRIVE IN movies, a mile or so down the road! That was a blast - go early and hang out with people there. Super fun! Lots of great restaurants - loved Van Rensselaer's restaurant for dinning exp and great food. We also LOVED Joe's Sub and Cone for lunch, take out - local feel and good seafood too. Thanks to Danielle for her responsiveness with any questions! Absolutely no complaints - loved it!

This property is very charming and the proximity to the Cove is amazing. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable week.
Danielle provided great communications and proved to be a very responsive hostess. We had a very slight issue and she responded immediately with a focus on ensuring our vacation was not interrupted.

Quaint cottage in a quiet, pleasant area right off Route 6. Danielle was super quick and thorough in her responses when I asked a couple of questions pre-trip. If I were the owner, I'd spend a few hundred bucks and make a couple of changes to the listing for renters comfort and clear knowledge. First, I had no idea I had to provide my own sheets & towels. Turns out you had to click on a certain tab I missed for that info. I had to go out and buy sheets & towels that I don't need at home. I've been traveling the world for 5 decades and never have I had to supply my own sheets & towels. One small window air conditioner was useless on a 98 degree day unless you sat right in front of it. I would have a microwave & toaster oven in the breakfast nook. I'd spend the $4.95 and 10 minutes to install a toilet paper roll holder. The old wood floor is beautiful, but it needs to be reinforced or replaced. The "various soaps promised was 1/3 bottle of hand soap. I'd make it clear that the picture of the cove in the listing is not what you can see from the property. However, chairs at the back of the property were lovely. BBQ grill worked well. Bed was comfy and furnishes were all OK. I didn't water the flowers as requested because heavy rain was forecast on the day I was leaving, but I didn't mind being asked to water them. I stayed at a Cape VRBO last summer and the flowers were all withered and dead. Very unpleasant. Was glad to have been left instructions on how to get a beach sticker.

As soon as we walked into the cottage, it smelled of sewage and it was revolting. The cottage was sweltering and we had to install the AC unit ourselves and tape it in the best we could. The floorboard has cracks where you could see the ground, letting bugs in so we taped those up. The roof leaked when it rained making the place even smaller when we had to move the couch to avoid it getting wet. The futon cover was dirty and the stove pilot lights go out when the ceiling fan was on creating a safety hazard that we didn't notice for 2 days. There aren't many hooks that could have helped given its small size. The waterfront is tic infested so you really can't walk down there, we tried once and didn't go again. The online ad said there was coin laundry which is not on the premises but was a 20-minute drive to another town. There was a half role of TP, no paper towels or garbage bags were provided even though listed as amenities. We left halfway through our reservation and returned home. On the positive side, it allows dogs, it has a path across Rt 6 that was good for walks, and it's in Wellfleet. The cottage was otherwise clean, the porch was nice and the grill worked. We would not stay again.

Check in was easy. A bit of a trouble finding the turn off. Coming North on Rt 6, directly on the opposite side of the Shell Station is the paved road that is very short. Half way down is the white picked fence and a sign for Drummer Condo's. The cottage was clean and had room to move around. The deck was comfy as well. Kitchen was workable. Nice place to stay over all. And just a hop, skip and Jump to PB Boulangerie Bistro for morning nibblies!

Only complaint is that there was only one heating unit that we could find. But not really necessary.
One day of heavy rain, and it was dripping through roof.
We put a pot underneath to catch the water.

We love visiting Wellfleet and this cute cottage provided just what we wanted for this two-week trip -- comfort, convenience, and quiet. Views of Drummer Cove, conservation trails out back, close to CCRT, easy drive to beaches and kettle ponds, short trip to Wellfleet and other outer cape towns, wild turkeys wandering around. Kitchen had the basics and the grill worked well. Neighbors were close but friendly and quiet. Internet connection was sufficient for two adults who (alas) had sporadic work/meetings to attend to. If you appreciate the natural beauty and bountiful outdoor activities of Wellfleet and don’t need anything “extra”, this cottage on Drummer Cove is a great option.

The cottage is very basic. It was very clean when we arrived. The bathroom is updated, kitchen is very small but functional. We managed to cook our meals. The cottage could use an update to its furniture but it was not a major issue for us as we spent a lot of time out. Bed was comfortable. AC was good to have as we were there on a very hot week. One thing that we had difficulty with is the bug screens. We tried to leave windows open on cooler days and nights but bugs managed to get in as some window screens on older windows do not fit well and there are gaps. We managed by using AC and closing windows. Overall none of this was a major issue and we enjoyed both the location and our stay. We are grateful to the host for sharing her home with us. The location is perfect for exploring the island and enjoying it.

Great mini vacation
Loved our stay in this nice clean salt box cottage. Perfect for 2-3 people. Good location to Provincetown, light houses, amazing beaches and other towns on the Cape. Lots of good restaurants, beach stores and a drive-in movie theatre that also holds a flea market on Sat/Sun. Easy to find side road across from the Shell station. Look forward to a return rental. We had an awesome time in Wellfleet! The property is a very small camp style cottage, not much for amenities, no microwave or washer or dryer, but you have to expect that for this kind of place. My husband and I were comfortable staying here and the mattress was plenty comfortable. We did very little cooking, mostly used the grill or ate out or brought back steamers, fish and lobster from in town. The neighborhood is quiet and what neighbors we saw were super friendly and helpful, as were all the locals. We loved shopping in town and kayaking, taking in the beauty of the harbor, salt marshes and more. Best day was sailing on the harbor to Jeremy Point with Capt Curly. Overall a wonderful time away!

Old Time Cape Cod Cottage
The quintessential old time Cape Code cottage. Excellent location in South Wellfleet that is close to everything.

Disorganized
Cottage is very small. That said, a little attention to adding shelves and hooks would help a lot. We left our luggage on the sofa to use as a closet. Also, tv is in the bedroom?

Nice little cabin
It just a right size for a short stay away from home and close to many things that we can go and do while there.

I like to leave everything better than how I found it and dif
Close to beaches. They are never crowded. Laconte is private unfortunately. But if traffic is light, he’ll let you on. Near provincetown, truro, for fun; Orleans for necessities. Rte 6 can be treacherous: patience

Rustic and relaxing
We had a lovely week at Drummer Cove and the cottage was just as advertised. Small and cozy with an old time cabin feel, it was just what we anticipated! The kitchen had what we needed to prepare meals and there were some good sharp knives. The bed was quite comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping in the quiet surroundings. (We brought our own sheets and pillows.) The bathroom shower was fine and no shortage of hot water. We enjoyed the deck and the marsh view.
The cottage is close to the Cape Cod Rail Trail- great for biking/ running/walking and the dog loved it! We also found it fun to explore the neighborhood near the cottages while walking our dog, and enjoyed walks on dog -friendly Marconi Beach; no admission on weekdays after Labor Day. We found great meals Wellfleet and there were nice hiking trails all around the area.
This is terrific location- easy access to Provincetown and a variety of outdoor activities.
September was the perfect get away at the right time of year with moderate temperatures.

Quaint little cottage just off RT 6. Good for two people. Pet friendly as is all of Wellfleet. We will be back!

Great retreat for nature lovers.
I was very pleased. The pictures and description are accurate. I was there in September so it was very quiet which is what I wanted. There were some short woodsy trails nearby which was very nice for walking my dogs. Easy to jump on Rt. 6 and venture out. The sun sets over the cove. The owner was friendly, responsive, and helpful. As far as the other reviews, the smell was likely low tide, not the house. I only smelled it once but the smell of low tide is no bother to me. The house had no smell, not even of must/mold. As for the spiders mentioned, there were a couple of harmless daddy long legs in the sink after a day but I had left dishes for the am so it was my own doing and not a big deal. It's not an air-tight space. It is an old-school charming cottage and has all that an average-size person or couple needs, is nicely decorated, and is adequately stocked (including some beach chairs, local maps, and books). There was wifi, AC, and little heaters that removed any fall chill. No microwave, but no beeping either which was nice, and I adapted back to pre-microwave days with ease. Bring sheets and towels.

Rustic fun
Had A great time And was sorry to leave. Communication with Danielle was excellent. She was responsive and easily assessable. We found for the dates we needed that the price was reasonable and we were happy with the value compared to everything else that was out there. Some people might find this type of lodging too rustic-I imagine this is not for everyone. For us city folk it was as close to camping As we are comfortable with. Wish I was there now

Wellfleet
We enjoyed our stay. Just a couple of comments:
1. The key left on the table for us was NOT the key to the cottage. Fortunately I checked it before we went out, and eventually found the correct key hanging up near the front window. Otherwise we would have been stuck indeed.
2. We had a rough time finding the place. The listing should indicate that it's on a side road, not rte. 6 as shown. Even the South Wellfleet Post Office couldn't help. Anyway, after we settled in, it was good. You might consider a new mattress. The old one has seen better days.
Thanks,
Henry and Debby

Just as advertised...
Great place to stay in upscale Wellfleet on the down low. The location is hard to beat - only steps down to the cove where you can take in beautiful sunset views and a walk (when the tide is not high), CCRT right there, short jaunt to the beach, and only minutes from Wellfleet restaurants and the pier.

Quaint, rustic charm
My husband and I, along with our dog absolutely adored our stay at this cottage. It was close to everything but yet the area was quiet. Wellfleet is a charming town with so much conservation land. There was a conservation trail with wonderful views of the cove to walk our dog on right in the complex. The weather was not always warm enough to sit on the deck to enjoy the cove view but we still had a wonderful view of the cove from the dining table. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Being the end of September we had a few chilly nights but the space heaters provided were great to keep the cottage comfortable. My husband and I have no experience with gas stoves and inadvertently blew out the pilot lights to the range. Danielle was readily available and so kind and helpful when we called.
We spent most of our time at Lecount Hollow Beach (Maquires Landing) which was a less than five-minute drive. The beach was beautiful with very few people around. You can walk for miles and just enjoy the ocean, dunes, and watch the seals just off the shore. Such a relaxing time. We can't wait to go back!

small, cozy, well-equipped, peaceful
We enjoyed our stay in the little saltbox cottage by the cove. The space is small but well equipped with a comfortable bed, a cute little porch/dining area and a tiny but very serviceable kitchen for visitors like us who prefer to eat in and experiment with great seafood recipes! It is difficult to find--don't trust Google maps--but Danielle was very accessible by phone and gave us good directions. And the little "neighborhood" of cottages is dog-friendly!! We would definitely stay again!

Rustic is fine but this rental is not acceptable
I wish I had been forewarned about the bathroom. It smells so bad, I had to buy air freshener immediately. Didn’t do much. Overpowering and unpleasant. As for the rest, my husband and I could easily have adjusted to a mini-kitchen with no counter space; we could have survived with just a small sofa for sitting comfortably; we even could have survived the porto-potty style shower but...we left before our departure date. Don’t rent unless you have tolerance for bad smells. One other thing if you do decide to rent, this cottage/condo area is on a small road with no name, parallel to Route 6. Call Danielle and get specific directions before you go.

Great location. Clean, rustic cottage close to the bike trail.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We really enjoyed our stay. Nice quiet community.

cabin stay/area
Very clean. No bugs. Quiet. Many cabins are privately owned and occupied in the little village. close to beach (skip the $95 sticker for the car)...walking/biking distance. Very close to bike trail. Fully equipped/stocked kitchen (not food)...knives, tools, stove, Mr Coffee pot, toaster, etc. No microwave. BBQ grill is handy and clean. We like to replace paper goods as, apparently do others and host. Nicely decorated. Simple.
Close to Orleans for grocery/clothing shopping, Truro for wine tasting, chocolate, spices and interesting stationery; P-town for dining, shopping for fun, walking, people, Ferry to Boston. Many local restaurants in Wellflleet within a few close miles. Highly recommend Van Rensselaers (1Mile)

Cozy and quiet
The cottage is very comfortable for two plus a small dog. We were delighted that the kitchen was well appointed. Maybe could use a strainer for pasta?...if there is one, we didn't find it. (We donated a can opener since the ones that were there didn't work) We cooked and ate in frequently, and pretty much found everything we needed! Stove works well, frig is a nice size.
Bedroom is quiet, and the entire community -- despite its proximity to Route 6 -- is quiet. The bed is comfortable!
Nice to sit on the porch and see the cove. The umbrella makes it easy and comfortable to sit outside in sun at lunch, without baking!
Only one minor disappointment: the whole cabin smelled like cigarette smoke, including the AC (which thankfully we ended up not needing to use). Didn't realize this wasn't a non-smoking property, but oh well! After a few days of cooking our own food, and lighting some scented candles, the cigarette smell dissipated.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable! Would recommend to friends.
Thanks!!!

I loved it!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The property is as advertised and very well equipped. Would like to have had a microwave and the tv in the living area. Maybe the TV could be on a wall mount bracket that extends out from the wall similar to how a RV uses space.

A wonderful tucked away quiet retreat amongst a beautiful well loved town of Wellfleet.
