It was clean and quiet and a neural location for West Maui adventures. We utilized the barbecues often with the ocean view while our food cooked! It’s not advertised with an ocean view, but from the lanai there is a decent view. There are three TV’s in this unit but not a one was turned on during our stay!

Our condo was excellent. Perfect spot right next to the koi pond and a short distance to the pool and ocean. We loved being on the bottom floor. The use of beach chairs and towels were convenient. Having ice ready in the freezer a plus! Everything we needed was there. The beds were very comfortable. We would love to come back and stay there again! Highly recommend.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been staying at Papakea for a couple weeks in the winter for over a decade with the exception of winter 2021 due to covid. We've stayed in several different units, we always enjoy our time and love this low density resort. This unit is fine, adequate, will do. It definitely has some deferred maintenance that is pretty disappointing with a unit in this price range(the stove is missing buttons, the towel rack in the master fell off the wall if you touched the towel on it). The appliances, finishes and furniture were likely part of the original "package" that could be purchased to furnish the unit and are very overdue for an upgrade. Will we be back to Papakea? YES! Will we rent this unit again? No. We moved to another unit (we added another week and this one was booked already) and for a lower rate have a signficantly upgraded unit.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were as described, and the host was great. The grounds were beautiful, and the location was great. We would definitely come back.

This was out 3rd trip to Papakea and this init was great. It met all of our expectations and having beach towels and chairs was great. We like to say closer to the water but loved having a ground floor unit. We would stay again.

We loved location and that we had beach stuff to borrow and that we were able to cook bkfast ourselves, lunch was easy but not to many bkfast options around

The rental was clean and comfortable in a beautiful location. Enough activities are offered right on/near the property that everyone was happy to stay right there. We walked the beach, had pickle ball tournaments, swam in the pool and ocean, snorkeled, tried a skim board, grilled supper, and watched sunsets happen. We enjoyed walking to the food trucks when we didn’t feel like cooking supper. Fabulous location we would visit again!

Clean a well appointed. Especially loved the play and pack and the bring on the ground floor. This home provided us with all that we needed. Loved it.

We enjoyed the private quiet property. We were not beach front which made it safe for our kids to play by the koi pond while breakfast was being made. Tina was prompt and responsive when we had any questions

We spent two weeks in unit J103 and our family had a great time. The main bedroom has a king size bed and lots of closet and drawer space for clothes and personal items. The second bedroom has two twin size beds, perfect for our kids. The kitchen is functional has lots of counter space. We ate outside almost every day on the lenai looking over the putting green, pool and ocean in the near distance. There is a flat screen TV for anybody who needs time out of the sun, and an air conditioning unit that kept the condo cool. We always love staying at Papakea and this unit didn't dissapoint.

We had a very nice visit, spent most of the time on the condo property watching whales. No issues with unit, love the grounds of Papakea, great for families.

Stayed here in the past. Very nice. Prices are climbing too fast and considering other properties or locations for future vacations.

Thank goodness for the floor fans, otherwise it would have been way too warm to stay in this unit. Also, the bedrooms back on to the parking lot and other tourists were not considerate and spoke very loud while going to their cars at 5 and 6 am! We have stayed at Papakea several other times and have been in units that have been much better. On a positive note, it was great being on the main floor!

This was a much needed vacation given the covid dilemma. Overall the unit was great lots of room to relax and the rooms were spacious. Our mother really enjoyed the beautiful view of the coie fish pond and being a very close walk to the warm hot tub and pool. The property was well kept. The property did not have any beach to walk but just a sort walk to the adjacent property there was a good stretch of beach to walk along. The only improvement I could recommend is to state in the listing the actual amount for the resort fee that is charged once checking in. It did state there was a fee but not the actual amount. Overall I would recommend this unit and location.

Appreciate the beach chairs and cooler!

We decided spontaneously to travel to Maui for the nine days leading into Labor Day and booked travel and lodging about 10 days before we departed. Surprisingly, this place just north of the Kaanapali Parkway was still available and at a very good price relative to what was left. It totally worked for our family of 5 with one of our kids using the sofa pullout. We didn’t need too large or luxurious as we planned on spending most of our time out and about or at the beach. It was a great base of operations for our end of summer vacation before sending the kids off to school.

I like the location of this rental. The property manager was great with communicating the details. We had a few minor issues but they came to fix the issues immediately. This place comes with 2 beach chairs, 4 beach towels, and 2 boogie boards. I would definitely rent with them again.

One of our favorite places on earth is lying on a beach chair at the sea wall at the Papakea Resort. The breeze and the breathtaking view are phenomenal!

Papakea J-103 was perfect! The unit is on the ground floor, which means that our back door opens right onto the grass and koi pond and it's just steps to the beach and pool. The unit was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed as far as pots and dishes (no food though, so bring everything you need, including salt and oil!). Plenty of towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, which was really great. Papakea is a comfortable resort with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We loved this unit and hope to come back!
