Very enjoyable, relaxing stay. Our dog loved it as well. The cabin had everything we needed and was very clean. Had to make a last minute change and our property manager was extremely accommodating. Would stay there again for sure.

Great spot to take your dogs for a walk and unwind by the river. Perfectly located between Lurray & Front Royal. Cabin has everything you need to relax and get away from life for a bit. Property is clean, well maintained, and help is only a message away if you should need assistance. They even have a river walk set up for the guests to help you unwind and enjoy the views along the Shenandoah river. In my opinion this property deserves more than 5 stars!

Loved it. Kitchen had everything we needed. Great having a screened in porch and a hot tub. The short walk down to the river was lovely. Would definitely go back!

My husband and I rented Walden for my birthday weekend. It was absolutely amazing! It was clean, quiet and so peaceful! We ate meals on the screened in porch, enjoyed the hot tub and spent a lot of time down at the river. The walk down to the river was beautiful! Love this place & can't wait to go back!!!

First, the pictures shown do not render the cabin justice. It is bigger and better than you think, and clean. Everything is there to enjoy a perfect time. Isolated, lots of wildlife (bunnies and dears grazing feets from the property), quiet, perfect. 10/10, i recommend if you need to get away from the stress of everyday life.

We spent four nights at this cabin in order to visit the Shenandoah National Park. The location was ideal, with easy access to the park from multiple entrances on the west side. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Derek was friendly, helpful, and responded quickly to questions. We walked down to the river several times to sit on the banks and listen to the many song birds in the area. Fireflies put on light shows for us at night. We enjoyed our stay and we have already recommended the cabin to some friends.

We really enjoyed coming out to Walden for the 4th of July! Great proximity to Shenandoah and beautiful scenery for us to enjoy. Very important to read the house rules beforehand and we did have to make some adjustments accordingly but nothing major! Just grab your sheets and towels and make a supply run to Luray and enjoy!

Wanted a quiet weekend getaway with my husband and this was the perfect place! The house was clean and comfortable! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This property offered a most outstanding place for us to stay and get away from it all. High points include the view from the hot tub, the wildlife viewing on the property and the most excellent access to the river. We definitely have this on our list of places to stay again.

Had so many plans for things to do in the area. Did none of them. Just took in the scenery from the porch and by the river. Well worth it.

This property was top notch. Absolutely loved it, even our golden retrievers had such a good time running around the property and playing fetch. Spending a nice sunny day down by the river was so relaxing and enjoying! We highly recommend the “Walden”!

Just what we were looking for! Celebrated my partner’s 40th birthday weekend. Beautiful property on the river-secluded and private. We watched deer in the field from the hot tub. Awesome views from this cabin. Close to hiking in Shenandoah. We did a few overlook and waterfall trails. Ate dinner at Watch & Warrant one night in Luray-yummy! Did the Lego figure puzzle while we were there! Great escape!

This was our second stay at Walden. The location is great and the cabin is clean with plenty of windows for light and a great breeze. Love having access to the river directly from the property.

It was exactly what we needed to escape.

We had a really nice time at this cabin by the Shenandoah's south fork. (We were in the area to hike in Shenandoah NP.) At the property, we walked by the river with our dogs and enjoyed the peacefulness and the setup very much. There are thoughtful touches everywhere, from a fire pit to comfortable chairs to sit in and watch the river go by. Owner was really responsive and helpful. A special place.

This cabin is everything its described to be and then some! The cabin was very clean and stocked with everything you need! It's roomy with beautiful views. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our anniversary weekend getaway! Would definitely be back and I have already recommended it so friends and family! Book this cabin....you will not be disappointed. P.S. As you're driving down the road to the cabin, the neighbors dogs do run up to your vehicle (as your driving). Totally harmless but scared us at first, as they ran along side us for a few seconds but then they backed off prior to pulling into the driveway.

We needed a place to relax for just two nights for a quick getaway. We found ourselves choosing to stay in more than go out! This cabin was clean, comfy, and provided us the relaxation that we needed. Hot tub was great and conveniently placed. We walked down to the water and enjoyed the view a few times. We even got visited by the sweetest doggo named Molly! :) Would definitely go back!

The cabin exceeded my expectations, and had everything I needed for a quick post-holiday retreat. Everything from the well-equipped kitchen, to the hot tub and fire pit, to the quiet, relaxed surroundings were just what I was looking for.

I've so enjoyed the solitude of a Walden winter that I returned a third time for six days. My dog and I love the peace and quiet, away from the city sounds, with little except the chirping cardinals in the big tree our front. The dog loves running in the fields down to the river two or three times a day. He's ever-hopeful of catching a deer, but that'll never happen! The cabin is just as I enjoyed before. I'm not familiar with the Chromecast set up and couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do, so just stuck to the "Harry & Megan" series on Netflix. I enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evening in the crisp air (no snow, unlike in 2020, which would have been perfect) to close out the day. There's a nice coffee shop called "Gathering Grounds" in downtown Luray, that I ate breakfast in twice. It's about 15 minutes away. Derek was immediately responsive when the power went out for the subdivision for a couple of hours during a rain/ice storm, contacting the power company, I believe. So three years running, I hope to make it a fourth in December 2023! Thanks! Neal

It was a great location surrounded by a field and adjacent to a calm river. We are kinda local and couldn’t vacation too far home so this spot was perfect. The house came with everything you’d need for a few days to include a hot tub. The house and property was clean. We loved the cabin and would return again for a weekend getaway
