An excellent base to explore Kangaroo Island the National Parks, walking trails, the wildlife and pristine beaches, wineries and cafes. It can be windy, but snug inside and great views over the protected native scrub reserve and out onto the bay.

Our family of four had the most amazing stay. The home is designed well for guests to enjoy the outlook and seaview from both the balcony and the lounge/ living area. We thoroughly enjoyed the visiting wildlife and the location is so peaceful. This beach house is well thought out and has everything you need. Perfect location for visiting the Island highlights such as Remarkable Rocks, Seal Conversation area and Admirals Arch. So good that we already are planning another visit.

The stay was very good. The location is exceptional and the facilities were good. The house was in fine order and included some extras, such as Foxtel and wifi. Overall I highly recommend.

Our family of four loved our stay at Oceanview. It was probably the best located house to stay in at Vivonne Bay with the beach just a walk down the steps and the jetty a short drive away. The communication with Ian and Ann was fantastic and they responded to messages promptly. The house was clean and exactly as described. We would definitely stay there again!

Very nicely kept property. Everything was there for the kitchen and bathroom. Beds comfortable. 3 bedrooms, one bathroom nice kitchen,loads of information and the view to take your breath away. Heaps of birds and wallabies below.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent property - perfect for our stay with grandparent and 3 kids. Good location for main attractions in southwest of island, lovely wildlife that comes to the door and full spec kitchen for making meals - including brand new Miele cooker/oven. Ian was excellent as a host and provided some great information and check-in experience.

It's our second time staying here. The best view. Bring carrots to feed the wallabies at dusk off the back porch. Nice clean place with everything you need.

We had a wonderful stay. Great view from the dining area, and the house well proportioned, with everything you could possibly need. The kids loved the wallabies who made a regular appearance each evening. Located so close to the beach! We found Vivonne Bay a good base to explore the island from.

Loved staying at Ocean View. It is a little piece of paradise. The perfect spot for exploring the island, the most incredible view, and all the luxuries of home. Our hosts communicated with us the whole time and made sure we were comfy. We have recommended Ocean View to many friends already.

Vivonne Bay is beautiful and this place makes that experience even more pleasurable with great views out over the bay. The house itself was very clean and well presented with a well equipped kitchen for anyone wanting to self-cater. The weather was a bit variable while we were staying, so it was nice to be able to hunker down in airconditioned comfort while the rain and wind did their best outside. Ian and Anne were the consummate hosts, checking with us via email and making suggestions about sightseeing options given the poor weather. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are keen to visit again. Amazing property, with beautiful ocean views and close contact with native wildlife this place is the ideal location to use as a base to explore the wonders of KI..and the views of the milky way at night are amazing!!! we had to reschedule our stay 4 times due to covid, the owners were completely understanding and flexible in the lead up up, and warm and welcoming on our arrival... couldn't have been happier with my interactions with Ian and Ann..we will definitely be looking to return to ocean view

Ocean View is excellently located. Its location overlooks the bushland onto the ocean. The property is constantly visited by beautiful birdlife and late afternoons the wallabies come out for a feed. Being so close to the beach we could easily access it for some brisk walks or to cast a lure. The home was extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped with all the necessities and had a great bbq on the deck. Its a great base for exploring the south of the island which includes Flinders Chase National Park. We also were able to do more adventurous activities such as toboganning the Little Sahara and kayaking the Harriet River or just relax. The hosts Ian & Ann provided us with very detailed informative information to make sure we made the most of our stay and were very helpful with any of our questions and or enquiries. Hope to be back soon!

Great location for the beach with a view

Perfect location for getting away from it all while being close enough to see all the attractions of Kangaroo Island. Short walk to the beach, wallabies visit in the afternoon and hose is equiped with everything you need. Hosts were super communicative.

Our Vivonne Bay Ocean getaway was just what my partner & I needed. Ann & Ian have a lovely holiday home, great location, stunning views, and we loved being surrounded by beautiful natives and animals. We’re looking forward to our next KI holiday and will be definitely staying here again. ☺️

We really enjoyed staying at this house. The owners are very thoughtful and felt like we had everything we would need. Comfy beds, great heating and incredible views from the family room. It's so well positioned, one of the best at Vivonne I think, with views over green leafy trees to blue ocean and cliffs either side. Checking in very easy, and good communication with owner Ian. Vivonne is a great central spot, close to the best parts of KI in my opinion and very convenient to have the general store and petrol station nearby for such a remote place. We will come back here and hope to stay in this lovely home again.

Good heating, clean, well stocked property, few mins walk to beach. Convenient location for flinders chase national park, little Sahara and seal bay. Very limited supplies at vivonne bay general store, very limited mobile reception. House warm in winter and owners kindly allowed us to access laundry (useful after 2 of us capsized while kayaking in nearby river!). Has internet but limited data allowance ( big sky muster satellite system).

Our stay at ocean view really complimented beautiful KI. Ian and Ann are the perfect hosts and their very comfortable house has a lovely setting in the Vivonne Bay dunes. The views are second to none. We loved staying there!
