We had a great time. The house is in secluded cove.

We rented the property for the Memorial weekend for three families with kids. The house sits on a nice sloping lawn with beautiful water view. Location on the water is quiet, no boats or jetskis were around, the property provides all you may need on the water - paddle boards, kayaks, some water toys, noodles, floaties, kids thoroughly enjoyed the lake. The dock has very nice sitting furniture. The house was clean, kitchen stocked with all kind of utensils, spices, food processors, bedrooms are spacious with good quality matresses. One note - one bedroom with two twins is off the master bedroom, i.e. it's bedroom inside master bedroom, would work for a close family, but not necessarily for friends. Worked for us great, but thought to make a note of this configuration. Our favorite space was deck with huge dining table and several sitting arrangements with beautiful views over the water and sunset. This is the house where all basic and beyond basic necessities were provided, saves time on shopping. Communication with the owners was very effective and Nancy was very helpful. We loved the house and hope to be back again!

Enjoyed staying here. Home was well equipped and directions for accessing everything was very clear/labeled. Relaxing atmosphere and very kid friendly.

Oh it was WONDERFUL! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wished we had longer. The views were beautiful and we loved the area of the lake in our own private cove it felt. Fire pit right along the water and private little ‘beach’. We enjoyed the dock and sunshine all day Saturday, after morning hot tub! Plenty of space for groups and families. Great kitchen equipped with everything you need!

All in all it was a great trip! My sister in law had a great girls weekend for her bachelorette party. Thank you for having us!

Let me say Nancy is a dream to work with. She handled all of my concerns, even the crazy ones, like a pro. Journeys End is everything they say it is and then some. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of their property. You truly won’t want for anything. The cove is so peaceful & SML is beautiful. We opted to rent a boat for the week, but there’s plenty to enjoy without one. After decades of vacationing at the beach, we were converted. We had such an amazing time and look forward to returning next year.

This was a long awaited trip that we were looking forward too and it was worth the wait. The house and amenities were fantastic. The kids loved all the outdoor activities. We 100% recommend renting from Nancy and Charles. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Kristen

This home is beautiful and had absolutely everything we needed. Everything was clean and looked exactly as it did on the listing. The cove was quiet and beautiful and the neighbors were very pleasant as well. We were only there for the weekend, but I wish we had booked extra days. Communication with the owner/host was wonderful. As an added plus, there was also great reception there and the wifi worked well! (**we had teenage kids...you know how that goes). The lot was beautiful, with a small downward slope. Very manageable. Had it been warmer, we would have been able to enjoy ALLLLLL of the kayaks and paddleboards. I can't say enough good things about this rental. If the opportunity arises again, we will be back!!!

Great place to stay with plenty of room. My family and I came to surprise my daughter for her 21st birthday. She loved the place and enjoyed herself, we all did especially the hot tub! Nancy was great to work with. You won't be disappointed if you stay there.

The house was a great spot for a yearly group trip and very cozy and private. The house had everything we needed and really appreciate the linen service and cleaning being all rolled into the stay. We picked this house because of all the amenities and convenience! Only thing I would change is yard was very very damp and slippery and lack of door locks. The space was perfect we’d def stay there again and that huge family room and tv and giant table in kitchen was outstanding! If you could make one of the twin rooms a queen I think more couples could enjoy their stay just a tad bit more! But this was a fabulous trip! Thank you Nancy for being so attentive throughout the process!

What a joy it was to stay at this property! The property was beautiful and the home was fully equipped with toys, kitchen supplies, and all the extras which really lends itself to a great time even it rains. This place is such a gem. We had a great week enjoying the beautiful views of the lake, the fantastic dock setup, the kayaks, the fire pit, and the hot tub! The inside of the house is spacious and comfy and the well-equipped kitchen made meal prep easy. The internet signal was good--my husband and I worked and my kids did their distance learning with no problems. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Our entire family (three generations) loved Journey's End! The house and property were exactly as pictured. We especially loved the location - private cove with easy access to a beautiful part of the lake. The kids (and grown ups) loved jumping off the dock and relaxing on the great mats provided. We rented a boat for the week and took the kids on a pirate adventure one day! The house was wonderful! We especially loved the outdoor space. The weather was quite hot and humid all week. We would have loved to have spent more time relaxing and eating on the beautiful deck. The house was very well equipped and we especially loved that sheets and towels were provided. We also loved the welcome gift of s'mores ingredients. We enjoyed making them in the firepit area. Would love to come back to Journey's End again. Thank you for providing such a welcoming home!

Took 8 coworkers for a weekend get away. The house was as described and had an awesome view from many of the widows. Would highly recommend this house.

What a great stay we had! This property is ideally situated on a quiet cove, where the main lake is easily accessible, but the house and dock are private. The house setup is excellent for kids--the dock and beach are viewable from both the deck and the kitchen, so its easy to keep an eye on the kids while they are swimming. Moreover, the house is extremely well-equipped, notably in the kitchen. Anytime we wanted to cook something, we'd open a drawer or cabinet and find the utensil or pan or appliance we needed. Nancy and Charles were very helpful when we spoke with them, referring us for boat rentals and such. All in all, this was an excellent vacation home and we would absolutely stay here again next time we come to SML. Thank you!

We enjoyed this property. The peaceful cove was perfect for jumping off the docks, playing on the beach, and starting your day with a quiet cup of coffee. This home offered everything you need for a home away from home... everything you need for cooking for a large family is available in the kitchen, board games & building blocks on hand for a rainy day, stocked laundry room, and of course floats, paddle boards, & kayaks for the lake. We enjoyed it all!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Journey's End. Beautiful home, beautiful backyard to the lake, beautiful view of the lake. Love the use of the kayaks and the dock area was wonderful to sit and read a book or to play or watch the sunset. The owners had smore supplies for us to use around the fire pit area also! Lots of appliances and kitchen tools etc. Loved it here!!

Had a great fishing weekend with family and friends. We tied up a bass and pontoon rental at the dock and spent some time in the evening fishing and just hanging around the fire pit. Very quite and relaxing. Everyone enjoyed the stay.

My family had an amazing time here! When the weather finally cooperated with us, we had such a great time at the dock, fire pit, and wonderful hot tub. They have literally thought of EVERYTHING here you should need. It was great making memories here and we all can't wait to do it again!

We visited in early spring and had great weather to enjoy the wonderful outdoor space of this home, from the gathering space on the dock to the backyard, to the hot tub, to the back deck! Inside, the home had everything we needed for a group of 9 to eat and relax together. The kitchen was well appointed and the house was generally comfortable!

Nancy was great to deal with and responded very quickly to any questions!

Stayed early December so was too cold, but would have loved to kayak around the lake. Everything was thought of and provided for us. The beds were so soft and comfortable-slept like a dream. The hot tub was wonderful and really enjoyed relaxing under the stars. Would love to come back one summer with our family!!!!

We had a wonderful time at SML with some of our family for the Thanksgiving holiday. The house was beautiful, spacious and so very well equipped. Everything worked perfectly. Nancy and Charles were great to work with. Obviously too cold for water sports, but we enjoyed the decks and the views and the outside grill. Gathering spaces were more than large enough for our ten.

Had a fantastic trip to Smith Mountain Lake and this home was fabulous. Located in a quiet cove where you could relax and fish off dock. Charles and Nancy thought about everything you could possibly need during your stay to make you feel welcome..like they were hosting you and your family personally. I can’t wait to stay next year.
