everything about the stay was perfect, as expected. To be clear, the home is pretty dated and is probably a "new" home in the '80s, but there's nothing missing from it and it served our needs perfectly. The master bedroom is on the "main" level, which is the lower level, but it worked well for us since the inhabitants of that room had the elderly dog that couldn't go up stairs anyway. The remaining bedrooms are in the upper level, which is actually closer to the parking level, if you want to go in that way. The property is huge, and very peaceful and private. They're currently building the boathouse for those of you who want to bring or rent a boat. win-win. Only complaint i have is the upper level bathroom shower head is located at about 5' above the floor, so you have to duck down to get your head wet and shower. But otherwise it was a perfect stay! I've stayed at about a half dozen lake houses on Martin for AU games and this is in my top 2. Thanks!

We loved this house and property. The kitchen has every gadget you would ever need for cooking. It is very spacious with plenty of tables and chairs inside and out, has beautiful views with the sunset off the front. We did not want to leave. The owners are extremely nice.

We arrived on a Tuesday and stayed through Friday. We did not want to leave. The home was so comfortable and the beds were like sleeping on clouds. The description of the property is not an exaggeration. The hosts were great. I was able to meet Marsha and her husband. Marsha is an absolute joy to talk to. It's like she doesn't meet a stranger. She was very accommodating. I can completely understand why her property is continously rented out. People will always come back to the wonderful hospitality! Thank you Marsha! I can’t say enough great things about this classic, nostalgic lakefront home! Lots of room for 2 families! The 2 sets of parents had a room to ourselves and the teenagers each had a twin bed and their own space to hang out in. Beautiful views of the lake, easy to find by car, covered dock and floating dock to tie the boat up to, & another fishing pier on the property too! My husband was grateful to be able to use the on site boat ramp as well. Fully equipped with literally EVERYTHING you need! Just bring yourselves and your groceries. Marsha and Jerry are so nice, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Super hosts!! Can’t wait to go back! We had a wonderful time!

The best lake house ever! Clean, well stocked and perfect location! Absolutely wonderful!

This home is a perfect location for everything Auburn! It was about a 30-40 minute drive into Auburn for our commencement ceremonies. The home is easy to find, GPS is right on the money. We booked in early August of last year and our anticipation was not in vain. Lovely property with well maintained home. The beds have brand new mattresses and the multiple twin beds were perfect for the comings and going's of our young adults. There was plenty of space for friends and family to gather for the after party! The patio and dock areas were just perfect for the beautiful day we were blessed with. Plenty of outdoor seating. The fire pit area was perfect for evenings outside roasting hot dogs and s'mores. The Hanks (owners) have stocked the pantry with plenty of serving ware and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pots and pans. The extra fridge upstairs really came in handy! We did have an issue with the air, but they were prompt to return messages and it was taken care of next day. The young adults in our group enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat while the youngest of us enjoyed the swim mat. We all did swim even though the water was a bit chilly. The fishing was fun, especially bobber fishing for bream in the evenings. And the sunsets are amazing. We are already planning to visit this lovely home again! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hanks for sharing your beautiful place with us. It was the perfect setting to celebrate our girl!

The views and location were beyond what we expected. Everything has been thought of with this lake home. We I’ll be back for sure.

This is a terrific place at a great location. The pier has just been expanded & provides a wonderful setup to enjoy being on the lake, even though it is currently way down. Great plusses: plenty of room, both inside & outside; no hill to go up & down; fantastic views both upstairs & downstairs; plenty of chairs & tables on the Lake level; owner great to work with. Minus: upstairs kitchen had no utensils or cooking equipment. Overall: a great place that we hope to visit again.

Writing a summary about this property would never match the lovely experience we had. It’s a 10/10 and would recommend this stay to anyone and their mothers. You have to see it to believe it.

This house is a great location, on the best part of the lake, and a terrific layout for plenty of people to sleep and enjoy time on beautiful Lake Martin. The docks are great and the ramp was a nice feature. If you're bringing your own boat, don't pull all the way up to the house, as it's past the ramp. Plenty of parking and lots of room. The patio was our favorite spot all weekend aside from the docks and our boat. Everybody slept well and there were plenty of beds and bathrooms for all. We had two families come together to celebrate a couple of birthdays and it was a terrific time. We cruised, wakeboarded, tubed, hung out and made quesadillas one evening, a big two-pot shrimp boil another evening, and we even watched some football on the big TV downstairs. The picture was excellent. We will definitely be back again. Marsha is a marvelous host!

This is a beautiful property. The views can't be beat. Not long after I booked, I received a call from the host, Marsha. She was very helpful offering additional details in advance of our stay that helped us plan our trip and what we need to pack. Marsha was very responsive to additional questions I had as the date approached. She offered directions with landmarks to supplement the GPS directions (we only missed the very last turn because the street sign is hidden by foliage). Check-in was smooth and easy. The property is very well-stocked and, again, Marsha was available for questions throughout our stay. The view is beautiful from the living/kitchen areas and there is a wonderful screened porch on the second floor. The decor is whimsical and fun! Although a bit dated and shows some wear, it is more-than-comfortable. There are kayaks, paddle boats, and fishing poles. There was even wood already placed in the fire pit for us! We had a great time! Our only complaint was the weather; it rained incessantly while we were there but that was obviously outside anyone's control. We are already discussing a return trip when we can, hopefully, better enjoy this wonderful property!

Our first visit to Lake Martin and The Peninsula was great. Half way between Nashville and Fairhope is Lake Martin. Our Fairhope friends met us there and we didn’t leave until checkout. This is truly a unique property on the lake, very private. The house is very comfortable, well appointed, big TV (ready for your Netfix, Prime, etc, login), and the fantastic views of the lake. Also, a perfect place for a dog. Our guy had a blast, being on a peninsula your dog has plenty of room to run and swim without worrying about the neighbors. There are so many different areas to enjoy here- the patio, upper screened porch, covered dock, swimming platform, fishing platform (we caught a few bass), walking trail around the peninsula. And, plenty of kayaks with paddles (bring your life jackets). This was one of our more enjoyable rentals and our host, Marsha was outstanding. I highly recommend.

The property was beautiful and private. The view of the sunset every evening was amazing. The house was stocked with everything you might possibly need. Our group had the most amazing time here and will definitely be back!

We had an amazing time at this house. This was our third trip to lake Martin and this house did not disappoint. Private point lot with 3 docks and a ramp made getting handling the 2 boats and jet ski we brought super easy. We will definitely be back!

Nice place lovely kind hosts

We stayed here with our three kids ages 11, 14 and 17. Everyone loved the spacious house! The kids had the entire upstairs to themselves. They each had they’re own room with plenty of extra beds for friends (next time). Upstairs the kids had a small kitchenette with a refrigerator where they kept all their drinks and snacks. The master was downstairs and had its own separate air conditioning which was nice because I like to sleep in an ice box! When it rained the kids all ganged up in the front bedroom to play Fortnite. The kitchen was spacious with everything you need and if it didn’t then all you had to do is go to the pantry and there it was! I cooked a Boston Butt for bbq one night and used the crock pot that was there. The views from the Lake House were absolutely breathtaking! I took my camera and was able to get some beautiful sunrise, sunset and storm cloud pictures. There is 5 kayaks and one is a double. Our oldest son used the fishing kayak one afternoon to fish and caught some big bull bream and a few bass. There is also a paddle boat that all tied out and let’s just say some of us are a lot more coordinated than others! We were all crying we were laughing so hard. We brought our Lee boat and it was nice to have a private boat launch. My husband and son fished a couple mornings and in the afternoon and caught some nice ones. At night we would all fish from the big pier and caught some big catfish, bream and crappie. We rented a pontoon boat from Lakeside Marina which was about 10 drive and 25 minutes by boat. We brought our own tube to pull the kids around and of course myself! We had fun but one of us is a little sore…me! We went to Chimney rock which was 20 minute boat ride. My husband and our middle child jumped off of the middle rock a couple times. We watched a man (well into his prime) jump off of the very top! Insane doesn’t even begin to describe that whole situation! We also went to Goat Island which was a lot of fun. Make sure to take something to eat for them. We had chips and carrots, the goats loved them. We were able to meet the owners Marsha and Jerry. They are the nicest people you’ll ever meet!! Our son helped them and their son move in a couch so we had some time to get to know them a little. Jerry loves to feed his fish at the dock so we saw him in the mornings. The kids loved seeing the fish come eat. We all said the lake house felt like home & it did! I can’t imagine staying anywhere else! We’ll definitely be back

This was our first visit to Lake Martin. The location is very central to the lake. Close to fire tower, Dadeville and Alexander City. We will be back.
