Our family loved staying at Michele’s house. The deck is amazing and the home is so close to beach which made it easy for quick walks back and forth to the house. Great location! We brought our 13 year old Shih Tzu. He loved sitting with us on the deck! Thank you, Michele!

I have stayed at this property on two occasions so far and look forward to future stays! Michele is a wonderful, very responsive host. My family loves that we can bring our dog and the location of the house cannot be beat!

The location is wonderful. The front deck is wonderful. The house was generally clean and well furnished. It was nice to have two parking spots off street. Wonderful to be right on the beach and not lug our beach gear back and forth. The reason I'm giving this property two stars is that from the moment we opened the door to bring the bags in, we were faced with a musty, moldy odor. We thought opening the windows would help. It seemed to make things worse. We thought perhaps the house was closed up for the previous week and needed some airing out. By the 2nd or 3rd day we realized the smell wasn't going away and was in fact getting worse. We called and left messages with the owner but since they are in California, there was inevitably a delay in returned calls. Later found out owner was overseas vacationing which added to delay. Owner had cleaning lady come over to look around and see if there was something she could do. Unfortunately, by this time, the smell began to be more of a sewage smell which we communicated to owner and no cleaning lady could do anything about it. Seemed like a broken sewer pipe under the house in a crawl space. By the end of our stay, we had all windows open all the time and placed box fans in widows to keep fresh air coming in. We were fortunate that the weather was decent because the last three days we really had to stay outside as much as possible. In the end I don’t know how or if the problem was resolved. There was certainly no offer of a partial refund or partial credit for a future stay. If the owner had a property management service in Ocean City taking care of house, I think they would’ve come out, diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a day or two. But that wasn’t the case. If you’re interested in renting this house, make sure the owner has hired a local property management service first in case emergencies come up.

The unit is right on the beach. Very helpful host. Easy access. The unit is very clean and has all necessary amenities. Would definitely rent again.

In addition to the run-down nature of the property, you get to enjoy the dispute the owners are having with the neighbors. Nastiness added to unpleasantness.

We are so grateful that the owner shared their beach house with us for Thanksgiving. Our family and dogs loved having direct access to the beach anytime day or night. It is a very special location and this beach house fulfilled all of our needs for a wonderful weekend. Thanks!

My husband, 3 kids and 2 dogs stayed here from June 26 through July 3rd 2021. We had a great time! The rooms are so spacious and the deck is incredible! The proximity to the beach can’t be beat. Michele was easy to contact and very responsive to my texts. Beds were very comfortable and the water pressure was great. Would definitely love to come back 🙂 Stacy Regan

Our stay was very nice and relaxing

We have owned and rented in Ocean City for years, and you simply cannot beat this location. It is literally right on the beach, and it has its own private path down to the water. It is also a short walk to the playground, tennis, and lots of take out. The entire rental process was handled efficiently and professionally by the owners. We had no problems at all. The internet signal was very strong. The TV's all worked well and came well equipped, and all the kitchen appliances were working well. The bedrooms are large, and the open floorpan is perfect for family gathering time. An excellent week at the shore! Did I mention the location is excellent?

Can’t beat right on the beach! The view was incredible and the deck as well. The house was lovely.

We went down for the weekend at the last minute when we saw the weather was going to be in the 70’s in November and it was a beautiful weekend. House is amazing, big enough for a large family and two steps from the sand. Deck was perfect at night listening to the ocean.

Everything you need for a relaxing trip to the beach.

The house was everything listed. It was a small hike to the beach, but a beautiful location and so close to everything. Our 20 month old son had an amazing time & that’s all that mattered. The only downfall is the neighbors were incredibly rude. We will be renting elsewhere next year and only because it’s closer for family in the military otherwise this house would be a prespective.

This beachfront home has a fabulous location and awesome deck..just steps from the beach make it the best place on the island to rent. The owners are the nicest folks and they have really kept this house in perfect renting condition. If you are looking for a quiet roomy place to rent, this is your house.

We had an outstanding time! House was great. Located close to so many stores, beachfront and just beautiful deck that was where we enjoyed our coffee every morning and listened to the waves every evening. There was also a lot of space for 3 small children to play. Our kids had the time of their lives and so did the parents. So glad we found this gem in the perfect location.

We loved our stay at this house. Coming from Utah, we greatly appreciated the on hand beach toys, boogey boards and beach chairs for us to use. It was fun to eat out on the porch and hear the ocean, and feel the sea breeze. The bed rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the three bathrooms were a total winner. The owners were easy to get a hold of and very helpful with all the arrangements.. We had no issues. Our expectations were exceeded. Glad we found it.

This property is centrally located to just about everything especially the beach! We would definitely rent here again. The only thing that's a little hairy is the parking and once you figure it out-it's all good!

We just got home from our stay and we miss it already! Michelle and Jack were awesome hosts! If we had any questions or issues they were right on top of it! It was at a perfect location in Ocean City. Everything was close by. We can’t wait to plan our family vacation for next summer! Thank you Michelle and Jack! This meant so much to our family.

We had a great stay at Shabby Chic that exceeded our expectations. The rooms are large and comfortable. The deck is huge. And yes, the beach starts right off the deck. We were four related adult couples who went for an extended weekend. The huge living room was good for our nightly games. We had to improvise a little in the kitchen, but the missing tools we expected (like measuring cups and spoons) just gave us a roughing it feel as we estimated the measurements but without the reality of roughing it. Great grill. We had groceries delivered from an online service and supplemented with roadside stand produce. But there are lots of restaurants and grocery stores are near by. I particularly recommend walking on the beach, a trip to Batsto Village and a day in the Cape May Historic District. Others enjoyed reading and snoozing on the beach and deck. Don't forget your bedding, towels, and face cloths. All of us agreed this was a wonderful destination.

My friends and I just stayed here for a week. The house is just like the pictures. The house is very nice and the deck is huge - and really nice! It is virtually right on the beach which is super convenient. The owner was very responsive to a little issue so smooth sailing! We would highly recommend!

This property is a great location and a number of levels. Directly on the beach, Within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops and directly off the main highway exchange. The owners were very attentive and prompt with requests. I would recommend this location to anyone.

We really enjoyed our mini getaway at Shabby Chic! Perfect location for a quiet vacation during the off season. The deck was amazing to sit outside and enjoy the sun, even though it was a touch chilly, it was still beautiful! Our dogs loved sunning and napping on the deck as well! We had a couple of minor issues, but the owner was extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with. The bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable, I slept like a baby. Actually, the whole house is comfortable... and cozy. We really enjoyed our vacation and cannot wait to go back!

From the deck you walk directly onto the sand. The property is set up with two master bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, which is nice when two families are traveling together. This was our second year renting this home, primarily because its location is incredible. When on the beach it is so nice to be able to run back 'home' to use the bathroom, make lunch, etc.

We stayed in June 2018 and everything was accurately described. The beach is right off the deck--deck itself is huge, and we hung out there quite a lot. All technology is up to date--internet fast and all televisions were SMART and functioned. The A.C. was also exceptional. I did cook quite a few meals, and the kitchen was well stocked. The space is large, and we had 6 people with much room to spare. I would highly recommend this property to families. The location is quiet and out of the way but easy to drive or Uber to the boards!

Everything was perfect. The location can’t be beat. The house was comfortable. This is a lovely property with everything you need and the best part is the beach just over the dune.

I hesitate to write such a glowing review of our NYE stay at Shabby Chic...only for fear someone else might steal our idea! We had a wonderful, cozy, beachfront getaway with my mom and our dog, complete with snow and fireworks on the boardwalk for New Year's Eve. Shabby Chic is a lovely, eclectic first floor home with an enormous beachfront deck and easy beach access steps away. The bedrooms were over-sized and very warm in the cold winter temperatures. The new "Nest" thermostat worked beautifully, and we enjoyed every night in the living room by the fire. The eat-in kitchen is well equipped, easily navigated, but could use a few more wine glasses! ;-) Being winter time, there were a few VERY MINOR glitches. Anything we couldn't figure out by reading the detailed household manual, the owners, Jack and Michele, were readily available and everything was solved quickly via text message. This home is ideal for multiple families as it is spacious, and very kid friendly. For the three of us, it was perfect for entertaining over the holiday, and quietly relaxing on our own. We highly recommend Shabby Chic!

We had a great Thanksgiving at the beach. My family of 4 shared this with my sister’s family of 4 over Thanksgiving. It was great. Best part: everyone splayed out on the large cozy couches reading in front of the fireplace. Michele was a wonderful hostess. Great communication. Easy payment, check in and out. Thank you!
