Very clean and decorated with great beachy colors. Great sunset views and a short walk to the ocean and the Ocean Beach neighborhood with lots of restaurants and shopping. Really enjoyed our visit

We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. We had just wished there were a few cozy blankets to wrap up in as the nights were colder than we had anticipated.

We had a great time in San Diego, and the Sunset Cottage was a perfect accommodation for our family! Located in a safe, central neighbourhood, with lots of great restaurant/cafe options nearby. Rodney was a great host, very responsive to texts, provided us with excellent recommendations for restaurants and local activities.

Adorable, well-positioned, well-decorated little house. Outstanding gardens and porch for morning coffee or evening relaxation. Host remarkably communicative. Beds comfortable. Very small bathroom, like most bungalows, but all in working order. Appliances new. All we needed was provided. Was not ready to leave.

My mom and I enjoyed the vacation rental. The cottage is very stylish and very welcoming. The decoration is lovingly selected and every detail fits together perfectly! There was plenty of space to feel at home and you can hardly beat the location. We were close to everything we planned to do on our vacation. We were minutes away from the beach, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and great restaurants. There is also a lot of food within walking distance. The Owner was responsive and totally professional. We had a wonderful stay!

Great location near everything we'd planned and with easy access to downtown San Diego, and a short walk to Sunset Cliffs, the pier, and the Ocean Beach Wednesday farmers market. Be sure to check out the Olive Tree Market and Stella Jean for amazing ice cream. The cottage is comfortable, well cared for, and nicely decorated; the kitchen is small but very well equipped. The garden is amazing and the neighborhood is quiet. Thanks, Rodney for a lovely getaway!

We stayed for a week at this lovely gem of a cottage. Perfect location a short walk from the ocean with fantastic views from the cliffs and bohemian Ocean Beach. We spent several evenings just relaxing and enjoying the view from the porch and living room. Fully equipped with everything you might need including all kitchen utensils. Highly recommended!

The cottage was a great base of operations for our busy weekend of adventures with our five- and eight-year-old grandsons. The cottage was clean, well equipped, and charmingly decorated. The amazing garden provided a calming respite to the bustling rhythm of our days. Our host, Rodney, could not have been more accommodating. Overall, all that we could have hoped for in a vacation rental!

My family of 4 with children aged 3 and 5 had a nice stay. We really enjoyed sleeping with the windows open. The house had everything we needed and Rodney was great to work with.

The house was well organized and stocked. The owner was helpful and quick to respond which we really appreciated. The garden was beautiful and definitely a highlight of the stay. My husband's only comment was the bathroom sink was difficult to use because of the size of the medicine cabinet and the small sink. Otherwise, all good.

We were impressed with the cottage and found it to be clean, comfortable, and nice to come home to after a day out. Beds were comfortable. The Ocean Beach area had good restaurants, nice beaches and especially nice garden areas. Sunset Cottage had beautiful gardens as well.

Cute little house! Loved that it was walking distance to beaches, restaurants, and convenience stores. It’s just a short drive from the airport and easy to get to downtown and all the sights and excursions that San Diego has to offer. The host was easy to contact and allowed us to check in early. The beds were comfortable and kitchen had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils.

this house was great. Easy street parking. Beautiful sunset right from the front porch. It was clean and had all the things you need for your stay. I would recommend.

This little cottage is so sweet! It was comfortable and well supplied with nice extras like coffee, tea, plastic wrap and aluminum foil. The beds were comfy and having Netflix was a bonus. The location is great - we walked to the OB farmer’s market on Wednesday evening (highly recommend). We didn’t have any issue finding on street parking although it wasn’t always directly in front of the cottage. The garden is beautiful and my parents really enjoyed walking around looking at the plants each day! Our host was great! He was really responsive. We had a little issue because we visited in the winter and the only heating vent is in the living room so the rooms remain chilly. We found the provided space heaters but we tripped the circuit by trying to run them at the same time. The host immediately offered to send out an electrician and bring us extra blankets. It didn’t end up being necessary as we found the circuit breaker to get the outlets working again and just ran the space heater in one room at a time. We would definitely stay here again if it is available the next time we are in San Diego. Thank you Rodney for a lovely stay!

Close to Ocean Beach restaurants and had everything we were looking for.

Nice, clean house within walking distance to the ocean. I was amazed how quiet it was. The house has a nice little porch with a bench, patio table outside & gorgeous yard!! Watched amazing sunsets at Sunset Cliffs! Walking distance to nice restaurants & neat little shops. The host, Rodney, was easy to communicate with & very friendly!

Easy in and out. Close to a lot of San Diego’s attractions.

Stayed 2 nights, great location for beach access and walk ability to downtown restaurants, breweries and cafe. Major drawback was being awakened every morning at 630 by planes taking off overhead,

Enjoyed the short walk to coast line in morning. The cottage was well maintained and the owner very communicative. The only draw back was cleaning fee was steep but would consider renting again

Rodney was great with communication and suggestions for restaurants in the neighborhood. The place was just like it’s stated in the VRBO overview. Already recommended this location to relatives and friends. Great value as well.

My husband, 2 boys and I thought the space was perfect. All the usual amenities + fans for warmer afternoons and sooo many thoughtful/useful beach supplies! Thank you! The succulent garden is a sight to behold. Hummingbirds were abundant near the 2 red trees on the property. The location was accurate to other reviews (10 minute walk to Sunset Cliffs and 15 minute walk to Newport Ave- the main strip). There were 3 evenings (after 6pm) that we had to park a block away, which was a bummer, but we made it work. All in all, my family had a blast making amazing memories in beautiful San Diego. P.S. There is a secret beach at the end of Santa Cruz Ave that we loved hitting up for a less crowded sunset view. 😉
