What a wonderful location. Staying on a ranch 3000 feet above sea level on the Big Island. The Ohana Hale was very clean, and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped so that you can cook your meals if you choose to. The BBQ also worked very well. Teri is a fantastic host. She communicated the arrival instruction very well. She was very responsive to any questions that came up. I would absolutely stay here again.

The clean air, beautiful rolling hills and start gazing made our stay here spectacular. Very relaxing and peaceful.

The place is very nice -all you could need. Yards away are panoramas of ocean and distant mountains with Kohala Mountain pastureland in the foreground. A working ranch with horses, cattle, sheep and one pet pig. It's over a hundred years old with an interesting history. Very relaxing and quite private. Terri was great.

This stay was a highlight of our trip. The unit was spacious, clean and comfortable. But what really makes it stand out is the location, the land it’s on and the amazing views it has. It's a nice place where to base yourself while visiting the north part of the island. Everything was so easily accessible. Yet when you are up there, you feel like you are in another world completely. The hosts were very nice too and took the time to tell us about their amazing ranch and their kids even took time to show our kids all their animals. Wish we would have stayed longer!

Beautiful property. A remote, relaxing location about 20 minutes from great beaches and cute towns with nice restaurant options. Make sure you walk the property a bit to take in the wonderful views. Very clean with all of the extras to help make your trip go smoothly. Would definitely stay again!

Terri's home was THE surprise of our trip. The home is comfortable and exactly as described. There is no view from the home itself, but this is more than made up by the views available from the ranch. Pictures online don't do justice to the breathtaking views that are available just a short walk from the home, where we have access to a very large "private" grassy area that is perfect for sunsets, stargazing or just relaxing. We were amazed how lucky we were to have access to such a perfect spot on a working ranch on Big Island, with cattle and horses and all! Of all the places we have been on the Big Island, this is the one that the kids miss the most. Terri was very helpful in getting the kids on a horse ride on the property at the last minute too! Just a short (always rewarding) ride from the Kohala coast beaches, the beautiful Pololu Valley, and the Waimea area. All in all, if you seek staying away from the crowds, you simply cannot pass this rental. Mahalo Terri!

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! We love this ranch. The drive here from the Kona airport is easy & AMAZING. The views are stunning! Hosts Terri & Tim are so sweet and accommodating. We only got to stay here a couple of days before family arrived & we had to move to a larger place. This was our first time in Hawaii and I seriously hope to come back & stay here again. Mahalo Terri & Tim!

Lovely property with beautiful views. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. The owners provided lots of tips, even though they were a bit under the weather. Space was very comfortable. Only negatives were the cobwebs on the outside of the windows (one of my kids doesn't like spiders), water wasn't clear but told drinkable (they provided bottled water to drink) and shared laundry machine was down stairs but open to living space.

Our two-night stay was special and memorable. The cottage was lovely, well furnished and very clean. Our hosts Terri and Tim were welcoming and helpful. We’d love to stay again!

My husband and I came during a blustery March and enjoyed ourselves so much. Terri and Tim are so very helpful and generous. They were quick to communicate and answered all of our questions about things to see in the area, activities etc. We were thankful for the beach supplies, coffee, and water that they supplied for us. We fell in love with Custard the pig, and were in total awe of the property. Our favourite part was walking up to the weather tower and sitting on the lawn in total serenity. The horses and cows kept an eye on us and we loved coming back to our cozy home at the end of a beach day. The drive itself is something you'll never forget. Thanks so much Terri and Tim!

This property is beautiful. The accommodations were perfect. We went to the Paniolo BBQ the night before and it was a short walk up the driveway from this property. After three very long travel days, it was the perfect place to let our family rest and run around without having to worry. The Kona coffee in the morning was a wonderful treat. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here many times over. The hosts are friendly and helpful. We actually had a flight cancellation and Terri worked with us to rebook. Our family had a great time here! We enjoyed the amazing view, especially for sunset and also for stargazing and the cosy and comfortable home. Terri was a great host and easy to contact directly. Great location on the Kohala, not far away from Waimea, Hawi and some nice beaches on the West coast!

My friend and I loved our stay at Ohana Hale! The unit was so clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed and nice decor and furnishings. The sunset views from the lawn are spectacular! Our host Terri was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again - for a longer visit! Just be sure to carefully read the directions to get there as I should have done!

Stunning views of the ranch and ocean. My daughter called it paradise. Our family would definitely stay here again.

We decided to stay at Kahua Ranch for 9 nights, to have the experience of being on a Hawaii ranch. It was extremely interesting as well as beautiful. There is no great view from the apartment you stay in but just a few steps outside and on a clear day you will see an amazing view all the way down to the coastline. We were able to walk around parts of the property, saw the large herds of cattle and sheep, visited with the adorable pig "Custard" and had several very interesting chats with Terry, one of the owners. The ranch is over 100 years old and the history is quite interesting. An experience that will be entirely different from staying at a resort, I highly recommend it.

Great stay. The place is really clean and has all the essentials. Great (partial) view of the Kona coast from the dining room. Located on a working ranch, saw sheep and horses grazing in the green hills. Communication with host was quick and easy. Internet is fast

This was the perfect place for our family. It was plenty of space for our 5 family members and the host communication and recommendations were helpful. The views and sunset are stunning. Just a short drive from Waimea and provides a perfect experience of this part of the island. Quiet, serene, beautiful.

2 bedroom guest house, located on Kahua Ranch off Kohala Mtn Rd, just north of Waimea. Beautiful rural setting; definitely a place to relax and recharge

Comfortable and sweet is the property …The view from the property itself is nothing special but wait! The land the property is on is magnificent.. in order to get the full experience of the rental property you have to walk about 2 minutes to an expansive lawn with the most charming 100 year old cottage and farmhouse… The sunsets here are breathtaking … the night sky is amazing as there is no light pollution, the rolling hills and the pastures are unique places from almost another time… this place is a treasure… Tim and Terri were lovely hosts and we would stay there again. Mahalo nui loa… Aloha!

We all (including two late teen boys) really appreciated the farm/ranch atmosphere with nice views, rolling hills, and many animals. The friendliest horses ever. A rolling and winding ride to get there. Location is best suited to north island destinations. Extra security with an electric gated driveway, though the area is likely very safe regardless. Make sure you don't misplace the gate entry code if you come back or arrive late. Would be glad to return.

An amazing, quiet location with comfortable and clean lodgings. It was a short walk down the road to the stables for horseback riding and loved all the horses and animals roaming the property. The views were breathtaking!

This is a beautiful location. It’s not in the hustle of the busy resort area, but with easy access to the beaches and Waimea. The owner has updated so many aspects, and it shows—a very comfortable and lovely place. She was extremely helpful and gracious, personally meeting us as we drove in late, with a big fog obscuring everything. She couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay

With 4 adults, this was a great stop on a 3-week Hawaiian trip and reprieve from resort-ing. We launched to the northern sites of the island and found the apartment well equipped, safe and quiet. Terri (our host) helped us navigate the food scene and scenic spots. Would stay again if travels bring me to Hawaii.

This rental has amazing views of the mountains, oceans and all of the livestock on the ranch. There is such beauty all around. The home was very clean and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. I do recommend checking in before dark as it can be tricky to find at night but the host was quickly responsive and helped guide our way. Highly recommend this rental!

House was perfect! One of the cleanest vrbo's we've rented from. The house was well stocked with basic necessities. The property was epic for early morning walks. The views and animals was so amazing! Terri and Tim were very helpful with any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to staying here again in the future.
