Our expectations were greatly exceeded by this home at the edge of the tiny town of Escalante. The view from the living room and bedroom was toward the wide open spaces, yet we were very close to restaurants and shopping. The home is furnished in an appealing and accommodating manner, with all the quiet and comforts of home. The hosts were kind and helpful without exception. We hope to return for more explorations of the area.

We absolutely loved our week at La Luz! The house is wonderful with beautiful views. It was extremely quite and peaceful. Ricci and Sandy are great hosts. The hiking in Grand Staircase-Escalante is fantastic and has such diversity. After hiking every day, we really enjoyed coming back to relax at La Luz. It was a very rejuvenating week!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. Our hosts, Ricki and Sandy were pleasant, informative and wonderful hosts! Escalante is a beautiful place, we look forward to visiting again. This house was perfect for our family. Our teenagers enjoyed sharing the upstairs bedroom and bath. The living room and kitchen (open floor plan) worked out perfectly. The master bedroom and bath were on the main floor. The view out the large windows is beautiful. My husband and I enjoyed relaxing on the patio. The house provided everything we needed on our trip - fully stocked. We used it as a "home base" to go out and explore the area and national parks. Then home to cook on the grill and relax for the evening. No TV downstairs in the living room (only in the upstairs bedroom). Not a problem for us, we very seldom watch TV. A beautiful, relaxing home to visit. Wifi is strong - a very necessary item with 2 teens. Sandy thank you for opening your lovely home to us, we hope to visit again.

La Luz is a perfect name. The light was gorgeous from sunup to sundown as well as the crescent moon and bright stars. We thoroughly enjoyed letting Escalante be our base as we explored Bryce and the Grand Staircase.

House is perfect; owners responsible and cooperative; so much to see and do in the area. If we go to Escalante again we want to stay in their lovely abode again.

This was a great getaway and convenient to everything that we wanted to see like, Grand Staircase, Capitol Reef, Posey Lake, Barker Recreational Area, Panorama Trail, Mossy Cave and more. It was nice and spacious for the two of us and we loved the walk in shower in the ensuite. The owners are next door and readily accessible to help.

This is a gorgeous property with kind and hospitable hosts. The home has been remodeled with a great deal of care and thoughtfulness. It’s in a perfect location. Highly recommend!

This two story house is on a quiet road a short drive from town. Incredible view of night skies, very comfortable with very cool furniture and design. Ricky and Sandy were great hosts, and provided very helpful insights into places to see, along with guidelines about how to get there.

We loved it! We will be back!

Great house! Suited our family of four’s needs perfectly as a home base for exploring Grand Staircase National Monument. Sandy gave great recommendations for trails.

The property was very nice and located just outside town. The view was lovely. The swamp cooler worked well but was quite noisy.

No surprises. All is as advertised and very nice. Meticulously maintained. High end appliances, interesting architecture and landscaping. For example, the best and sharpest knives I’ve ever seen in a VRBO. Helpful host for our natural history interests. Nice patio for sitting outside and enjoying the views.

One of the magical things about the Escalante area is the light and the sky -- you experience both things when you're inside and outside La Luz. The house is comfortable with great places to sit and read, well-appointed kitchen, and a great spot out front for enjoying the landscape. Location is convenient to town, but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle (!!!) of town.

Our family of four stayed here April 16-22 and had a simply wonderful vacation. The views of the dessert, sunrise, night sky and Full Moon were beautiful. The location outside of town made trips to get groceries and access to all of our hikes very easy. Ricki and Sandy were most helpful and have created a lovely living space both inside and out.
