The home is very cute. We enjoyed our stay but a big reason we took a canal home was so that my husband and son could fish outside all night. Turns out the underwater light was broken and the owner said she could not fix it, she would take it off her listing, but it is still on there. The listing says there is a washer and dryer, the dryer does not work. I texted the owner and she said she would look at it after we leave, there is a laundrymat nearby. I was very disappointed with both responses. The countertop ice maker- broken, and my son went to ride a bike- flat tires. I didnt even reach out about the second two items because I dont think anything would have changed. My husband truly felt that he deserved some compensation for not being able to fish. And I truly believe that dryer has been broken, the control panel is malfunctioning, if you get it to turn on it will beep nonstop and you will have much difficulty turning it off. It is a shame, because it is a super cute place, but we were a bit disappointed.

Very nice property good toys kayaks, paddle board, bikes. Short drive to beach quite area. Host very nice as well. Would stay there again. We have 2 dogs they approved also

Was such a great experience! We loved the convenience of the canal at the back of the house, my family swam in it every single day. The kayaks and canoe were also a big hit with my family. We will definitely be back for sure!

This was the absolute most clean property we have ever stayed in and we’ve rented plenty of times before. The owner was very accommodating and the neighbors were as well. The house had everything from cooking utensils, spices, games, outdoor equipment and a cleaned grill!! There was even a fishing spot right around the corner within a one minute walk that was great. We will definitely be staying here again!!!!

With the freezing temps over Christmas, my whole family couldn’t get together. So, we needed a last minute New Years getaway and this property was a perfect fit. Beautifully decorated, in a quiet neighborhood, and with an expansive view, the house was exactly what my family needed. Between yoga by the water and hiking at Galveston Island State Park, I was in outdoorsy heaven. But, I could also keep my teen daughters happy with shopping on the Strand and everyone was delighted with all the delicious eateries. We will definitely be back!

No pressure, clear expectations and directions made this entire visit a breeze. 3 homes total were rented by family and Turtles nest was the best, for us, of them all.

This house is in a fantastic location, especially for fishing and kayaking. We absolutely loved having access to the kayaks and canoe and the kids had endless fun. I loved the cooking area downstairs as well. Everything is exactly as described and this was a very easy, no hassle transition. Terry was very friendly from the jump and we really appreciate him opening his house to us. Definitely will be looking to stay here again! **My sons hauled in 2 oyster toadfish, 1, 15in seatrout, and a 23in drum in the canal here**

We had a delightful stay at Turtle Nest! The house was wonderful and had everything we needed for a lovely long weekend getaway at Jamaica Beach. It was fantastic having so many activities and amenities right at our disposal - from paddling around the bay in the canoe, to grilling dinner in the outdoor kitchen - we enjoyed it all. Everything we needed was provided. And the location is excellent - just minutes to the ocean. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved it! My husband, myself and our 3 kiddos. Ages 4,7,9. We had so much fun fishing and kayaking. The house really had so much more than I expected so I totally over packed. Me and my 9 year old road the beach cruiser bikes around the neighborhood and on the beach. It really was a great time and we look forward to next time!!! Thanks so much!!!

We had such a relaxing time at this property! There are so many amenities making settling in a breeze! All the little and important things were there so you don't find yourself running out for toilet paper right away or buying a blender (like at my last rental). Terry was amazing and met us upon check in. It was nice being shown around and having things pointed out that were helpful. When we had a little hick up with an appliance or any concern at all, he was able to answer or come to assist quickly. The kayaks, canoe and paddle board are a super feature letting you truly take advantage of the canal and all it has to offer. We opted to rent the golf cart as well. Although it doesn't have much "get up and go"... it is helpful for cruising around and getting small trips done without hauling out the big cars. (And it's just fun.) The dog run was great for our dog and it was nice having dog friendly neighbors. Overall we could not have been happier and would not hesitate to rent this location again!

This was a great place to stay! Everything was clean and they had everything you need pots, pans, kitchen utensils, spices, towels, extra pillows, blankets, fishing poles, crab cages, etc. It was great and all the neighbors were very friendly. Also very close to the drive up beach. Would definitely stay there again!

Weather was hotter than normal but we were able to enjoy the scenery, nice neighbors, and the water was perfect for swimming and fishing.

Our stay fir the weekend for our daughter’s graduation was great. The house offered so many amenities , the older ones enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. I loved fishing right there at the house. Terry was so easy to work with.

The house was absolutely perfect. We used the provided crab pots and fishing gear. We caught 2 blue crab and several fish. We cruised around on the golf cart and got amazing restaurant recommendations from the locals. Everyone was kind. We will definitely be back!

We love this property. The owners are easy to get in touch with and try hard to be accommodating.

We rented for a week to escape the snow in Michigan. The home was very clean and tastefully decorated. It was Mardi Gras week and there was even some Mardi Gras decor! The kitchen is well stocked. The weather was cooler, so we didn't get to enjoy the water toys. Owners were very responsive on a few questions/issues we had during the week. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This property has everything you could want. We used the bicycles, kayaks and golf cart. It is in a nice quiet neighborhood. the kitchen was well-stocked. It was nice to be on the deck enjoying coffee or dinner. We will be back.
