Amazing place!

Everything was perfect for our vacation week. The house met all our needs and the backyard became my favorite spot to sit, read, eat, nap and just enjoy nature. The location was so convenient both to downtown and to Lake Tomohawk. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you Pam for your hospitality!

We loved Hattie’s Hideaway! It is in a great location for walking the little town. It’s clean and very well appointed with thoughtful amenities. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and waterfall. We will return undoubtedly.

This was one of our best stays and we've stayed in a LOT of places. The cottage is absolutely adorable and perfectly appointed. Lush thick bath towels, super comfortable mattress, pillow cases were IRONED, lovely furniture. We had all the accoutrements one would need. Small, yet perfect for two. And the grounds, OMG, just wonderful. We enjoyed morning coffee and a little reading in front of the fireplace in the backyard as we listened to the water gurgling from the lovely pond. The owners Pam and Worth are more than precious. Graceful, attentive, engaging, respectful, full of knowledge and suggestions. The location is in the historic district and minutes from a walk to downtown. There's a wonderful bakery across the street which proved to be a tad problematic for my hips but oh, so, so good. The town and neighborhood is so sweet, the people are beyond friendly. Honesty, the entire area is stunning nestled into the mountains with views at every turn. We enjoyed live music and a beer at the White Horse, a really cool little venue. We're vegan and between Black Mountain, Asheville and grocery stores we had plenty of options. We're also trail runners and the trails are next level, albeit not for the faint of hearts; it's a mountain town after all. If you run, hike or walk, check out Black Mountain Running Company. Great service. Asheville is 15 minutes away so very convenient. We saw a great play and enjoyed some amazing food and beer options as well. We'll be back no doubt. God willing, we'll move there someday.

This was one of the nicest properties we have ever rented. Pam was an incredible host. Her house and property were immaculate, charming and well appointed.. She has thought of everything. I mean everything. We felt like we were staying at a dear friend or relatives guest house. It was beautiful and so comfortable. We plan to return. I would rent her place long term if I could. One of our best stays ever. Thank you Pam!

Hattie’s Hideaway was even better than we imagined. Any and everything we needed or wanted was in this sweet little cottage. But don’t let “little” throw you. The cottage lives large. It is immaculate and comfortable and furniture, linens, mattress are high end. Outside of the cottage is just as enjoyable. We enjoyed an afternoon by the fire with our beverages and books. Even though you are in the owners’ backyard, you are given absolute privacy. Enjoyed the town of Black Mountain and its restaurants but the real treasure is Hattie’s. We will return for another getaway.

This quaint little cottage was just perfect for my husband and I to stay. Everything was spotless and we were in need of nothing. They had thought of every detail. We woud have enjoyed the outdoors more but we were there on a rainy week. Would for sure return and recommend! Thank you!

This beautiful cottage getaway was clean, well equipped and oh so cozy & peacefully quiet. Walkable to lovely downtown Black Mountain’s shops and restaurants. Hosts were delightful, helpful and responsive. We can’t wait for our next visit!

This is the sweetest little bungalow in the heart of Black Mountain. Pam and Worth are excellent hosts and have thought of every detail. Thus charming cottage is well appointed with everything you need, and even things you didn’t realize you need! The backyard area is private and peaceful, and we spent 2 chilly Oct evenings by the outdoor fireplace. The shops and restaurants are only a few blocks away, which we enjoyed as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway, and we look forward to returning soon!

This was one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in. Pam thought of everything, and the cottage besides being wonderfully located, quaint and in a gorgeous setting was very well equipped and had everything you needed plus all the extras, just in case ( first aid kits, flashlights, bug spray, umbrellas and foldup chairs!). The furniture and decor was tastefully chosen and the very private garden was beautiful, abounding with birds at the feeders that we enjoyed watching, a lovely patio snd balcony area to enjoy plus a lovely Koi pond and fireplace that hopefully next time we can light. We highly recommend this gorgeous cottage and hope to return. Thank you to our wonderful hosts.

We enjoyed our anniversary stay and could not have had a better experience. We cooked 3 nights so can attest that the kitchen is fully equipped. The cottage is so secluded and private, yet a walkable distance to town and shopping. Pam and Worth were unbelievable hosts and offered great recommendations for dining and activities. Don’t miss out on this beautiful property!

The location is within walking distance of the businesses and restaurants. It was only 2 tenths of a mile from the lake and park. It was a good location for us in that Asheville, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure were only a short drive away.

Hattie's Hideaway is exactly as advertised...and then some. So very relaxing. Peaceful, clean, modern but classic in styling. It is tucked away behind the hosts' house, at the end of a gravel walkway, just as shown in the pictures. But, often the pics are taken from angles that hide less appealing views. Not here. Everything is so picturesque. It's a nature reserve viewable from the bedroom balcony, ideal for coffee and pastries from the bakery that is almost literally across the road. The town is a 5 minute walk, through a lovely, tree lined street (typical of most here). No need to move the car after parking. Relax and enjoy. We really could not have chosen a more perfect relaxing location for our 10th Anniversary. Try to stay more than just one or two nights.... don't be disappointed!

i want to thank Pam and Worth for giving us an unforgettable experience at Hattie's Hideaway. We have never stayed at a vacation home that provided my wife and me with everything we needed. From the super comfortable bed, to the beautiful porch that made having a cup of coffee outside memorable in the morning, to how clean the cottage was when we got there. The pillow were super plush as well as the towels. the cottage was supplied with a backpack, flashlights, a washer and dryer, laundry cleaning supplies. toiletries, home cleaning supplies, zip locks, water bottles and a Keurig coffee maker. There is now way you would get what we received in a hotel. The cottage was away from the hustle and the bustle but perfectly distanced to all the surrounding areas. 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain, 20 minutes to Asheville, 15 minutes to the Blue Ridge Highway, 30 minutes to the Biltmore Estate and 50 minutes form the National Parks. If you are a family of 2, I highly recommend that if you come to visit Black Mountain or its surroundings stay at Hattie's Hideaway. Thank You Pam & Worth!! Carlos & Alina
