The house was very clean and just a short walk to the beach!

Easy access to the beach.

While the picture of proximity to the beach was not correct the walk was not not bad at all, even for the little ones. We had no issues with mosquitoes walking back and forth. The bridge crossover to the beach is in need of some repairs. The house was good just never got used to feeling the sway of a house on stilts lol or the horrible smell of the water in the house. Overall we had a great time and the host is great and super quick to respond.

Booked this place for family and myself. In total there were 12 of us and this place suited our needs well. Not right on the beach but darn near and was just a short walk. Everyone loved it especially the kids

The house was nice but wasnt on beach front like they said it was there’s a water leak coming down the stairs i almost busted my ass twice not to mention it was roaches all in the dishwasher and on the countertop I had to throw away food that i had cooked because it was a roach in the food Ive been here for 3yrs and have never experienced this I paid over a thousand dollars to stay in a roach invested place not to mention i was sick in the hospital but had to get out so I wouldn’t loose my money but to come to this no im very disappointed and wish i could get my refund everything about this beach house was all a lie u are suppose to walk on the beach not on the street this was a terrible experience never ever again

The beach house was clean and had everything we needed. The landlord communicated very quickly for any of our needs and questions. Just a short walk over the dunes to the beach. We were warned about the mosquitoes, and it’s true! Bring some really good mosquito spray if you’re hanging out at the beach house outside! During the day, they weren’t bad at all, but one evening hit they were pretty plentiful. Of course we were told about the build ration system in the house for bathing and cooking, and that that it was safe. but it does have a really fishy smell so just be prepared for that. We went to a couple restaurants located in the area within 10 miles. We went to Clute Texas for breakfast at a place called Sweet Ts. We had Mexican food at a restaurant called El Himador(or something like that). And we had breakfast on our last day at Seahorse Bar and Grill right down the street from us. Looks like a cool place to hang out for drinks as well. All were really good food! We cooked out a couple nights with hamburgers and hotdogs. We cooked a couple meals in the kitchen. Make sure you bring your bottled water and all the groceries needed to cook at the house and on the grill. We had a great time!

Very nice stay and first time back to Surfside in years The weather cooperated until the last day and we enjoyed the short walk to the beach and did not find anything lacking at our rental.

It was clean and cute. Very simple. However, Couches were uncomfortable. Coffee table very wobbly. Kitchen chairs wobbly. Downstairs/outside shower didn't work. And, the smoke detector went off in the middle of the night. The handyman did come by and take care of all issues. (Except the kitchen chairs because i didn't realize this until our last night there) The smoke detector did go off our last night there and i just unplugged it so we wouldn't have to deal with it again. I was under the impression by pics and the comment i read of: a few feet from beach, that it was on the beach. It's not. It wasn't far but i wanted a house with full beach view. But, you make the best of what you get. Jennifer was easy to get ahold of and answered quickly. She sent the handyman quickly to resolve known issues. The home was cute. Beds comfortable. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining because we did enjoy our time there and whenever you stay somewhere else there will be discomforts. I won't stay again, only because it's not on the beach. That's my personal preference. But, i would definitely rent from Jennifer again.

My son had a blast for his 7th birthday! We loved it.. The location and place was just about right for the price listed. We would definitely recommend it to our friends if they want a quick and close getaway! Such a reliever from the hustle of the city and work….

This was an amazing house , it was perfect the family and we enjoyed our time together at the house the beach. We will look forward to renting again in the future. Owner was is so great and was so helpful and the perfect landlord. House nice and clean and we made sure we left it that way. Anyone would enjoy this house and it wsd walking distance to the beach. It really is a very easy walk to the beach. We could easily go back and forth as needed. The beach area was clean and not overly busy. One thing I didn't know about Surfside Beach is that you can drive your car on the beach. It was odd to have cars on the beach but also useful to have an easy way to haul all of your items to the beach. The house itself is small but has everything needed. The kitchen is well stocked. Our only challenge was low water pressure, which I hear is common for the island location. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to friends.

The # to ck in should have been in the email..The skeeters are out of control. We won't be back. Bloody bites. Skeeters are only complaint. Videos & tvs all worked WELL. THE game table was a hit!@ back porch nice.

The renting of the actual property was easy and the property manager was easy to contact and responded quickly. However, the first thing I noticed when we got there was an old box spring under the house growing mosquitos. The house is nothing special and looks tired. We were exhausted after a long day of travel and excitement and when I went to put the kids to bed there were no sheets on the bed. This was extremely annoying but I guess it’s good to know they are cleaned. However, the most annoying part of this entire experience was definitely check out day. Despite what you are told there is a book with everything you have to do before you leave. So, instead of getting to play on the beach in the morning I got to spend 3 hours doing dishes and laundry instead of relaxing on my vacation. I could of saved money and stayed home to do that! I was never told about any “laundry option” and I read another review that touched on this and the manager’s response was that you could just leave the dishes in the dishwasher and the dryer but that’s not true according to the rules in the book left in the house. It says towels and sheets must be washed and folded and put away and that dishes must be cleaned not just put in the dishwasher. I’m not actually sure what the cleaning crew does because there were fur balls rolling around on the floor and dishes in the dishwasher when we got there. Conclusion: Bring disposable plates, Silverware and cups so you don’t have to deal with the dishes and bring your own pillows and sleeping bags and towels so you don’t have to get stuck doing tons of laundry on check out day. There is the threat of $50 charges for each little thing that you may accidentally forget like leaving a wet washcloth in the shower so beware! It was nice to be close to the beach though. I think we may try a different house next time.

This property was perfect for a weekend stay. It’s a smaller property but was just enough since you spend the majority of the time at the beach!

This place was just exactly like the pictures!! Amazing view from top deck/balcony, plenty of room for all of our family and short walk to the beach.Hoping to book here again next summer!!!

I did not expect was the house to smell humid or wet rug the entire time. My check-in process could have been better considering I booked weeks in advance and made full payment upon reservation, I did not receive access information until I arrived at the property and upon seeing the information nowhere accessible I messaged the owner. Jennifer was very quick to respond, however, it was at that point upon reading the information just provided that I find out of the need to bring mosquito repellant. A very important thing considering the mosquitoes are a good inch long (on the small side) and the container with "toys" is a quarter full with water and mosquitoes. The internet connection was extremely slow and I was outside a good 10 minutes before I was even able to get the access code to unlock the front door. Coming in you find the place that appears clean, and I did not confirm this considering we were rushing to get in the water (as expected). I did not open the shower or check the bathtub, or check the mattresses or blankets to see if they were clean or not. I assumed they would be considering I was charged the $100 cleaning fee. It wasn't until after our return from the beach and before I stepped in the shower that I noticed the sand on the edges of the shower and the dirty floor, same thing with the tub. Soon thereafter, before calling it a night, I find the mattress pad with a disgusting brown stain. I had seen some folded blankets on the edge of the bed upon arriving, however, I thought these were extra blankets. I did not expect these to be the blankets I would need to use to set my bed, and every bed, for the night. The beds were covered with a comforter already. I had to simply use those blankets over the mysterious brown spot as I was afraid that if I took the mattress cover off, the underlying mattress would be so much worse. This was in the master bedroom which I shared with my 10 year old niece, she is now full of bed bug bites. My brother slept in the bed next to the bunk beds and his pillow smelled like urine that he had to throw it over to one of those beds to get the stench away. The water smells as though it is reused septic water. The property description states this is water from the water well, however, we are used to using water from wells in my parent's ranch that doesn't stink as this. We had to wash all laundry and leave house clean for next guest yet we paid the cleaning fee for doing the owner's work and responsibility

The home was so close to the beach you could here the waves! Access to beach was so simple and the home itself was perfect! Definitely recommend for a family or just a getaway for two😁😎

We had a great time staying at this house. It's a short walk to the beach which was great. You got a great breeze and could see the ships on the intercoastal. The stairs outside where a little steep for my 70+ year old parents but not we handled it great. Overall it was amazing family get away. We look forward to coming again. Thank you

We will definitely be broken with you again we have a home next weekend in Lake Conroe but we really love it out here so you’re gonna be seeing a lot of it thank you so much again

We have stayed at this property 3 times. Jennifer is so flexible. We had to change our dates 4 times I think. They do a great job keeping up with the maintenance of the property. It is such a hard place to keep up with the ocean. It is a great location. We love the 1 minute walk to the beach. Each time we have stayed we have taken our dog. It was perfect. Jennifer communicates so very well. Her response is very quick. We love this property and will be back as soon as we can!

Everything is good except for plumbing. Smell kind of bad when turn on water in guess bath.

The house itself was great! Except for the fire ants that were literally all over the yard. Part of the reason we got this place was for the yard for our dogs and then we couldn’t even use it due to so many fire ants. I ended up with 50 plus bites just trying to take my dogs to potty. While the location being close to the beach was nice, you almost had to go through other people yards to get there. We enjoyed our stay even though there was a whole day we were without water with two infants. That was definitely stressful. And then to top it all off we were hit with a $60 charge for a laundry fee. They said that there was 6 loads of laundry that were not done when we spent all morning making sure it was done. There wasn’t 6 loads of laundry even in total. Other then fire ants and surprise fee’s we did enjoy our stay.

Between the ants and mosquitoes we could not sit on the balcony and just enjoy the view. For the price per day I expected the home to be in better condition. We enjoyed our time in Surfside Beach just wish we could have enjoyed the accommodations a lil more
