This was our second time staying at American Spirit and we already booked our next trip to come back next year! The house was clean and provided everything we needed for 8 couples. We enjoyed boating and floating in the lake during the day and the fire pit at night!

Our church small group of 16 has stayed at Norris Lake every year for 8 years. We were looking for a home that met our standards and was not as steep of an incline to the water, and American Spirit checked all our boxes!

Our family including three generations of adults and kids of all ages had a wonderful stay! Jon is very responsive and helpful. Everything you could need to make amazing meals in the kitchen. Lots of sleeping options and plenty of bathrooms. The lake is gorgeous and clean. Highly recommend a speed boat for endless fun! The house is tucked away where you don’t get boat traffic or noise. Early mornings were especially peaceful with the mist that the Smoky Mountains are known for…..perfect to sit on the deck in the quiet of the morning with a cup of coffee. We want to go back!!

We had a fantastic stay at American Spirit. Big house, plenty of room for all 18 of our grandkids and parents. Love the lake and the dock. No cell service given the hills and location, but wifi worked well for everyone. Very isolated at the end of the road, but that ensured no one snooping around. Would have appreciated an easier way to fill the boat with gas, but we made it work. Fantastic stay, fun had by all.

We had a fantastic time as a family enjoying the communal spaces in Amercan Spirit. The house is lovely, well appointed and well maintained. Jon was fantastic to communicate with. This is a great home for families or couples to vacation together in.

We have stayed here twice now and totally love it! We will be back!

We did a business retreat with the top leaders on my business team. We had a total of 22 guests. The nine bedrooms works perfectly. Everything was beautifully well-kept. Great accommodations. Would highly recommend.

I rented the house with some friends. We were there to fish in March. The property was perfect because there was 3 different levels for everyone to have their own space and activities. The property managers were great to work with. The only issue was the electricity to the boat dock in the wintertime was not readily available. Other than that it was a good experience and a relatively short walk to the water from the house. I'm glad we had wi-fi and televisions throughout the house. The kitchen was stocked well with enough pots and pans for 17 people. We had two refrigerators and two stoves on the main floor and one refrigerator on the bottom floor. Everything was used by us during the trip. Great lodging..

This was a wonderful home for our family Christmas this year. It was great to have all my children and grandchildren in one location for 2 days. The kitchen was great with 2 microwaves, 2 stoves, and 2 refrigerators and large enough that we could all be cooking at the same time. The bedrooms were comfortable and everyone said their beds were comfortable. The outside looked very inviting but since it was January, we did not explore the outside. The Wi Fi worked well for most of my children and many of us did not have cell service since we were in the Jellico Mountains. The roads are very narrow, curvy, and not very good. It would be helpful if they had street signs on them so you can find your way a little easier. The living room TV worked very well, but would have been nice if the bedroom TVs had been hooked up. There was some snow on the deck going from the driveway to the house, some salt or removal would have been nice. Bathrooms were nice and it was great to have so many available and all seemed to work without any issues. A suggestion would be to have at least one bathroom on the main level with grab bars in the bathtubs for the safety of older adults, like me. Overall, we had a wonderful time and everything was great.

We enjoyed the property in our family get together. We have a large family and appreciated meals together at the two large tables and counter stools in the dining area. There is plenty of parking for large groups. The American and God-centered themes in the house were appreciated.

I rented this house for a large family Thanksgiving get together in part because it had two ovens and two dishwashers. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that one oven was totally missing it’s lower heating element making it useless for baking and one of the dishwashers did not clean very well. The water temperature in the kitchen was not adequate to properly wash dishes. The listing states all sheets and towels are washed in 140 degree water, but there was no 140 degree water coming out of the kitchen faucet, or any other faucet. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, etc. The house itself was satisfactory. The views were lovely and the kids loved the game room. The wifi was strong, there was a house phone. The beds were comfortable, however one of them had a broken leg, which made the bed lopsided. The rooms were great for families. Of the 9 bathrooms, three did not have enough water pressure to use the showers. One bath tub faucet dripped constantly which was very annoying.

We were 23 family members - 4 generations ranging from 2 to 83. The house was fantastic and met all of our needs. The kitchen was one of the best-equipped that we’ve seen in 8 years of annual “Fakesgiving” gatherings - we cooked all of our meals at the house with plenty of room for everyone to work around each other in the kitchen, and more than enough seating inside for meals. Having to make our own beds was new - but I can see how it would save time for the housekeepers at check out. We would definitely return to this property.

Could not have asked for a better property for our church’s men’s retreat. Beautiful views and awesome hosts!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the property. The kitchen was and dining space was perfect for our large weekend retreat with friends & family, the rooms and bathrooms were plenty for our 10 adults & 17 children, and the lake was gorgeous. Working with the owners was a breeze as they were responsive, accommodating, and generous. We can’t wait to go back!

We have been coming to Norris Lake for 20 years and this was one of our favorite houses. The house size and layout was perfect for our extended family and the location on the lake was perfect. We would gladly stay here again in the future.

Everyone had a fantastic week. The four stars for the on-line listing was simply our presumption that the slope down to the lake appeared far more gentle in the pictures than it actually was.. The steps down to the dock could really use hand railings. But that was just me, a 72 y/o with breathing issues. Everyone loved the slide and dock and just floating around. So peaceful and beautiful. The hot tub was a fav of the young adults. And the balconies held a crowd day and night. Wish we could do it every year!

This house was very nice and the lake is the most beautiful and cleanest lake I have ever seen. It is quite a trek to get to the house, but worth the trip. The whole family had a ball on the slide and the dock. The boat we rented was in need of some minor repair, and the trash was not picked up all week which made it challenging to try to keep the raccoons out of it. Even with diligent use of the bungee cords, they still made it in. Overall, this was a perfect vacation spot and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there!

Absolutely beautiful home. Very clean, well-stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances, all linens supplied. There were 22 of us which includes our children and their children. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The distance away from the closest grocery store and the length of the gravel road traveled to get to the property would be the only negatives I would mention. However, I wouldn't hesitate coming back sometime in the future.

We had a fantastic week at American Spirit! We were a party of 17 and everyone enjoyed themselves. I would definitely recommend this home for a family reunion; plenty of space to spread out.

Wonderful home in a beautiful secluded area of the lake. Perfect for going off grid and enjoying time away with friends and family. We never left the property and never got bored! The house was nice and had everything we needed. We did a lot of cooking while we were there and the kitchen had everything thing we needed. The kitchen equipment was great quality unlike the what you usually find in a vacation rental.

Each floor of this wonderfully situated home has a living room, wonderful to give everyone a bit of flex space from time to time. The main level kitchen and dining room spaces were perfect for the weekend. All meals were cooked at home for everyone, a large group, and the space was accommodating for meal preparation and sit-down dinners. The laundry room was perfect for the large group as well - the two dryers were very appreciated. American Spirit, a beautiful and wonderful place on all counts!

House easily accommodated our family reunion of 30. Plenty of space on each floor to spread-out both inside and out. Kitchen is well stocked. We cooked 6 of the 7 days we stayed and had ample space to prep, serve and all eat together. Nicely decorated, comfortable beds, plenty of furnishing and linens. Very private on end of road with beautiful lake view, nice shoreline and wooded area along with great fire pit for orasting marshmallows. Jon was very responsive to al concerns and addressed them right away. Look forward to staying again in the future.

The house was fantastic. Enough room for all 30 of us. The kids had a great time adults did to. Will be looking to doing this again. Thanks so much for letting us rent it.

Our family rents a property every December to celebrate Christmas. There are 15 members in our family. All agreed that this was the best property yet. We loved the privacy and so many things to do there.

likely to stay again. Kitchen well stocked. Was able to cook for entire group easily. Good view. Beds comfortable. Hot water pressure weak. no hot water in middle floor bath off main room. found clothes and food under beds. Couch too soft. Couch hard to get up from for older family. walk to door slick in morning, need grit surface. A later check out would be great. remote for tv missing in main room.

8 of us who all knew each other from university of Tennessee stayed here for a weekend. House was better than the description and pictures let on. Very clean. Great location. Everything about it was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Great property for families and friends to gather. Lots to do and everything you need for a comfortable stay!

Our large family of 15, 7 children with spouse and our mom, have been gathering for a Fall trip for around 35 years. Our first time to Norris Lake. We've stayed previously in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We really enjoyed our stay here with plenty of space for all! The kitchen was the best stocked of any place we've ever stayed!! The place was very clean as well. Only con was the winding roads to get there!

The house is in a great location, we felt like we were in a private cove. It was nice not having to walk down three flights of stairs to get to the dock! The house was clean and there's plenty of room for lots of families to spread out. We enjoyed it very much. We did call the property manager because there were six ceiling lights burned out in the kitchen and we could have used more light (no lights over the stove either). No one ever came to fix it while we were there. Also, the kitchen faucet needs replaced, the water comes out in such a thin stream and so hard that you get soaked when you try and wash dishes, your hands, or food. Also, some of the frying pans need to be replaced, they were badly scratched teflon and we didn't want to use them. There were plenty of dishes and silverware.

Beautiful, spacious home with plenty of room to gather as a large group, or seclude yourself for quiet time. Kitchen was well equipped. Bottom floor fridge was handy so you don't have to go back to the top floor for snacks and beverages while enjoying your day on the dock. Enjoyed the quietness of the cove. Overall a great rental.

American Spirit was great! It was seculded and quiet with plenty of parking. The house was clean and had a good room layout. The kitchen was well supplied. The location on the water was great! No wake zone, and just a little current kept the water from being stagnant. While it didn't detract from our vacation, there were a few things that gave us a curve ball, which can be eliminated by owner or just being prepared. There was a major temp difference (15-20 degree) between top and bottom floors. Some of the bottom rooms shut the air vents and still layered extra clothes on for bedtime. By evening time, the kitchen was hot. A few fans would have been nice to help circulate. The internet was less than stellar. We had one family member that needed to work and the connection almost caused them to go home early. Luckily we had prepared and brought a hotspot and it worked out. Jon and team are great to work with! Everyone in our group said this was the best vacation yet! Highly recommend!
