The house had attention to details and the windows facing into the kitchen were amazing. We enjoyed the back porch and loved the well stocked kitchen. There was plenty of space for family to sit down to dinner together. It was farther from the beach and pool but we didn’t really mind since there was a golf cart. The park almost across the street was great. Would like to see you add a few more items for children in the park for 1 to 3 age range as well. As vacation property owners myself I think I would say time to replace throw pillows, some rugs etc to give it a perfect 5 it deserves. Lovely decorating too. We would stay there again.

The Anchor was the perfect rental for our group of 11. We appreciated the golf cart, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and grill. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals easily and having 2 dishwashers was life-changing! Super easy to throw a load of laundry in (if necessary) in the stackable washer dryer in the basement that was super quiet and could even be run while people slept in the nearby bedrooms. The number of bathrooms (3) made it so that each family in our group could claim their own bathroom and for us that worked out great. It was also awesome to find luggage racks in each closet for easy access to luggage or if you prefer unloading your suitcase into the empty closet with hangers provided was an option. It was a first for me and a nice surprise to find TVs in each of the upstairs bedrooms having stayed at a few other properties in the neighborhood. We found the kitchen table perfect for gathering and everyone could fit! The screened in porch on the back of the house was also a nice quiet place to gather or for morning coffee. The Anchor was a great choice, along with the Beachwalk in general and we hope to be back someday. Thank you for arranging a beautiful home.

This home was tastefully decorated, perfectly clean, very comfortable, and incredibly well appointed. It had everything you could possibly need during your stay. Definitely a 10/10!

We were three families, 6 adults and 5 kids. Highlights: good house, well stocked with lots and pans, close to Chicago so easy to get to/from. It was nice that there was a community pool and close access to the national park and Lake Michigan. The house was built in 2017, so everything is new and nice. The kids rooms are downstairs with their own living room and bathroom. The adults rooms are way upstairs on the second story, so it would be great for families whos kids are a little older. Ours were 3-6.
Cons: We probably wouldn’t have booked this property if the following had been made clear to us: the water in the community lake is disgusting. It had blue green algae and we didn’t feel comfortable letting our kids near it. The listing said it had access to a private lake, which is true, but it’s unusable for swimming. Some people used kayaks to fish and it was ok. The kayaks and other “sports equipment” that’s in the listing is not actually owned by the property and you have to book it through the community’s activity center. Other people booked the boats all day so we had no access to them. The house was not cleaned before we came; the floors were black and we mopped everything. They had put fresh towels on our beds and wiped the counters but the rest of the house was not clean. The house supposedly came with a “starter pack” which should have included toilet paper for each bathroom, 1 paper towel roll, 5 trash bags, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, dish soap. We did not have the trash bags, dishwasher pods, dishwasher soap, or laundry pods. The management was ineffective and rude. There was one nice woman, but she did not seem to be able to get anything done. All of the smoke detectors in the house were broken (pulled down from the ceiling). We called management 2x everyday about this list of issues and were told over and over that someone would come out. No one ever showed.
It’s frustrating because this place has the potential to be really good, but they aren’t managing it well

I booked this property when I saw there was a short window available of 4 nights only. We had 6 adults, 2 teens and 5 under the age of 8. The sleeping quarters for the kids were amazing. The kitchen was extremely well stocked - walk in pantry made it so easy to store all the foodstuffs for three families.
The location being so close to the playground was a godsend. We could watch the littles walk to and from directly from the screened in porch. Internet speed seemed very slow however I'm sure 8 cell phones and 5 ipads may have been part of issue !!
The golf cart was also a big hit - everyone needed "one last ride" before we left. Would highly recommend this property.

The Anchor's kitchen was well outfitted with cooking gear, dishes and utensils of decent quality. We have stayed in a number of Beachwalk houses and this one had the most kitchen storage. The house was well furnished and immaculate. It was conveniently located near the parking overflow lot for our extra autos. The children especially liked the two bunkbed bedroom. The queen sized bunkbed room next to it was ideal for the parents of the youngest children. The landscape was attractive. If there is were any "wants", it would be that there would be a third bathroom on the second floor so that adults couples would not have to co-share a bathroom and that the Xfinity system be upgraded with newer equipment. It is not practical to add another bathroom, but the Xfinity box is an easy fix. Overall, an excellent beach house to rent.

There was plenty of space to spread out and also great spaces to come together. The kitchen had a pantry for storage, a massive island, and it was all open to the rest of the main floor. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch and around the fire pit. My only complaint has to be the lack of storage for clothes in the bedrooms; we had to live out of our suitcases. We don’t rent the same house twice, but if we did, this would the one.

Perfect getaway for family and friends. World class beach located on Lake Michigan just minutes away from the house with easy access using the golf cart. Perfect pool, park and amenities for kids of all ages. Absolutely perfect!

Great house! Clean and plenty of room. Golf cart was perfect for carrying items to beach but still a short walk. Only complaint was the fact that the home was not ready by the 4:00 check in but was shortly thereafter. Side note, beware of ridiculously hot sand at the beach! Wear your tennis shoes!!

Beautiful house. It was perfect for 3 families with young children. The only thing that was frustrating was our check in time was 4pm and the cleaning crew was still cleaning when we arrived and we weren’t able to check in until almost 5p.

The Anchor was very tastefully decorated and well appointed. Conveniently located near Sandcastle park so the kids always had something to do. I will say it is very easy to hear your neighbors in the next bedroom so if you’re a light sleeper you may want to bring a sound machine. The beds were comfortable, plenty of room for 14 of us!

A beautiful home inside, but some disappointing surprises
The home inside could not have been nicer. The kitchen is beautiful and has professional grade appliances. The Beachwalk private community has nice playgrounds, kids and full-size pools, a small private lake and boardwalk access to a relatively private area on a wonderful long sandy beach on Lake Michigan.
Unfortunately, there were also some unpleasant surprises. Out of season check-in on weekdays appears to begin and end at 4:00 PM. Fortunately, we called in route and were able to arrange our check in over the phone with the property manager. This is when we were first informed that the street in front of our rental had just been blacktopped, so we would have to park two blocks away in the nearest overflow parking lot and walk our belongings to the rental home. That took four trips back and forth to our car and minivan to unload what we needed to function. When we went shopping the next day we faced another two trips with our groceries from the overflow parking lot. After 3:00 PM on our second day we were finally allowed to park our car and minivan at our rental property.
The front porch and the fully screened back porch were unusable due to the layer of dirt on them. (There are open excavations on one side of the rental property and across the street in the back of the rental property, which may have been the source of the dirt.) Three phone calls with the property managers assured us that the porches would be promptly cleaned, but they remained filthy throughout our stay.
We charged the golf cart overnight and the gauge indicated that it was fully charged. However, it only operated at a fitful crawl on downgrades and had to be pushed on upgrades, making it unusable. We reported the problem to property management upon checking out.
Overall, the pluses outweigh the negatives and we had an enjoyable vacation. However, given what we paid I was surprised that we had to put up with the problems with which we were confronted.

This rental house is beautiful, it has so many options for seating and all of the rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. We all felt very comfortable in the house and believed it was very safe. We ran into a small problem with the golf cart not charging but after calling, someone from maintenance came quickly and fixed the issue! It’s a great neighborhood and community!

The best part is the screened in porch with windows into the kitchen. We had 9 people stay and had plenty of room, and hosted dinner for 24 people. All had a place to sit and eat with room to spare. I cannot say enough good things about The Anchor. Beachwalk Resort is a perfect place to have a relaxing beach vacation.

Our Memorial weekend family getaway could not have been better, especially with our choice of The Anchor as our place to stay. The house was very up to date, clean and well equipped with a magnificent kitchen and eating area, more then enough sleeping options for three families (six adults and six children) to also have their individual privacy each with their own full bathroom, even a large stock of games and DVD movies for the adults and the kids to use. The location was close to a wonderful park that the children totally enjoyed, and a great low-traffic area where they could ride their bikes and place catch. The pool and beach were also wonderful including the golf cart for transportation there and back. The property even had beach chairs and floats for our use. Any issues were immediately handled by the management friendly staff. The resort was in the process of fixing the basketball area which was underwater (and unavailable) due to excessive rains earlier in the week, and the tennis courts needed some real work. Other than that, this is a great place to get away for some peace and quite and relaxation. There even was a firepit at the house that we enjoyed for roasting a few marshmallows with the kids. If you go to the Beachwalk Resort, try and reserve The Anchor as your place to stay.

The Anchor is absolutely gorgeous. It looks like it is out of a magazine. The kitchen is amazing and stocked with literally everything you could possibly need to cook with. I would highly recommend The Anchor to anyone looking for a great vacation spot. The only one tiny suggestions would give is to put dressers in the rooms. There is really no where to put things that aren’t hangable and a second refrigerator in the garden level would be helpful. Minor things that would help but otherwise amazing beautiful place!!

Unfortunately when the youngest awoke at 5:20 am, it woke the entire home as even normal talking travels throughout the entire home. I’m sure you were made aware of the ice system in the refrigerator so hopefully you have addressed that. We loved having the games and extra chairs we found downstairs and the kitchen gave us plenty of room. Our only suggestion is that you could use a baby gate for the main floor stairs to lower level area. We went out and bought one which was a lifesaver, literally😁.

The house was brand new, beautifully decorated, and incredibly spacious and very comfortably slept 14 guests. We loved each part of the house -especially the screened in back porch! With a short weekend, we didn't have a chance to utilize the fire pit, but this rental is definitely set up for a group to enjoy the space! The resort really made our stay amazing. We enjoyed riding the golf cart around and interacting with others within the resort! The nearness to the beach will bring us back to stay again, i would definitely recommend!

So here's the deal. The property is new and you can tell. Everything is clean and the owners clearly have put a lot of thought into the guests who stay there comfort. They had Tupperware to borrow in the kitchen, games in the closet to play, lots of extra towels and a nice toasty electric fireplace. Our family has two under two and we went there with another family who also has two under two. Our friends took the second floor and we took the basement. The common area was the main floor. It's great if you are looking for this type of set up. (Sidenote we all froze in the basement the first night until we realized every single vent was closed. Our kids were already sleeping so it was dark and we didn't discover the issue till the morning). Here was the main issue for us on our November trip. There is a home being built directly across (like 20 steps) from this house. We had construction trucks blocking our van in multiple times. When we put our kids down for noon naps, there was a gigantic cement truck beeping for over two hours going back and forth pouring a foundation. Men were constantly going on our porch to plug in stuff. It was awkward and annoying since there are no window treatments on the first floor. Not the least bit relaxing. We were there Thursday to Sunday and the guys were there even on Saturday - dropping LOUD concrete forms. I'm sure this will be fine in the summer, but it should have been advertised because it was not a relaxing day time get away at all.

So here's the deal. The property is new and you can tell. Everything is clean and the owners clearly have put a lot of thought into the guests who stay there comfort. They had Tupperware to borrow in the kitchen, games in the closet to play, lots of extra towels and a nice toasty electric fireplace. Our family has two under two and we went there with another family who also has two under two. Our friends took the second floor and we took the basement. The common area was the main floor.
