This is a hotel room converted into a rental. The room is on the 1st floor right next to lobby and elevator so it was difficult to sleep and having the bed right when you walk in by the door made it worse. Room was dated and showed a lot of wear & tear- cups and bowls with cracks, chips and scratches, bathroom door was difficult to shut and open. Most annoying was the shower - which leaked into bathroom floor, water never got hot and 1 shower head was too high to reach so forced to use handheld which had weak water pressure. It would have been nice to get a hot shower. Expected a much nicer rental for the price.

Let me start by saying we are extremely picky and critical… Perfect place! Far nicer than a hotel room, Cove resort is extremely well managed, tons of parking if you go way back in the lot and on the back of the resort, one block from the YMCA, Culver’s/McD, BK, KFC 5 mins away, right next to the lake downtown. 5 minute walk anywhere downtown. Re parking… We went to a concert near Racine Saturday night and assumed we’d have a hassle finding parking when we returned late… not true. 3 big parking lot sections in the front and lots of open spaces on the back of the property. Condo location within the resort is ideal! Immediately inside the lobby: easiest condo in the resort to unload and load up, elevator and stairs to pool just a few feet away, coffee bar/lounge and resort convenience store right next to the condo, patio overlooking pool, brand new comfy furniture/bed, tons of pillows, well cared for. 2 TV’s! Stove, utensils/plates/glasses, full fridge. Noise wasn’t an issue! The Cove attracts a nice crowd, families and couples, not partiers. You hear no more noise than the usual hotel kind and after about 10:00, it was awfully quiet, even on the weekend. Pool area was awesome…staff was very good and checked all guests to ensure they were truly resort patrons. Well-behaved families and kids! Ok fitness center and if you want more, again, just hit the Y one block away. This place is great. Owner Kris is extremely responsive. STAY HERE!!!

The Cove is nice, the check in going through VRBO was easy and the host was responsive. I did not like the location of the unit. Its not a one bedroom, it is a studio. The door to the unit opens and the lobby is right there- so anyone who is standing in the lobby can see into your room, and the bed is right when you enter. I also would have saved a substantial amount of money booking directly through the hotel- and I viewed another room that seemed to me to be just as large. I wouldn’t go through vrbo again for this type of stay

Myself and two friends stayed the weekend at this VRBO at The Cove of Lake Geneva. Location is fabulous. Easy walking to downtown, even in the colder weather. Easy parking for us all with parking passes. The attached restaurant/bar (Lake City Social) has good food/drinks at a nice price. The condo itself was well appointed with furnishings, with the basic condiments, glassware and plates in the kitchen. A regular coffee pot and Keurig k-cup (with some coffee in stock) also available. Overall it was a great stay, hoping to do it again sometime soon!

Great location, easy walk to downtown. 24 hour gift shop was great for late night snacking. On site restaurant and bar was great.

The room was great! In the heart of everything. Couldn’t ask for a better place.

Had a good time. Nice condo. Location was GREAT. Only a couple cons. Constant hum. We were right next to the pool and think it may have been from the venting system. Didn’t bother our sleeping though. The bed was hard. Our pool keys didn’t work either but people let us in so it didn’t create a problem. All in all would go again.

This is our second year staying at The Cove and the first time renting this property. The location of the unit is fantastic - loved how close to the pool & exits it is. The unit itself is well stocked, clean, has everything you need and was comfortable for our family of 4. The host responded to all questions we had within minutes, which was great! Future traveler tips for the property in general: Bring a lanyard for the room key (or key chain), ear plugs as the hotel staff thinks it’s okay to vacuum halls during the middle of the night (this is at no fault of the unit owner) and pool towels (the hotel itself ran out a lot). Thanks again for hosting us - we hope to be back next year!

Only giving 4 stars to check in and cleanliness because our room was not cleaned when we checked in. Kris made sure this was handled immediately and our stay was great after that

Great condo!! Clean, well stocked, pretty and very comfortable. Owner was very responsive. It did get a little noisy due to location but nothing bad. We will definitely stay again!

The Condo was not cleaned well at all The Toilet set rocked was not secure at all The Balcony was filthy and had huge exhaust fans that blew hot air at you. The airconditioning was horrible if you did not put it on high you could not sleep in bedroom because it was to hot and then you would freeze to death if you went to sit on couch.

The only draw back to our stay was its location right next to the main elevator. Intoxicated people were very loud and obnoxious up until about 3am.

The property owner was very nice and helpful. She was gracious to let us change dates too. A few notes:This unit is the ONLY one at The Cove not in their rental program. What that means is You cannot call the front desk for extra towels, broken remote, lost keys, etc. the Cove has no responsibility to assist with normal “front desk” things. This unit is located directly by the bar, elevator and front desk. If you are a light sleeper this may not be the unit for you. All outlets do not allow for plug ins. I had to use a book to prop up my phone charger. The owner expects you to completely clean the unit or you will get a big cleaning fee bill. We had the all of our garbage in one bag, cleaned out the refrigerator, put the pull out couch away, put all towels in hampers and got an additional cleaning fee. The only thing we left for the cleaning people was our bag of trash and a broken blow up mattress that we didn’t put away. That cost us an additional $65. There are no notes or signs stating where to take trash and that it is our responsibility. Be sure to ask where that is. All in all it was a nice stay. Owner was nice. Unit was clean, but needed updating. I would be sure the cleaning expectations are clearly outlined before renting so you are not surprised like I was.

Perfect location for an early Spring get away. The unit is right in the tourist district, connected to Sprecher's restaurant and a quick walk to Gino's Pizza, so weather is not an issue when looking for a close spot to eat. Unit is freshly painted with some cute Spring decor, but could use some updating. Bathroom, although clean, is showing it's age. It's the little things: used coffee grounds in the coffee pot, stained coffee mugs, hair dryier needs replacing, kitchen and bathroom fixtures are old. Either the Keurig and ceiling fan don't work or we couldn't figure how to operate either one. We found out later we could have booked directly to the hotel for a lot less for the same size room.

Close to everything- within walking distance to shops, restaurants & lake

This was a very nice property right next to the downtown attractions of Lake Geneva. Loved that everything (coffee shops, bars, boutiques) was in walking distance. The only hiccup we had was in the check-in process. We did not receive any directions from the property manager on check-in and since it is privately owned, the front desk person was unsure on how to help. I would’ve appreciated direction notification/email before we got there.

Just a beautiful place and you could not beat the location to all things (in walking distance) in Lake Geneva!

Room was very overpriced, I would not stay there again at same rate. Room was just off the lobby and situated directly above the complex boiler/utility room which made the floors of the room unusually warm...not fun in August.

Kris’ is place is impeccably decorated with lots of character and amazing updates (stainless steal appliances, dishwasher, granite counter tops, new bedding) compared other units at The Cove. Kris was very communicative and texted back promptly when we had issues. The location of the unit was right off the lobby area at the property, which is convenient when accessing amenities such as the indoor/outdoor pools and game room. The only down side to the location of the unit is it is right off a communal space, so when guests are convening in the evening, there is a noise issue. The bed is at the front of the condo space right by the front door, so we ended up utilizing the pull out couch at the back of the unit after the first night in order to be able to sleep before 10 pm. As far as air conditioning issues mentioned in other reviews, we did experience the heat, but it was also between 85 and 90° outside. Kris has installed a fan that can use to help the airflow within the studio condo. In the bathroom, also mentioned in earlier reviews, the spa tub is dated with a permanent gray/greenish build up around the jets, so I didn’t feel comfortable using the spa feature incase additional mold would be released in the pipes when turning on. The Aveda products Kris provided for the bath was a nice touch! It has also been it brought to Kris’ attention that the coffee maker as well as the Keurig are both not working... which led to some unexpected coffee trips to Starbucks. The porch since the area was an issue due to the bug build up, dirt, temperature, and dated furniture. The east wall of the porch has a large 4 ft. sq. vent that is apart of the entire exhaust system in the building. Assuming this exhaust causes the amount of dirt buildup and the 10 degree higher swing in temperature. It simply needs to be power washed, maintained better, and hopefully the exhaust situation from the vent can be addressed with the building. As seen in photos, the unit has great view of the pool versus a parking lot, but if was disappointing we didn't get to enjoy the space due to its condition. The lobby of The Cove has undergone a recent renovation and the accessibility from the property to DT Lake Geneva is unbeatable. For the Cove to boast itself as a full resort the outside amenities need updating. We enjoyed off site mini-golf ($9.00/person) and the public beach ($8.00/person) all within walking distance.

We were close to everything, only drove once during our stay. We loved walking the shore paths and we thought the ‘mailboat’ was fun. There are so many great restaurants all around. Also, the Cive has a beautiful pool area!!

The outdoor balcony table and chairs were dirty; used towels to sit on the chairs and didn't put anything on the table. The bed pillows were kind of yellowed, and the blankets available for use on the couch and gross old stains on them. This really downgraded how we thought about the place. Also, the owner expected us to play maid before we left; I think there was a cleaning fee we paid for someone else to clean up. Kind of tacky.
