Great experience, but the house could use some deep cleaning. Cob webs hanging

The property was just as described, nice house on a nice private piece of property.. Great views and great location.. we should have looked at the listing a little more closely.. We were disappointed about several things. There was no dishwasher, there was no washer or dryer. The bbq was a cheap small charcoal grill on its last legs. We made it work but a few up grades mentioned above would make a big difference.

Spent a wonderful Thanksgiving week with family at the cabin. I had no issues and view was great. I would stay here again. Some reviewers mentioned the driveway being a little hard to navigate, but we had no issues with it. I could see if the driveway had ice on it that it would be a challenge to drive, but we didn't have that experience so no issues for us and our mini-Van on the trip. Thanks, Mary.

We spent less than an hour at that cabin. It smelled like 100 year old house. There was mold on the toilet covers in both restrooms. It was impossible to be inside. It was a nightmare. I don't know what happened, but it was a disaster.

We loved the house so much. The view.is gorgeous and the house is too. Felt right at home. We wanted secluded and we got it. We had a great time and the best part is we could bring our dog who loved it too!!

Beautiful view of the mountains. Family of 7 fit comfortably. So happy our doggy was allowed to join us. Great kitchen to cook in. Great location close to Helen and lots of hiking and waterfalls. Would definitely stay there again.

Very quiet and serine property. Not too far from Helen but far enough out to enjoy the peace and quiet.

This is a beautiful property in the GA mountains surrounded by woods. The view is gorgeous and peaceful. The owner was easy to communicate with but we had no issues during our stay. The surrounding towns offer options for entertainment and dining.

Overall enjoyable stay. Property is as advertised. The long gravel driveway is NO problem as was mentioned in other reviews. We had 7 people and a small dog and fit comfortably in the cabin. It is private in the forest with a good view off the back deck. There are other neighbors but at a distance and not visible from the cabin. It's very convenient to Helen which was also very enjoyable. There is no hiking on the property except for the gravel driveway and gravel road. Wifi and TV worked well but was a little balky at times but always worked. Good cell service. It is in the forest so take bug spray. Did have a short power outage and emailed the property manager and received attention immediately. Power was only out for about 30 minutes. Did see some deer and one bear visited briefly one morning so obey the food and trash guidelines. Bear left when he saw us on the deck. We did get pictures.

We loved staying here. My favorite part was sitting on the back porch looking over the mountains, especially in the evening when the fireflies came out. It had good beds, was nice and clean, the furniture was comfortable, and the location was just perfect. Close to town, but far away from everyone. Rarely heard a vehicle in the distance, it was so very peaceful. We ate outside every chance we got. The kitchen needed more knives and the frypans were on their last legs, but I was able to cook just fine anyway. The owner was very pleasant to deal with. One of the reasons it's so private is because there is a long gravel driveway curving up the mountain. We came in at night towing a small boat behind us, so I was a little nervous then, but it's well engineered and gave us no problems at any time. I'd rent here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay. There is plenty of room in the house. Two bedrooms are downstairs and a master upstairs. There is an adequate fridge and appliances. There is a huge deck sand the view is stunning. If you are staying for an extended period bring extra towels and linens. There is not a washer and dryer on site. It is close to Helen and area attractions. The drive way would be tight for a large SUV as it would be recommended that you not go to wine tasting then come up the driveway at night. The internet was slow and streaming had multiple pauses but that was fine as we were there mainly for the area attractions and there are DVDs on the property. There are multiple ways into the property and Google will take you a variation from the directions the host provides.

Mary Ellen was very responsive to our inquiry and questions. Her home was just as described. A fireplace would have made the getaway perfect. The only problem we had was the driveway. The leaves had fallen along with the rain making the driveway slippery.

We enjoyed our time on the hill. The property is located up a long, steep driveway down a long dirt and gravel road in the woods. The house was plenty roomy with everything we needed. The scenery was gorgeous and great hiking nearby as well as the town of Helen. A great place to relax and getaway.

My family and I had a wonderful, relaxing weekend in this cabin. The property is amazing and had everything we needed. Very close to Helen and hiking trails. We would love to go back.

The property is very private up a long dirt road. The view out back was gorgeous. I loved it and so did my dog! The house was very clean and comfy. We were 10 minutes from downtown Helen. The place was perfect for us. I will definitely be back

Our stay was wonderful. GPS lead the way up the gravel round directly to the house with no problem. Upon arrival, everything was a breeze. Entry instructions were fast and convenient. The house is exactly as advertised. The scenery is breathtaking. We had breakfast on the back patio every morning. Fire pit was a nice touch for night time entertainment. The house is in Sautee Nacoochee. It took us 15 minutes to drive into downtown Helen. The scenic drive is lovely and time passed quickly. Nearest grocery store is Betty’s in downtown Helen. It had everything we needed to cook. Wasted some time trying to find a grocery store, we ended up picking some basics up at the Dollar General in Helen. Next day we found Betty’s Grocery Store. It’s a small town so I should have know chain supermarkets weren’t nearby. Betty’s has everything. Unicoi State Park was less than 10 minute drive. We went kayaking on the lake, had a picnic near the little beach area while the kids swam and played as well as visited Ana Ruby Falls. It was a half mile walk up to the falls, not bad. Cool River Tubing was fun. I recommend getting the river stick to navigate. We went tubing twice. Muller’s Fried Cheese Cafe had the best authentic German food. We had a chicken schnitzel meal here that was delicious. No alcohol is served at Mullers but if you want authentic this places food tasted just like my friends homemade German food. We also had lunch at Troll Restaurant/Bar. Delicious Fried Ruben sandwich and got to see the tubers down the river. Atmosphere was amazing! The house was outside of Helen and for us that was perfect. We enjoyed leaving Downtown Helen after the day driving through the peaceful scenery and having a house to stay in nestled in the woods overlooking the mountain range.

We had a most wonderful time at this cabin, which is actually more spacious than it looks like from the outside. The design of the rooms is aesthetically pleasing and includes original art by the owner. Having breakfast on the deck outside gave us a spectacular view of the mountains. The natural setting is made for hiking and we hiked up the Anna Ruby Falls and Unicoi State Park with our our grandchildren, 3 and 6 years old. We also enjoyed grilling on the barbecue grill and making s’mores in the fire pit. We highly recommend it and plan to come back next year.

Very nice property! Very quiet for a quick getaway

Mary Beth has a lovely home! We had 2 couples, 1-15 month old and one 11 year old. There was plenty of space for everyone! And the master br/bath upstairs was spectacular!! There is a ton of space to cook in the very well equipped kitchen. Plenty of space in the living room, too! If you do have a big crowd, you may want to Bring extra paper plates and plasticware as there is no dishwasher, but we were fine. The view from the HUGE porch is so beautiful! We even enjoyed 2 nights around the firepit! We went in to Helen a couple of times. It's just a few minute' s drive. There is so much to do in the area.you will not be disappointed!

I was looking for a place to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday in the mountains. I wanted a place that had a beautiful view. And this place was it! The house was very cute and clean. A very short drive to Helen Georgia which we spent most of our time. We would definitely come back again.

Will most definitely try and return, we had a great long weekend in the house with family and friends. Very specious kitchen lounge area and a huge master bedroom suite upstairs. So quiet on the wrap around deck you cannot hear a thing except wildlife. Views from the front deck change so quickly in the morning from sunrise.

The owner is very easy and responsive to work with. The property is lovely and the views fantastic. Home is clean and comfortable. Close to Helen and Oktoberfest. Gravel drive can be hairy in places. But just need to take it slow. Had a wonderful stay.
