The cabin was exactly as described. We had a great week in the area hiking, kayaking, and checking out the museums and local history. Will definitely be back!

Clean and neat with all sorts of thoughtful items like kayaks, firewood, lighters, and nice linens. Our only negative is the flukey weather was an unusual 95 degrees and there was no functioning cooling system. Once the temp dropped into the 50s it was perfect.

We love this place! View and access to the lake are amazing. It’s quiet and you hear waves and lake breeze. BBQ, fire pit, watching stars. Kitchen had lots of pots and pans and practical for simple meal prep. The road is good for jogging and walking. The upstairs balcony is open, so there’s not loads of privacy but our kids worked remotely using the wifi. We loved the lighthouse tour Sunday afternoon. For those of us not working we were outside all day and enjoyed the cosy, clean camp at night. It was a great week.

This was our second year here and it was just as great as our first stay! Cabin was clean, had everything we needed, and the location is wonderful. It is a great place to come back to and relax after a day of UP adventures! We plan to return again soon!

A great place - so peaceful, only short drives to loads of hikes and just a 30min drive to Marquette for anything you might want/need.House is lovely and comfortable: kitchen had the equipment we needed to make all our meals in, comfortable beds (with amazing view from those in the loft), gas grill, and a wonderful 3-season porch. We spent a lot of time just sitting and watching and listening to the lake from the living room, the porch and deck. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back!

We had a wonderful week together at the cabin, enjoying outings to go hiking, and kayaking with the provided kayaks on Lake Superior. The screened room was really a nice way to sit and relax without mosquitos. I can’t remember if the listing specified this, but there is one main level bedroom, and an upstairs loft room with two beds to sleep four in that loft area, 6 total. We cooked for ourselves (Walmart pickup 45 min away in Marquette) and found the kitchen well stocked and a good home base. The deck view is beautiful and the area is peaceful. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night!

This was a much needed break! Just my husband and I that stayed for the week.

From the moment we walked in, we knew that we would love it here. The cabin has a well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the wonderful sunsets and the quietness of the woods and wildlife. Every day was an adventure. We hiked Sugarloaf Mountain, Thomas Rock Overlook, Yellow Dog Falls, Hog Back Mountain, on a rainy day we walked NMU's Wooden Dome, Pinnacle Falls and even drove to the McCormick Wilderness. The people of Big Bay are so friendly. There is still more to see in Big Bay. We would like to be able to come back in the wintertime to enjoy the many trails in Big Bay. Dave, thank you for letting us enjoy your cabin! We shall return! Patty & Martin

My wife and I have rented this property every year for the past 6 years. And will continue to do so. We come here to Simply decompress. And get some needed peace and quiet from this insane world we live in. We have never been disappointed in any way by coming here. Can't wait until the next time.

A remote cabin on Lake Superior with beautiful views and near Pictured Rocks. Plenty of hiking, visiting falls, lots of wildlife and Marquette the nearest city. Love hanging at the cabin or exploring remote areas.

We had an absolutely wonderful week staying here! The home is welcoming and inviting and had everything we needed. The views of Lake Superior from within the home were breathtaking! We loved sitting on the deck watching the sunset, and strolling on the rocks admiring the beauty of the lake. It is a quiet, peaceful place for a retreat! We'll be back!

The cabin exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was well equipped and we also enjoyed making some meals on the gas grill. The bay view from the back porch was so beautiful and peaceful. The cabin was a perfect spot to return to after seeing the sights. We also saw lots of wildlife in the area and saw a doe and her fawn in the backyard. Would definitely stay here again.

The house is perfect. Beautiful view of the lake. It is so peaceful - we enjoyed the quiet beauty of the property and surrounding area. This was our second stay at this Big Bay cabin, the first, four years ago, before the pandemic. We had a terrific time! A gorgeous cabin, inside and out, and in what a beautiful location! The cabin itself is huge, roomy, alive with sunlight and then moonlight light, and offers a western exposure over Lake Superior that provides incredible sunsets. The room are above comfortable, the beds great, and the kitchen up to the task of taking care of yourselves for two weeks, which is what we did. Just super! Great spot, great support, we'll be back next Spring.

Very quiet and within walking distance of the big bay lighthouse. Wonderful cabin in the woods on the water. We will definitely be back.

Your host Dave is extremely accommodating and has the hospitality of a true Yooper. He made sure everything went smoothly and we enjoyed our stay. His cabin is a true up-north paradise. It was the most clean and organized rental home we have ever stayed in. The best part is Lake Superior is in your backyard! The sunsets and beach are truly beautiful. Everything about the property was as stated. We stayed in a couple days due to the cold weather, made a fire and watched the sunsets. Great place to stay.

It was everything that we hoped for in a winter cabin getaway! We had a very up close experience with the rugged beauty of Lake Superior while being very cozy inside. The location feels remote but was close to the small town of Big Bay, the city of Marquette and also skiing and snowshoe trails.

Dave's "cabin" was the cleanest, most organized rental we've ever stayed at. It was so comfortable, had everything you would need, and was very clean. The closeness and view of Lake Superior was wonderful. We loved sitting outdoors in our beach chairs and hearing the waves gently splashing the shoreline. We hiked every day. So many wonderful hikes to choose from - both easy and challenging. A perfect location to be hopeful for a Northern Lights Show! You won't be disappointed. The setting is so amazing, right on Lake Superior with a gorgeous rock beach. The log house is charming and very well equipped. We found so much hiking and biking in the area that we only went to Munising one time in our week. We would love to come back and do it all over again!

We have stayed in many vacation homes in the past and this was by far the best!

Our week at Dave’s cabin was everything we could have asked for. Beautiful cabin, great view right on Lake Superior, clean and comfortable. We have never spent much time in the UP but after this we will be coming back regularly. Enjoyed waterfalls, hiking, presque isle, pictured rocks and so much more. Magical.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here. We were looking for seclusion, as our careers are very loud and stressful. We definitely made the right choice. The only loud noises we heard were the waves crashing the beach, and the squirrels yelling from the trees and the porch when we were having our morning coffee. We left the property a total of 3 times in the week we were there. There wasn't any need. Everything you need is there at the cabin. Quite a few board games. One of the best looking cribbage boards I've ever seen. Any utensil or pan that we needed to cook was there. The outside grill worked really well. Internet is fair. Enough to stream on the Roku that is there. ATT phone had 2-3 bars LTE, but as we weren't using them, it didn't matter anyway. There is a dvd player, Listing says Blu-ray player and there was one, but it had no remote. I got lucky that one of the blurays that autoplayed when I put it in, but the others I brought did not. So if you bring movies, be sure they are regular dvds. Overall, I would definitely stay again. It was the most peaceful vacation time I've spent in years. The view is amazing with the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine. I can't wait to plan a fall trip here. Thank you Dave for allowing us to spend our anniversary at your place. It is something we won't ever forget, we would love to come back.

I highly recommend this property! Dave is great to work with and has speedy communication with his renters. Our family felt very at home at this house. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Dave's place was a treat to stay at for the week and the perfect place to chill out. The vaulted ceiling and loft made me feel like I was staying at a mini version of Old Faithful Inn and I loved my time there.

We just spent a week here, enjoying the comfortable, and spacious cabin, located right in Lake Superior. The views of the sunsets do not disappoint. And it has a nice deck and grill. It’s a great escape from whatever you want to escape at home.

We just got back from an amazing week in Big Bay. The cabin was awesome. It was more than we expected. The beach was breathtaking. We had our three kids with us that range in ages from 4 years to 16 years and they all had fun playing on the rocks and going in Lake Superior. Rock hunting is one of their favorite activities. We could have not have asked for a better place to vacation. Our youngest wants to live there! The cabin was well stocked and very comfortable. Dave was great and easy to work with as well. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We hope to be back someday. My kids already have plans for next time!

Good location right on the water. Difficult if not impossible to launch a kayak or swim from the property, but wonderful to just sit and look at the water. Great fireplace and deck, and the kitchen has all of the plates, bowls, etc. you could need. The bedroom could use a dresser and better lighting, but all in all a great house.
