We just returned from a fabulous stay at the Topanga house in Malibu! My husband and I and our adult kids with their significant others were so comfortable, each couple had the privacy of a bedroom w/their own bathroom. The layout of the house was so spacious that we never once felt crowded or on top of each other. The house looks exactly like it does in the photos, beautiful, open and airy with an incredible view of the ocean from the living room and primary bedroom. There were so many places to hang out as a group or just relax by yourself and read a book. All the beds were super comfortable and the couches off the kitchen and in the media room were so comfortable that we actually looked up the brand to see what they were! The backyard was beautifully landscaped and had a fantastic grill which we used several times to cook dinner. The kitchen was huge and stocked with all the essentials like spices, oils, and utensils, everything we needed to cook. Kathleen was so easy to communicate with and always responded promptly to any questions I had. The location was perfect because it was in a quiet neighborhood but very close to the Pacific Coast Highway so we were able to easily take day trips and enjoy the surrounding area; we visited Santa Monica Pier, did a studio tour at Paramount, went on several hikes and ate at some great restaurants, just to name a few things. The best part about our whole trip was feeling so relaxed with my family and enjoying the comfort of being together in a beautiful house .

We enjoyed our stay at Katherine’s beautiful home. Staying in the master you see the sunrise. You can walk down the hill to the beach and see the sunset. Neighborhood is also so interesting to walk and see different homes and their landscaping. The kitchen is well equipped. Beds are very comfortable. The backyard had a soothing waterfall as we relaxed in the hot tub. Kathleen was easy to reach as we had some technology issues in the beginning of our stay but all was fixed. Recommend this home if want to stay near the ocean in the Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica area!

My East Coast family stayed here during Thanksgiving week and we had the best time! The home is beautiful, clean and spacious with a lovely backyard and comfortable beds! The neighborhood is quiet, conveniently located outside of the hustle and bustle and has beautiful views of the Pacific. Kathleen was easy to reach when we had questions and really opened up her home to my family. All of us loved it and I will definitely look forward to renting her home again! I truly loved everything about this place! Thank you, thank you!!!!

This property is everything it is listed as and more. Kathy was an incredible host and available to handle any issues that might arise during the stay. We live locally and were hosting family from out of town and it will now be our go to property (if available) instead of staying at a hotel

Probably our best VRBO experience ever, and we travel a lot! Everything was so well appointed and thought out & the attention to detail was amazing. The house, back yard, and outside spaces are just sublime. Great communication, beds are fantastic. Oh, and the view is breathtaking. Bottom line, book this property--you will not regret it.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this well appointed home. There was plenty of room for our family of 6. Layout made it easy for some in our group to work from home while others were able to enjoy the beautiful backyard. Great location. Owner was easy to communicate with. This house was located in a tranquil neighborhood. The home was very welcoming for our large group, and there was space for everyone to gather and spread out. The views were breathtaking, and we enjoyed the outside living spaces. It was conveniently located to everything that we wanted to do. You will be delighted with this home.

This house exceeded our expectations. From the beautiful walkable neighborhood, to the most exquisite and fun backyard and perfect California interiors and awesome view, everything delighted all of us. My husband and I are early morning people, up before dawn, out walking with first light, the birds, including owls, songbirds and hummers greeted us everyday. The rest of the family staying with us slept in till 10 everyday without our bothering them because of the excellent layout of th house. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub as well.

This was our second visit to this lovely Malibu property. We especially love the location, and the beautiful backyard.

We've stayed in many beautiful properties around the world, but I could never say a place was actually more spectacular than the photos. Until this one. The property photos are enticing, but they don't completely capture the magic of the Malibu sunset views from the owner's suite as the sky turns orange, pink and then starlit blue. When the sun goes down, you can see the lights of the Santa Monica pier, a view I could never get enough of. The private stone garden - with the calming sound of falling water and beauty of real lemon trees - was magical. It was my spot every morning to enjoy a cup of coffee and nature. We were impressed with the attention to detail in every part of the home. The kitchen was well-stocked, from the spices to the top-grade appliances, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, and anything else that you need or want to make a special meal. The fine linens were heavenly and plentiful. There were extra pillows, comforters, sheets, blankets, towels, etc. for every bedroom. The house is also stocked with everything for a day at the beach, or games and books for a chill night at home. The location is also notable. You have easy access to Santa Monica, LA and North Malibu. The Getty Villa is literally down the street, and the historic Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon Museum (with a cool collection of artifacts) is just a few miles north on PCH, where you can park and walk along the scenic Surfrider Beach. Our second day, Kathleen was nice enough to stop by with a bottle of wine (!) when we had a question about the Wi-Fi. She she stayed to chat about the restaurants, where to go, best beaches, shopping, etc. Even her neighbors were super friendly. This is not your typical hotel-ish rental. This is a home with a soul.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights, while visiting family who live in LA. The house and property are well maintained, and the neighborhood is quiet. The backyard is spectacular, very private with an incredible waterfall. Check-in was very easy, and we were offered additional time the day of check- out ( much appreciated) as the next guests were not arriving that day. We would definitely stay here again !

The house is very well appointed for a family stay. We had our three adult children stay with us and everyone had ample space. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the garden is beautiful and private with a unique waterfall feature which was constantly visited by song birds. The location is about 250 feet above the beach so it would be a hike to walk it, but you can park in the neighborhood and cross the PCH directly to the beach. The location is minutes from Pacific Palisades and downtown Santa Monica in the southern most area of Malibu. Definitely recommend.
