My brother and I needed a weeks stay at short notice whilst in Jamaica. The room had all we required, parking is on site and a lovely pool right outside our door! Monika and Axel were fantastic hosts. Very welcoming and they treated us like family, helping us out numerous times and even washing our clothes while we were out. Your place was a perfect retreat. I researched several places to stay before settling on Monika's and Axel's beautiful and quaint resort. I have stayed at all inclusive resorts, to small, family owned hotels... this was by far the most unique and welcoming places I've experienced in all of my travels. I was traveling alone and wanted to find a place that had friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere. Needless to say, I got way more than I paid for. From the moment I arrived I felt very welcomed and taken care of. The accommodations were fantastic, clean, and comfortable. I loved having access to the kitchen as I love to cook local food while I am traveling. Monika was an amazing host and we became fast friends. We went out a few times to get groceries and to a seafood restaurant for drinks and great conversation. She was always making sure that I had everything I needed. I appreciated how much effort and hard work was put into keeping the grounds and pool looking and feeling so great. I spent hours soaking up the sun, listening to music and floating on my mattress in the pool each day. Garfield, who you will find attending to the grounds as well as preparing delicious meals, was extremely knowledgeable about everything from local food to the ways of life on the island. I woke up each morning to my yoga practice in the courtyard with his friendly smile and fantastic smells of whatever he was roasting for the daily meals. I looked forward to making smoothies with him and whatever gorgeous fruit or vegetable he would bring me to experiment with for the day. You can pay extra to have meals prepared for you or have local food on hand. I felt that my privacy was respected as well as just enough company when I needed to engage in a great conversation or learn something new about the ways and life in Jamaica. Some other great features to staying with Monika and Axel is access to a private beach within walking distance. I felt very safe as a female traveling alone walking in the neighborhood. They also are willing to provide private transportation to and from the airport for a reasonable cost. Runaway Bay is a great place to stay in Jamaica. The people are so friendly and have such a beautiful outlook on life. I would highly recommend booking your next vacation at this beautiful and charming family owned resort. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to return and hopefully meet Axel this time around as he was on Holiday during my stay.

Monika and Axel were the perfect hosts. This was our first time in Jamaica, and I can truly say we experienced Jamaica, the culture, the food and the wonderful people. On the first night, Monika and Axel invited us to play pool with Courtney and another couple that was visiting, at a local bar. Later in the week, Courtney spent a day with us showing us around Jamaica and stopping at the roadside stalls to purchase local food and drinks, as well as a large craft market. On our last night, we walked to a couple of nearby bars and the men played pool again, even the locals joined in to play. The private beach is within walking distance, and we always felt safe walking. The property is well kept and clean and the staff very friendly. The experience we had was beyond our expectations. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

Wir waren total begeistert von Jamaica und dazu von unserer Unterkunft. Monika und Axel haben unseren Aufenthalt unvergessen gemacht. Die Unterkunft war durch die tägliche Reinigung immer sauber und ordentlich. Es gibt genügend Platz für 2 Personen, selbst 3 Personen hätten immer noch genug Platz. Die Einrichtung ist mehr als zweckmäßig, es gibt genug Platz um selbst zu kochen oder sich auf Wunsch mit heimischen Delikatessen bekochen zu lassen. Die elektrischen Fliegenklatschen und der Deckenventilator waren unverzichtbar! Der große Pool direkt neben der Terrasse wird täglich gereinigt und war meist unsere erste und letzte Anlaufstelle im Tagesverlauf. Monika und Axel sind wirklich ein Original und werden nichts unversucht lassen euren Urlaub so schön wie möglich zu gestalten! Die angebotenen Touren, die Reitausflüge (selbst für mich als Anfänger unvergesslich) oder die Poloabende, es wird keine Langeweile aufkommen.

It was so nice to have visited again. This was our first stay in the apartment as we usually stay in the villa. My husband and I travelled alone this time so thought we would stay in the apartment. It is fully equipped with a four burner stove/oven and full size fridge so this was excellent. We shopped for our groceries in Montego Bay when arriving which was cheaper than the small local stores which are great in a pinch. The Mega Mart has liquor in the store so it is like one stop shopping. A trip to the Swiss butcher the next day and we had all we needed. What I loved about the apartment was the close proximity to the pool. I would often go for a swim or soak in the a.m. before cooking breakfast which was a lovely start to the day. The beach is as beautiful as I remember but they now have a lifeguard on duty most days which I saw as great compliment. We took a cooler with us to the beach with our own snacks and refreshments. There are a few bars/restaurants within close proximity so on the nights you don't want to cook there are options. Monika, Axel, Claudette and Courtney were so accomodating, all we had to do was ask if in need of anything, I felt so spoiled having the daily housekeeping services of Claudette. She is fun and has a great sense of humor. The highlight of this trip was the bonfire/ BBQ we were treated to and of course the wonderful birthday dinner Monika arranged for me. Thanks to all of you and counting the days until we can return again.

Es war alles zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit, von der Ankunft bis zum Abflug. Wir sind sogar nach 3 Wochen mit einem kleinen Tränchen im Auge nach Hause geflogen, das sagt ja wohl schon alles! Das Appartement hat alles was man sich wünscht. Man kann sich sehr gut selbst verpflegen oder aber im Ort auch lecker jamaikanisch essen gehen. Man sollte halt nur alle Lebensmittel im Kühlschrank aufbewahren, da diese sonst gerne von den Ameisen vernascht werden. ;) Das Zimmer wird täglich gründlich gereinigt. Der Privatstrand ist super gepflegt. Wir waren im März eigentlich fast alleine am Strand und man hatte auch Schattenplätze unter den Mandelbäumen zur Auswahl. Wir sind von Monika & Axel und deren Angestellten sehr nett aufgenommen worden und haben uns immer sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Grillabende sowie die Touren zu den Polospielen waren sehr schön. Danke nochmal dafür! Und lobenswert sind auch die Ausflüge mit Axel. Wir haben fast alle Touren mit ihm gemacht. Die Ausflüge lohnen sich wirklich, da man sehr viel über Land und Leute erfahren kann. Der Ort ist wirklich toll und zentral gelegen um verschiedene Sehenswürdigkeiten innerhalb eines Tages zu besichtigen. Ausserdem kann man in den anliegenden Bars Billard spielen oder einfach nur der Reggae-Musik lauschen oder sogar tanzen gehen. Es sollte für jeden etwas dabei sein. Sollte ich irgendetwas vergessen haben, dann werde ich das bei unserem nächsten Besuch ergänzen. :) Ich hoffe, dass wir uns im nächsten Jahr wiedersehen werden. Aber spätestens übernächstes Jahr!

Jetzt, wo ich meinen nächsten Urlaub buchen möchte, erinnere ich mich, daß ich noch nicht die beabsichtigte Bewertung abgegeben habe. Spät aber doch nicht vergessen: Die vorhergehenden Bewertungen treffen vollständig zu, dem kann ich nichts weiter hinzufügen. Zu empfehlen sind auch die Touren, welche vom Haus angeboten werden. Auch werde ich nie die Flüge mit Axel vergessen. Diese waren wirklich besondere Erlebnisse. Die Unterkunft habe ich aufgrund der mittigen Lage ausgesucht. Man kann alle Ausflüge innerhalb eines Tages absolvieren. Mit heutigem Datum habe ich wieder per E-Mail nachgefragt, ob Ende Feb. 2011 ein Appartement frei ist. Das sagt doch schon alles aus !!!!

My husband and I have just returned from a week at Rainbow creek and found the experience extremely good. Monika was on hand to help whenever we needed anything, but at the same time did not intrude on our privacy. The accommodation was extremely clean and our every need was met. The Bungalow was very secure and we felt safe at all times. Monika puts a great deal into making her guests feel safe and comfortable and we would certainly use this venue again. Thank you Monika. (Unfortunately we did not get to meet Axel as he was in germany throughout our stay). We would highly recommend this property to anyone . The property description was accurate and there were plenty of local attractions within close proximity, also shops and petrol stations churches etc.
