This charming tiny house was perfect for our first VRBO experience. Cozy & Quaint this house had everything we needed including spectacular views. Our hosts, Helen & Charlie, were very gracious and provided excellent suggestions on things to do and places to dine!

Beautifully appointed, clean & up to date cabin. Kitchen adequately stocked with most anything you may need. Hosts Helen & Charlie were extremely accommodating & full of information on all the best that Homer has to offer. Could not have asked for a better place to call home while visiting the lovely town of Homer!

Very lovely home, beautiful scenery.

Little heaven getaway on the hill. Very welcome cozy space with magnificent views. Loved walking in the morning to the big windows seeing the moose and the sea off in distance. The hosts are fabulous and a joy to talk to. In the evenings we went for walks from the cabin and the views you see around every bin are special. We saw moose on our walks too:) Place is well taken care of supplied with all your needs.

Clean, well appointed, attention to detail on providing a lovely space to stay when in Homer—comfortable bedding, beautiful views, lovely towels, well stocked kitchen and more. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Perfect place!!

This large and bright cabin with every amenity looks out over the best of Homers’ magnificent views. Gorgeously furnished indoors it has a lovely deck to enjoy the surrounding as well.

We had a great stay at this location. The space was just as advertised and we had the added bonus of having a moose come thru the yard during our stay. The communication with the host was excellent

We had a wonderful stay at the Sandhill Crane Cabin! It is a beautiful cabin with a great location, and the hosts have done such a wonderful job with the design, decor and all the thoughtful touches they have added. It has awesome views out the huge windows, and everything was so nice and clean and luxurious. Helen and Charlie are awesome hosts! So friendly and helpful, and so quick to respond to our inquiries. They truly wanted our stay to be perfect, and it was!! We would go back in a heartbeat!

The property was in an excellent location. Fabulous views of the mountains, volcano & Homer Spit. Easy access to everything but in a country setting. The hosts live in their own home on property. This allowed answers to quick questions and nice conversations.

Really enjoyed the place and time with my wife. The morning coffee and sunlight made the start of the day really easy. Room darkening blinds were great to help dim the ‘midnight sun’ of AK. The place was peaceful and quiet, making for an easy nights rest. The property owners communicated all the help we needed to make the journey fabulous. Even got a text advising of a momma moose with twins were outback. Rushed home to capture a glimpse from about 15yds away. Truly a great host and location!

Well appointed cabin with beautiful views of the bay and property (eagle and moose sightings). Relax on the deck with an evening drink or morning coffee. Cabin: Super clean, well decorated with all necessary supplies (and coffee!), room darkening shades, comfortable bed! Communication: Received quick responses to questions. Outstanding hosts, who ensure you have access to information for planning a trip that meets your interests. Offers great suggestions for local activities and restaurants. Overall: Highly recommend the Sandhill Crane cabin - Convenient, clean, cute, charming hosts who are knowledgeable about Alaska along with many other interesting stories!

I was pleasantly surprised when I drove up to the Sandhill Crane Cabin for my work trip in Homer. The cabin is so cozy with exceptional views all around. Everything you need is there for your stay. The bed and bedding is comfortable and clean. The hosts are very friendly. I spent my time at the cabin either working at the dining room table surrounded by amazing views or reading before bed. Highly recommend the Sandhill Crane Cabin for your stay!

The hosts were friendly and offered many suggestions as to what to see. The cabin was fully equipped with everything you would need. Would come back again!

What an awesome experience. Cabin was clean and well kept. Awesome views off the deck. Even had a couple of moose come to visit. Owner had provided binders of things to see and do in the area along with helpful hints and insight. Awesome experience. Would definitely recommend.

This was the perfect place to stay to kick off our stay in Alaska! Everything is just as described, but better! Helen was an amazing host and we were even greeted by moose the next morning. Thank you for helping us make wonderful memories in Homer! Can’t wait to get back!

We loved our stay in this beautifully crafted cottage with its large windows, Scandinavian-influenced furniture and cheerfully coordinated Marimekko furnishings, cozy gas stove, well-equipped kitchen with quality utensils (also teas, coffee, stevia, honey!), comfortable bed, and a bathroom with good shower pressure and heavenly smelling organic bath products (also an amazing view of a beautiful cone-laden evergreen tree)! Even though it rained on and off the two days we were there, the cottage felt cozy and cheerful, and I loved sitting at the table sipping my coffee/tea or eating our takeout dinners at the end of a busy day, and looking out at the mountains, mist, trees and waters of the Kachemak Bay. Helen is a warm and wonderful host. She was very responsive and detailed in her communications. She also alerted us to the presence of a moose in the area that we were able to seen on the way to the cottage. Besides having put together information for sightseeing, dining etc in folders placed in the room that would be useful for visitors, there are little touches in the cottage like a coffee book on river stones, or tea lights that add just a little more to being whimsical and relaxed on a vacation! I would love to stay here if we visited Homer again! Thank you, Helen for sharing the cabin with us!

Amazing location! Crane Cabin was built and furnished with every detail in mind. Perfect getaway to relax and re-charge. The cabin had five star furnishings. Book this place now! It is a beautifully crafted & decorated cabin with many comforts. The views from the property are outstanding. We saw a mama moose & her 2 babies, eagles, as well as a sandhill crane family at the property. The full kitchen is very nice to have, and well equipped. Nice soft towels and comfy bedding. Great shower with good water pressure. Well thought out instructions and communication from the host, as well as good recommendations for the area. We hope to stay again someday!

My wife and I agreed, this is one of the best VRBO properties we have ever stayed. The first impression when we walked in the door was a 10, and everything got better from there. So I guess we would have to rate this place an 11 out of 10. It is VERY clean. Everything is high quality. The bed was very comfortable. It is a 1 room cabin but the space is laid out so well that you have everything you need for space. The kitchen was fully equipped with quality dishes, pots, pans and utensils. The views are spectacular. And Helen was great to work with. Communication with her was easy and she responds quickly.

Everything was wonderful about the cabin and the host. Cabin is sparkling clean and you have everything you need (including all kinds of spices). I loved seeing all the little detail decorations Helen put in the cabin. Very cute! And the host Helen was just wonderful!! We had a rental car problem and she offered us a help every way possible. She ended up spending longer than an hour helping us but she was so nice about it. Thanks to her kindness we didn’t need to waste half the day waiting for the car technician to arrive. I’ll definitely stay with her beautiful comfortable cabin when we visit Homer again:)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sandhill crane cabin! The views from the cabin are absolutely breathtaking. The hosts were awesome - helpful, responsive and just all around good people. The bed is super comfy and even the fold out twin bed for our daughter was a tempur-pedic style bed. The cabin was clean and had many helpful notes about how to work different things around the cabin, which was helpful for us. BUT the view, y’all! Wow! Worth it just for the views. We 100% loved it here. Cannot wait to visit again.

This is the best place you can imagine!

We stayed in June. The blackout blinds worked well. The kitchen was the best equipped I had experienced from any rental. Helen communicated promptly. The view from the home was spectacular. We didn't see any sandhill cranes because they were on their nests, but Vic heard them. We saw moose along the road several times. The bed was comfortable. I'd recommend this home to any person or couple.
