We had a wonderful stay at this property. Great location for snorkeling and diving! This location is far away from the bars, shopping, nightlife and this worked perfectly for us. The unit is nicely decorated, clean and well supplied. You have everything you need for cooking. The owner is awesome to work with! Bring bug spray as no see ums and mosquitoes will find you. ;) Keep in mind you are about 30 minutes drive from the good grocery store.

This is our second stay at Marazul and we love it. Just perfect location for our family of 4 who enjoy beaches and snorkeling. We will be back.

This was the perfect place. Not knowing a lot about Curacao, we lucked out by choosing Marazul Dive Resort. We were close to snorkling and a few restaurants within walking distance. Other residents/visitors were very friendly, as well as the iguana that ate lettuce from my hand! Regarding this specific cottage.... it was perfect for four adults. Just know that HOT water is not available in all three bathrooms, but the water was warm enough to be enjoyable. We couldn't have chosen a better place!

Fourth stay in this unit, sixth time total at Marazul. Just perfect, unit is wonderful, diving out front is good, nice restaurants nearby, GoWest dive shop is under new management and better than ever. We have typically done two or three dive weeks to the Caribbean a year for the last decade, and Marazul and Diane's unit particularly just keep calling us back.

We spent 5 days as a family and enjoyed the location and the grounds very much. Host was easy to deal with.

No 4 Marazul. Sorry for the long review...where do I start? The location of the villa was perfect for us, near the pool. It was very well equipped with 2 bedrooms downstairs and a double ensuite upstairs. There was a downstairs patio and an upstairs terrace. The kitchen was well equipped and plenty of towels were provided. We used the BBQ a couple of times, although standing by it was as hot as standing in the kitchen! Thank goodness for the AC in the bedrooms! All windows / patio doors were fitted with screens, so a warm draught could blow though the property making the heat a little less intense. An offer of cleaning was made after a week, however we politely declined. A change of towels was gratefully accepted though. The pool was perfect for an evening dip when the sun set. I've never been in an outdoor pool with warm water before! There were plenty of sun loungers both in the sun and under the gazebo. There are 2 sets of steps down to the sea enabling easy access for snorkelling/diving. There is no beach at the resort but Playa Forti is a short walk/drive or Snorkel away. Rinse tanks and showers were available for diving equipment. The grounds are very well kept, with tropical flowers and coconut palms. Lots of tropical birds chirped in the trees. The iguanas on the sea wall were a big hit! My son went out twice a day with veg scraps feeding them There is a large secure car park with a keypad to access it. Rene is the friendly manager on site. He very kindly arranged for some groceries to be purchased for us on arrival. Tokens for the massive washing machine in the nearby laundry were available for $3. And only took 30mins! Washing very quickly dried after being hung on the terrace. Unfortunately, we were plagued with mozzies /no-see-ums, although we were informed that even though the resort was sprayed with deterrent they can't cater for those flying over the wall! Nearby there are several restaurants, Cactus cafe, Playa Forti and Sol food - great pizza! Go West diving at Playa Kalki was to be recommended also. The nearest supermarket is at Barber, although we liked New California at Tera Cora. Our 'big shop' was done at Carrefour at the Sambril centre. We also went to the pharmacy at Barber. Overall, this is a brilliant villa in a great location. Dianne was very helpful with all our queries. Thank you! We would love to stay again if we are lucky enough to return to Curaçao.

Beautyful place, beautiful house, nice people.

Great location. Right in front of pool, in front of ocean. Beautiful sunsets every night from the upper deck. Quiet area of Curacao. The resort is not crowded and we met friendly people who owned or rented the other houses in the resort. Easy access to the water. There are steps down to the water at each end of the resort. We snorkeled almost every day. Nice reef also turtles, eels, squid, and rays. Strong sun but with the almost constant wind it wasn't too hot. Two dive shops nearby. Go West diving at Kalki beach is a full service dive shop with boat dives. Sublime diving is right next door to the resort inside the Rancho El Sobrino hotel and does mostly shore dives. Ellis is a wonderful dive leader and instructor and is very patient and helpful. He also will give you pictures and videos of your dives. There are no markets in Westpunt. You have to drive 10 miles to Barber for markets. One downside are the mosquitos, bring repellent. All in all a great and relaxing vacation.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The interior is a bit dated but comfortable and functional. Showers are a bit on the luke-warm side but beds are comfortable and kitchen is well stocked. The location is definitely the shining feature, great place for divers and there is an excellent sunset from the top balocny every night!

Incredible ocean views and direct reef access for divers! Great unit for families with full kitchen and pool. Northwest location quiet and more remote (get groceries in town first.) Of note - AC is only in the bedrooms, but it isn't a problem if you plan to be out and about during the day. There are a lot of ants - bring tupperware and keep your food in the fridge. Highly recommend for location, cost, and proximity to dive sites. Owner and on site manager were great!

We were so glad to have rented at this end of the island because of the many beautiful sheltered beaches nearby as well as the national parks. I would love to come back and stay in this unit again. It was a restful time even if we visited 4 beaches in one day!! Thank you Dianne for all the great information. I would like to mention to tourists to please consider supporting the animal rescue organizations in Curacao. There are many cats and dogs that need our help. It's not only good for the stray animals but it protects the local flora and fauna.

Enjoyed this condo very much. Only issue we had were ants in the kitchen and even in the upstairs bedroom where I had a cough drop sitting on the dresser. Never have had so many ants in any condo in Curaçao and this was our 7th trip and 4th condo we’ve stayed in (2nd condo at Marazul) Love the house reef for diving and love the north end of the island. Even with the ant problem I would stay here again.

This is really a nice property and I loved the location. I will strart with the "bad". 3 bed 3 bath. Upstairs bathroom had a horrid stench 24/7 and essentially was unusable because of it. There is a closet off the bathroom that I did not use because of the stench. However I used the closet downstairs for the few things I needed to hang. Nice dresser in bedroom worked for everything else. The door closed on bathroom shut out the smells so I did not notice it. With other bathrooms I really did not miss it. Other issue is that there is no air conditioning for the main unit, just the bedrooms. That did make it hard to use the place esp in the evenings. The upper sitting room is useless (where the TV is) because heat rises and it was way too hot and muggy. Even with windows and breezes it was way too hot. We would watch movies on my kindle in the bedroom. We ate and played games on the porch because house was so hot. Nice breezes made this quite comfy. It would have been very uncomfortable to cook suppers but we only used it for breakfasts and lunches and ate out for suppers. If I had planned to cook much there, it would have been a deterrent. However overall we enjoyed it. Spent most of our time diving, swimming, snorkelling, sun bathing, and beaching (as well as cliff jumping). Great place right there to swim and snorkel , snorkelling better to left. Neat rock formations in the water near cliffs. I loved our place overall and very glad I went but not sure if I would go back without central air....maybe. Other wise stocked quite well. 2nd bathroom has the cold and hot water taps in shower reversed. I just thought they had no hot water. After I showered in my sons I realized the left tap is always hot despite being mismarked. No big deal. View from balcony amazing. I loved the ocean front of it. Really close to pool (though I never used it except for loungers): i rather preferred swimming. Stairs down to water easy to use for us but could be an issue for elderly. No beach at top, gravelly ground required beach sandals always. Iguanas were fun and you should see them when you give them grapes. You can jump off the stairs in places for minor cliff jumping. I never braved the 40 foot Playa Forti but with difficulty walked along top of cliff at Playa Abao (Greater Knip) and jumped off 30 feet, then free climbed the cliff and jumped again. Overall condo WELL worth the price. My 23 yr old son had the time of his life. He loved it too. Thanks Diane.

We rented unit 4 in August and found it to be very spacious, clean and ideally located on the West side. We cooked often and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the living space very roomy. We really enjoyed the view from the upper balcony on the ocean. We were greeted by hummingbirds and canaries every morning. There was always about 10 large iguanas on the property as well so if you’re into wildlife this is a great place. The pool was a great size and we would often snorkel from the complex to Playa Grandi and back. There are several restaurants located in walking distance and all the best beaches are in the West! Dianne was easy to reach out to on email and provided lots of helpful tips. There is a property manager on site as well so if you have any issue you have use of his services as well. There is a good grocery store in Barber if you don’t want to make the hike to Willemstad. We are 100% satisfied with our stay and will book the unit again the next time we are in Curacao.

We had a great time at marazul. The place is better than it looks online. Right on a cliff overlooking the beautiful blue water and steps away from the pool, a perfect place to finish your day after all the adventures that the area has to offer. There are many beautiful beaches a short drive away and one that you can walk to in 15 minutes. We snorkeled with the turtles at playa piskado which is a 10 minute walk and cliff jumped at playa Forti which is even closer. We also hiked my Christoffel which also is a short drive away.This is definitely the best part of the island to visit which we realized when we met a family that was vacationing from their home in Willemstad. Sol food for dinner was great and we had the best night at shelterrock which is a 15 minute drive away go on Friday for coconut and karaoke night it’s so much fun my nephew won the karaoke contest. You can’t go wrong picking this place for a vacation and Curacao in general. We will definitely come back and stay at marazul

We stayed here for 8 nights in July 2019. Had a great time and are aligned with the other June 2019 reviews. The house is spacious with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a sofa bed. Nice kitchen, airconditioning in the 3 bedrooms. Quiet and very close to the best (snorkeling) beaches of Curacao. Restaurant choice is limited, especially on a budget. Supermarkets basically are 30-40mins away by car.There's room for improvement with the wifi/internet. After a day the wifi didn't even let our devices access the router anymore saying it was full and other networks were too slow/far away, so I reached out to the owner (Dianne) and the property manager (Rene). They were responsive, Rene rebooted the router which solved the access issue. However, it made us understand that the router is shared with other properties and not located in this specific house. Because of that the wifi signal isn't strong enough, which makes the actual throughput very low, a Skype voice call comes with challenges and you can't do any video calling. Simple text messaging is ok. Dianne is looking into this she said. My suggestion would be to have a dedicated router in the house so you don't rely on someone else's and have a stronger signal.Ants were an issue when we entered the house, mostly in the kitchen and in the bedrooms. My wife started cleaning the kitchen and after 1 or 2 days the ants were gone. So kitchen cleaning could have been better.

This is the second time we've stayed at the resort and we love the resort and really loved this unit. Great location, tranquil, excellent swimming/snorkeling right there and a pool to relax in during the evenings. The house was great, check in easy, and communications with the owner responsive. Very nice place and exactly as described. Screens on the windows and doors allowed us to let the breeze blow through the house! I would highly recommend this unit and we plan to go back again.

The property was as described. Wonderful location. Quiet and away from it all. Exactly what we wanted. The on-site property manager was very helpful. Great beaches and snorkeling near by. The wi-fi access is a little spotty, but the property manager was able to give us a few codes for the complex, which was good enough for our needs (mainly to check email periodically and update family), and helped us avoid using any international data while we were visiting. However, if you needed to work online a lot, it might be difficult. House was clean and well equipped. There were some ants (which is to be expected on the island), but if you wiped down the counters in the morning and after eating, it was completely fine. The unit included one bath towel and one beach towel per person booked. View at sunset is wonderful. With two small children (5 and 8), the close proximity to the pool was a real plus. I was a little worried the property would be loud at night since there are a lot of houses in the gated community, however, it was very quiet. There was a little more commotion on the weekend, but even then it was quiet by about 10pm. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, and don't mind being a drive away from Willemsted or the city attractions, this is the perfect spot. Great for families with young kids. There is no beach on-site, but there is one a short walk away, and several more within quick driving distance. We don't generally stay in the same place twice, but I would definitely consider another stay here if we come back to the island.

Great time

For divers and others looking for a good resort for your money, Marazul is hard to beat. Comfortable accommodations, a nice pool and minutes to some of the best beaches, snorkeling, and dive sites on the island. This is our third time to Marazul and our first staying in #4. About the resort in general: 1. There are no services to speak of beyond the pool. If you are looking for a full service luxury resort look elsewhere. If you want a clean, comfortable place to stay and can manage making your own fun and getting around by yourself and at a very reasonable rate, you'll have a great time. 2. There is no restaurant on site but all units have equipped kitchens. Stop in Wilemsted to pick up food on the way. There are two restaurants within walking distance and also restaurants a short drive away. Not to be missed while in the area is Sol Food, run by Sunshine and David. Great food in a great atmosphere. Only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, make reservations as it is always jammed. 3. You need a car, which can be rented at the airport. Westpunt is really at the end of the road,but its not a large island. About #4: Had a little issue with initially getting in (key was missing from the lock box), but a neighbor was able to use "WhatsApp" to contact Rene (manager) and we got the key within 20 minutes. Air conditioners are in each bedroom for comfortable sleeping but will need to use the fan in the main area if it's really hot (wasn't too hot in April and there was a good breeze most of the time). Unit was clean, nicely laid out, and very comfortable for our family. Two bedrooms on the first floor and one on the second. Unit was only a few steps from the pool area and had a nice ocean view. This will not be our last visit to Marazul!

We very much enjoyed the stay at the house. The house is clean, spacious and well-maintained, and you have everything you need for cooking. The view onto the sea and the swimming pool from the balcony is lovely. We also enjoyed being a short-drive away from beautiful beaches.

Marazul resort was heavenly. This unit is perfectly located and we'll supplied. Host was responsive. Would highly recommend.

We had a great stay at this property. The property worked out great for 5 adults. It was very clean and well maintained. We cooked many of our meals there, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Having the lower and upper patios was very nice. The main level patio was great for breakfast and lunch, while the upper patio was perfect for dinner and relaxing in the evenings. We very much enjoyed swimming and snorkeling in front of the property. The water is crystal clear. The pool was also very clean. The complex as a whole is well maintained and inviting. The flowering bushes are so pretty. Communication and booking with the owner was easy. We enjoy this quiet part of the island and hope to return soon.

This was an absolutely beautiful property which is a bit out of the way if you want the bar/shopping scene of Willemstad...exactly what we wanted. Very close to all the best beaches. We had to update a few of the kitchen supplies but it was well worth it given the exceptionally reasonable price Dianne is asking for this lovely, spacious condo. Security is good, and there is a nice German dive shop (Ranchsobrino) where one can certify, or rent equipment 50 yards away. My wife is already talking about going back!

From start to finish our experience with this unit is five star. Very clean. Well appointed. Comfortable. Great area to slow down from life’s crazies and met several nice residents and renters. Good place to escape. The diving here was the best other than Watamula— did several boat dives which were nice but the marazul house reef delivered. Don’t be intimidated by the steps. It’s WORTH it.

Just returned home from 8 nights in unit 4. This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this villa in the last 5 or so years. It was just the 2 of us staying in a 3 bedroom, but the value is so good that we rent this large unit anyway. We love that it is near the pool so we can relax after a day of diving. The diving off shore is some of the best shore diving we have done in Curacao and I think snorkeling around the cliff would be good as well. The view is one of the most breath taking moments. From sun up to sun down it can't be beat. The iguanas on the wall are always waiting for a snack. They love bananas. It may be a little far from the action but it's a short drive away.

I can not review Dianne’s specific unit #4 in Marazul Dive Resort as we got bumped to another unit as she had double booked hers. Beware as residents claimed it was not the first time she had over booked her unit. We stayed in unit 12 which was a similar 3 bedroom layout. As it turned out unit 4 would have been noisier by the pool and unit 12 towards the far end of the resort was very quiet and a nicer location for us. The only issue was that the unit was not freshly cleaned for us as the manager was also not aware of the confusion in changed units. One air conditioner was not working but the manager was great and promptly got it fixed. I would suggest that you contact the Marazul resort directly to book a unit to avoid confusion and they will know the best available unit. Overall we really enjoyed this property. It is about as remote as possible on Curacao which really suited us. There are many nice snorkel spots very near and in front of the resort is also quite good. You can walk to Playa Grandi and snorkel with the turtles. Just take note that you are about 30 minutes from a good grocery store.
