Reviewer Comments: Because of work being done on Summerhouse this year, we were provided a unit in Ocean Club 1302. The unit was much too big for the 2 of us, but had a FANTASTIC view of the ocean.We were not told of work being done on Ocean Club or the condo south of us. We were greeted by men on scaffolding walking in front of our windows. At times, there were very loud noises of drilling/hammering, etc. from the workmen. We left to go grocery shopping and returned to no water. NO one contacted us or seemed concerned when we called. We understand some emergencies happen, but the lack of concern bothered us. The dining room light would not turn off and glowed from low to high. Again, no one seemed concerned. We were afraid of a fire hazard. Someone came to help me with getting on line with my computer,and when he was there,he tried to fix the switch. He got a shock from the switch which scared all of us!We have used Island Realty for 20 years and have been very pleased with the units and service we received. We were very aware this time that the residents of Ocean Club were very unfriendly and snobbish. Even people walking/running, etc. on Isle of Palms seems very snobbish. We definitely felt unwelcome. We paid alot of money for this vacation and have never felt this way before. We hope next year we can return to Summerhouse. We have stayed in several other condos on IOP, but we felt this Summerhouse was the best for us.

There was good communication about the things that did not work in the condo, but it needs a major update, especially bathrooms. It was not cleaned well with some things just ignored, like a bathtub.

Dishwasher has weird racks that allow a lot of dishes to move while loading. Dryer takes forever to dry a load of towels. This place and Dozin by the Sea at Holden Beach are definitely on my return visits for next year.

A little disappointed at the cleanliness of our unit as we walked in. Such a beautiful place should have a better cleaning crew. The condo, location and amenities were awesome!! The view and beach, priceless. Good time had by all. We all didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back.

WE HAD A COUPLE MINOR DISAPPOINTMENTS SUCH AS THE MASTER TUB JETS WERE NOT OPERATABLE, THE SLIDING PATIO DOORS WERE STIFF AND HARD TO OPEN & CLOSE: I CALLED MAINTENCE BUT THEY NEVER DID COME TO DO THAT, BUT I WASNT GOING TO WASTE MY VACATION SEEKING HOW THE HELP SO LET IT GO, LAST RENTERS TRASH WAS NEVER REMOVED, DISH WASHER FROM PREVIOUS RENTER WAS NEVER CLEANED & PUT AWAY PRIOR TO OUR ARRIVAL & THERE WAS A CRACKED GLASS AS WELL. OTHER THAN THESE MINOR BLIPS WE ENJOYED THE VIEW AND THE RENTAL IN GENERAL. THE VIEW WAS BREATHTAKING AND THE WALK TO THE BEACH WAS A VERY EASY ONE. IT WAS A GREAT & BEAUTIFUL LOCATION IN GENERAL WE LOVE WILD DUNES. WE WOULD & HOPE COME BACK AGAIN.

We also appreciate the furniture upgrades that have been made since our last visit. That said, the jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom did not work, neither the jets nor the drain plug to hold water. Also, the elevator closest to our condo was broken for two days. We were able to walk to other elevators. Finally, we stayed at the condo when the calendar switched to a new month. Unfortunately, the rental company didn’t tell us that meant there would be new codes to enter the premises and the pool area. We got stuck at the gate trying to get in and had to rely on someone in the car behind us to get the new code. Again, for what we paid to stay there, we should have been told. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I know the difference between ocean view and ocean front and was adamant that I wanted to see, hear, smell the ocean. And boy did we. Mother Nature has washed away the beach in front of the condo so that only at low tide were you able to walk directly in front; although there was beach in view only a few hundred yards down. We were not disturbed but rather intrigued at the engineering efforts at saving and refurbishing the sand. The garage was closed as some of the underpinnings had been damaged by high tides. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our time while wondering what Mother Nature had in store. The condo itself was beautifully furnished and comfortable with a kitchen more complete than mine at home - tho why would one cook with all the excellent restaurants nearby. The 2 ocean bedrooms were a bonus - one larger and better closet and bath but with only 2 couples, those in the smaller room spread out into the 3rd bed and bath. The condo was exceptionally clean and the one maintenance concern (condensation from a/c on laundry floor) was immediately seen to.

The property was clean and spacious. The only downside was the dryer. The door popped open and it took a while to dry clothes. However that would definitely not prevent me from staying here again.

Reviewer Comments: Condo is beautiful, scenery is great but the ocean going under the building with tropical storm Hermine coming cut my vacation short because the decision was made to go home. It is a shame that this beautiful condo, as well as others in this building are sustaining this problem. I also was told that the turtle group is demanding that the barriers being used to help with the erosion have demanded that these barriers be removed. No one is a bigger animal lover than me but we are talking about peoples' lives and homes. I stayed in this condo in May and loved it so that I chose to rent it again while packing up a beach house that I sold which had been in our family since 1966. Imagine my disappointment in not being able to relax after the movers left because I felt it necessary to leave because of the water. Hope this issue can be resolved for all.
