My family enjoyed a long weekend, taking advantage of the pond for swimming and boating, the walk to the nearby waterfall, and the fire pit for some evening smores. Major Tom was helpful and, as others noted, brought us fresh eggs and was available if anything came up. We all had a wonderful time. Minor mark down on cleanliness because there were mouse droppings on the pans kept in the lower shelves of the kitchen, as wells as a large pile of droppings--presumably more than a couple days worth--on the second floor balcony that we had to sweep out before our dog got at them. But all together it was a wonderful stay!

I was here for 2 1/2 weeks with my dog. We had a great time really enjoyed all the beautiful property and the ponds and the ducks. Hope to come back again.

The cabin is nestled tucked away. There is another cabin next to you. Our cabin was so lovely. It is right near the pond and there are friendly ducks. Duck food was provided and our girls loved feeding them. We brought our pup, a basset hound, who loved hiking with us and enjoying all the new smells. Liz answered all my questions and Major Tom greeted us when we checked in. He brought us fresh eggs! The rooms were clean and we loved the openness of the living space and kitchen. We enjoyed a movie night when it was raining and our last night we did a camp fire to roast marshmallows. Major Tim brought us dry firewood and started the campfire for us! He was attentive and so helpful. The bathtub was wonderful to use after a long day of white water rafting which we did at a place only 10 minutes drive. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to come back in the fall. We all had a fun and relaxing time.

What a beautiful, peaceful, slice of nature! The perfect mix of relaxation and active enjoyment! The cabin was so comfortable and accommodating, the immediate yard was great for fires and kids playing, the pond and trails were fun to explore, and the waterfall was magical! Hosts were responsive and inviting, and Major Tom was so generous with his farm fresh eggs and tips for watching the gorgeous sunset! Really hoping to return regularly!

The cabin is stunning and very well equipped. We had a great time. It was clean and super quiet. We enjoyed exploring the wildlife that surrounded us and hiking in the nearby State Park (and the creek that runs just behind the cabin). Liz and Major Tom were super attentive and welcoming. We'll be happy to come again.

My family of 4 enjoyed our stay. My boys liked ping pong and shuffleboard (no pool table as listed). The pond in our opinion was not swim friendly but the boys did canoe some. We enjoyed camp fires. We liked the walk to the waterfall but the trails are not marked well so a little hard to find but Major Tom gave good instructions that helped. We enjoyed being near the state parks to hike at and did white water raft which was fun.
Kitchen had what we needed and doing some laundry was really helpful as this was the second leg of our vacation. Shower was tight and was missing soap so bring your own. Overall a good find and a fun time.

The memories we collected carry much more value then material gifts. From times around the campfire to wild scenes of Nana with her first fish landed only with the assistance of her 4 year old grandson. From feeding the ducks to canoe rides on the pond. What a wonderful vacation.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at the cabin. Everything was exactly as described, from the waterfall, hiking, trail and fishing. We are already talking about visiting again.

My spouse loves Timberframe homes so this was an absolute treat!
All you hear is the stream below and the birds…. Such a beautiful and serene property.
Way more space then we needed and would highly recommend for a couples weekend or girls weekend as well.

All the reviews are true! This cabin is beautiful, clean, fun, welcoming, unique, and comfortable. Close enough to Kalahari for the kids a day but spent most time on the property. You can’t beat fresh eggs and jam from Major Tom as well as his vast knowledge of the area. The fishing was awesome for our kids. Bedding was super comfy. Can’t wait to come back!

This is the second stay for my family at Brookside. What we enjoy most is having access to 370+ acres which includes fish ponds and paths for meandering. There's a nearby stream and waterfall to explore, plus easy access to the D&L trail for walking or biking. Also, Hickory Run State Park is close by for hiking. Overall, a very relaxing place to escape!

From the moment we stepped on the property and heard the running water behind the house it set the mood for our trip. It was such a quiet few days. No people, no noise. Just birds, water and relaxation. Our dog loved the off leash long walk down the trail. Coffee on the deck was enjoyed each morning sitting in the “egg” swinging chair, listening to the tiny water falls. Not only was the outside wonderful but the inside of the house was amazing and comfortable. It was just what we needed.

What a lovely place! This was exactly what we were looking for - a cozy cabin nestled on a beautiful property surrounded by nature! The cabin has all the natural charm and comfort of a well- loved and maintained property. Fully stocked kitchen, lots of blankets, comfortable beds and lots of things to see and do! Major Tom and Liz were also fabulous hosts and went above and beyond to make everything very easy and seamless for us! Thank you for a wonderful weekend, we look forward to returning!

Our annual family Thanksgiving weekend in the cabin did not disappoint! The cabin was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Liz is a gracious host that made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed a nice hike followed by Smores at the fire pit. A beautiful area to spend time and relax! We hope to come back again and explore a few more areas.
Thank you for a wonderful time!

What a beautiful place. The cabin is gorgeous. Very well stocked. We enjoyed it so much. The friendly ducks greeted us every day, waiting for their food. They even ate out of our hand. Miss them. The walking trails were great. Everything was spectacular. Major Tom, the host, was so informative and any questions you had, he answered. And he even gave us some eggs from his chickens.
If you want to relax and just enjoy the outdoors with so many places to walk, the ponds, and watching the sunset, this is the place to be. We will definitely be back.
Thanks, Major Tom and Liz.

We had the good fortune to stay the weekend at Liz's beautiful lodges in Weatherly, PA. Couldn't have hoped for a better place for our adult family and two dogs to relax and enjoy nature! The cabin/lodge was awesome - rustic, yet full of amenities - everything you need. Major Tom took great care of us, recommending places to go, trails to take to their waterfall, best sunset viewing spaces, etc. And the ducks - they were one of the big hits of the weekend. Can't thank you folks enough for allowing us to stay with you - we'll be back!

Great visit to a beautiful location. We enjoyed being able to bring our dog with us. My son got a lot of use out of the paddle boat on the pond. My favorite was taking the bikes down the back trail to connect with the D&L trail to see Buttermilk Falls and Luke's Falls.

Short trip with the family but it was a great stay on beautiful property. The cabins, ponds, waterfall allow you to get lost in nature. Having Major Tom is a big plus, fresh eggs for breakfast, directions around town or property, help with campfire , tips for fishing and more stories than Stephen King. We will definitely be back for a longer stay with a larger group. Could see renting both cabins and bring the ATVs etc…
Thanks again!!!

What an amazing property! We enjoyed it immensely. The woods and creek are just gorgeous. My son and husband fished the ponds, and I floated. We hiked, biked, and just enjoyed our time together. The house is so well built and has everything you could want. Porches galore! The sunsets and stars were awesome. Major Tom checks in to make sure you have everything you need.

We wanted to get away for a short weekend and this cabin and grounds was absolutely amazing. Our 3 kids all had a blast from swimming and small boating in the pond to the game room and feeding the ducks. Everything about our stay was perfect. We also took a short hike (about a mile) to the waterfall nearest the property and that was a beautiful day out and very exciting for the kids. We will most certainly be back! Thanks again for everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The place is exactly as shown in the photos and description. The kitchen is fully stocked with all needed items to stay in and cook the entire weekend. Linens, towels, toiletries, and paper products were provided. The cabin is beautiful, private and peaceful. We were especially grateful that we could bring our two dogs along - as our lab loved swimming in the pond in front of the cabin. Our host, Major Tom, was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Overall, this location was a dream! We really enjoyed spending so much time exploring the beautiful outdoors and taking a break from electronics for a few days! I understood from the listing that there was a swimming pond and a fishing pond but these ended up being one in the same. The kids didn’t mind at all but it definitely was not ideal for swimming as it was quite fishy!!!

Beautiful cabin and amenities. The three ponds are very peaceful - one is fully stocked with fish. No problem at all with internet service. It was nice to see the ducks on their daily trek to the lower pond. We had some nice walks with our dogs through the surrounding fields and woods. Lola my older dog just loved cooling off in the ponds and watching the deer at dusk. The perfect long weekend getaway!

Major Tom met with us when we arrived. He gave us the lay out of the property. Introduced us to the ducks, the best path to the waterfall, where all ponds are, and where the paths would take us and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The property was tranquil and peaceful. We were able to unplug and unwind from our hectic lives. It is the perfect place to practice self-grounding, and re center yourself.

The host family was friendly, kind and caring. The lodge and property were lovely and provided a cozy stay.
We were tickled by the extra touches, including those to welcome "Wilbur the dog". He loved perching on the back of the couches and watching the ducks and squirrels. We took several walks a day on the many trails. Beautiful property!

The cabin and location were idyllic. The cabin was truly a work of art with its carved furnishing and the beautiful birch staircase. The host was very attentive and very involved with the experience from building a fire in the outdoor firepit, making dinner recommendations and sharing stories about the family who built the cottages.
