Nate and David are gracious hosts and keep the property in impeccable condition. They thought of everything you might on your trip and it's there in the house waiting for you. My biggest surprise was the Tesla charger so when I rolled up in my Model 3, I didn't have to worry about charging the entire time I was there. We enjoyed a nightly dip in the hot tub and few fires in the outdoor fire pit with some of the wood that was chopped and ready to go for us. You can't go wrong stay here!

Our family had a wonderful vacation at the Jackalope Lodge. The house is lovely and has just about every convenience you could want. The setting is beautiful and so peaceful. Unfortunately we picked an unusually hot week to visit which meant we spent a little less time than we had planned enjoying the outdoors. I’m not a fan of the heat. The main floor of the house got a bit hot but the lower level of the house where the tv is stayed completely comfortable and the bedroom air conditioners were wonderful. It was too hot for the hot tub but we enjoyed the screened porch in the morning and evening. We especially enjoyed all the hummingbirds that visited the feeders on the deck and listening to the other birds in the trees. We have AT&T and there was no cell reception at the house but the WiFi was excellent. We had everything we needed and the hosts were extremely responsive and so nice. My son is already asking if we can go back in the winter to enjoy the skiing in the area!

We had a fantastic vacation in this lovely home!

My partner and I are incredibly busy with our businesses, kids, pets and life so we wanted a weekend away to unwind, write and just relax. This was the perfect place to do that. The house was beautiful and the area was so peaceful. Everything went smooth and easy. We never even left via car the entire time we were there. We took small hikes, sat in the hot tub at night and spent time together. Perfect getaway. Thank you Nathan and Dave for the weekend we needed.

The house was great! Super clean, comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen, which has not only cookware but spices, sugar, etc. I even found nutmeg:) The check in process was flawless, and we felt very welcome, right down to the bottle of wine left for our arrival. Close to great hiking, cross country skiing, and, of course, Sunday River. It was nice having the tv room downstairs, but the living room open to the kitchen. Very cozy, but allowed for some separation. Probably one of the most welcoming VRBOs we’ve stayed in.

I can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our stay. The place was so cute and nicely decorated, super clean, and has everything we could ever want. We all thought the beds were super comfortable and the hot tub was a perfect touch for our mountain getaway. Thank you so so much for hosting one of my favorite properties i’ve rented! We hope to return sometime in the future

What a beautiful property! We do an annual girls trip each year and with Covid, we wanted somewhere private and Jackalope Lodge was perfect! We explored the woods, and star gazed in the hot tub every night! Nathan and Dave are amazing hosts! We will definitely will be back!!

This an exceptional rental from beginning to end. As three mid-twenty year olds working remote for five weeks this seemed like a risky booking, but wow did it pay off! Communication with the hosts was clear right from the start, and the contactless checkin was seamless. The decor makes for a warm seasonal touch. Within hours we were able to settle in, making the place feel like home. All three of us were working remote with constant video calls and downloads and the internet was fantastic. We regularly cooked large meals and the kitchen was full of basic cooking utensils and great appliances. After dinner we enjoyed lounging in the living room with the electric fireplace. We also took full advantage of the hot tub, especially under the night sky and there’s plenty of fire logs for an outdoor fire in the fire pit. Indoors, the finished basement with an Apple TV was a great place to unwind. We also enjoyed the surrounding area, even during covid. Socially distanced wine tastings, some fun takeout options, beautiful hikes/bike/running routes. And the leaf peeping was incredible!! None of us had ever spent this much time in Maine and we were all truly blown away. We fully recommend this property for anyone looking for all comforts of home while also embracing the wonderful outdoors of Maine.

Nate and Dave did not forget one detail! The cabin is spotless and beautiful! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the humming birds buzzing around on the deck, relaxing in the beautiful hot tub and having our morning tea at the fire pit! Everything was just perfect! Nate was so helpful with places to go and things to do! We will definitely be back! Thank you for everything Nathan and Dave!!!!

Great price, great location, responsive owners. Sunday River is close for skiing and cabin has great snowshoeing trails right off the backyard.

I don't ordinarily write reviews but felt compelled. Our stay was awesome. Not only was the house, grounds, views and hot tub fantastic, but the service from Nathan and David was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!!

What a great place! Beautiful property only 20 minutes from Sunday River. Plenty of towels, linen and the cupboards were well stocked with cooking ingredients etc. Hot tub was great too. Modern with beautiful furnishings while maintaining the classic ski lodge feel. Thanks so much Dave and Nate for sharing your property with us.

The house is very private with plenty of room for our family to spread out and relax yet it was close enough to restaurants and skiing to make it very convenient. We had a wonderful week!!

This property had everything we wanted and more! The owners were so helpful and super responsive to our questions. Wonderful hot tub to relax in after skiing and the sound system was such an added bonus! We will be back!

We stayed at Jackalope for two weeks and were very happy with our stay. Nathan and Dave are wonderful hosts, responding immediately to any questions we had. The house is as shown, but even better in person. It's a very private setting, surrounded by trees and with lovely wildflowers in the yard. The house was extremely clean and everything was in good working order. Lovely, tasteful furnishings. A great place for a family to stay. We've stayed in many VRBO houses over the years, and this one is definitely near the top - if not the top! Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

The Jackelope Lodge was an outstanding property from start to finish. Not only were the hosts incredibly gracious and responsive, but the property was incredibly High quality from top to bottom. This is our 3rd stay at this incredible home. We always stay here for our family ski getaway over February break. We have a 9 year old and 12 year old. It literally has everything you will ever need. Upon arrival, you will find it is immaculately clean with a special touch of a bottle of wine from your hosts. There is so much space to spread out and yet it has the most charming feel. The hosts have really made an effort to really give the home charming attention to detail. We love the outdoor hot tub every day after a long day of skiing and the amazing flatscreen with surround sound downstairs feels like your at the movies. They offer so many amazing options for movies each night and we really look forward to that. It has an ideal proximity to Sunday River as it is around 15-20 minute drive which we actually like as the house is so quiet and private. You feel like your really in nature with such a beautiful view. This really is our home away from home. Thank you again!

We had a great stay at this house for our first trip to ski Sunday River. The owners were so easy to work with. The house was clean, nicely furnished, and very comfortable for our family of five. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. We will definitely rent again.

We stayed here for five days with my brother's family to ski at Sunday River and celebrate Christmas together. While the conditions on the slopes could have been better, the cabin was perfect. The cabin is well set up and very comfortable. It was wonderfully decorated for the holidays (we loved all the small lights and big owl lights),and had everything we wanted in terms of cooking, sleeping, and entertainment. A special source of happiness was the jacuzzi after fighting the icy patches on the mountain!

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! We spent several weeks here over the summer and truly enjoyed every minute. The layout of the cabin was perfect for our family & our 2 boys loved the bunk bed room. We also enjoyed walks on the path behind the cabin and saw several deer and turkeys! The location was also perfect as it's just a short ride into town. The best part was how amazing the owners are to work with... they were really great & very accommodating! We'll definitely be back!

Every year, my husband and I choose to go away to the mountains for a relaxing, quiet break from our chaotic lives. We have good experiences with Home Away, but Jackalope lodge is the best place we’ve stayed, by far! First of all, the setting is incredible. Nestled between Bethel and Newry, there’s enough to feel secluded but not isolated. The view from the porch is incredible and the outdoor activities are marvelous. We hiked the White Mtn National Forrest, visited waterfalls, grilled out for dinner, played pool at the local inn, made the most perfect fire, watched the beautiful hummingbirds on the deck, did star gazing from backyard, the list goes on. Secondly, the actual lodge is gorgeous...so comfy and luxurious at the same time. The hot tub is amazing! Everything you need is there for you (fire pit, grill, movies, mountains, sunset views, wildlife, you name it!). And lastly, and as importantly, the owners are AWESOME! They are attentive, caring hosts...very responsive to any questions we had, provided great suggestions for our trip, and upon arrival, had a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. It was such a great trip, my husband and I are hoping to be back for the winter season...even bringing some friends. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, look no further than Jackalope lodge. Highly recommend! :)

This home is not only beautiful but well equipped and functional. The kitchen was stocked with high quality cookware and serve ware to make cooking just as enjoyable as home. The AV system is amazing, with apple TV and excellent quality speakers in the great room/porches that stream right from your phone. We skied Sunday River and it's about a 20 min drive. Once back from the mountain, it's easy to relax amongst the gorgeous views. Can't wait to return!

This is our second stay at this beautiful spot and once again it did not disappoint. It truly does have all the modern amenities except with all the special comfort and charm that really makes you feel at home. It is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. The Apple TV with free movies is a special touch along with being able to do laundry. We used the hot tub every night which was wonderful after a long day skiing. There really isn’t a thought or special touch that hasn’t been thought of. We also love that it is close approx. 15 minutes from Sunday River but away from the hustle and bustle. The house is set back in a way that makes you feel like you are all by yourself away from it all. We truly love coming here and look forward to our annual trip every year. We will definitely be back again and can not wait!

The owners are great to deal with. Very welcoming experience. 20 minutes to Sunday River was an easy drive. If you don’t need rentals, strongly recommend parking at White Cap. Easy parking close to lodge and never busy. House was immaculately kept. Hot tub is serviced weekly and crystal clear water. Thank you so much for taking our 2 families in (4 adults, 4 kids 11-15y/o)!
