We enjoyed our fantastic beach vacation, the house was very clean, well-maintained and contributed to a comfortable and inviting atmosphere! It truly felt like a home away from home, The well-equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals, and the dining area provided the perfect view! The oceanfront stay had stunning views of the waves and private access to the beach. Each day was filled with relaxation and fun activities, from sunbathing and swimming to building sandcastles and walking the beach looking for shells! The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, the nights were peaceful, with the sound of the waves providing a soothing backdrop. Our time here has been rejuvenating, memorable, and filled with joy! When we walked into the house, we knew immediately we were in Love with this House!!! The first thing I noticed was the open floorplan, the beautiful beachy décor, all the wonderful natural sunlight from all the windows, the pretty colors…all so inviting. Then we walked out to the Oceanfront deck my husband and I were in awe. We were both so happy that this would be our vacation!!! As time passed, I noticed more and more how clean the whole house was, which I fully appreciated because I am a clean freak. The housecleaners had done a wonderful job! The furniture and house was in good condition. The refrigerator and appliances seem to be new. The bathrooms are very attractive and updated. The longer we stayed the more we really appreciated all the spaciousness of the living area, dining area, bedrooms, and also the comfortable beds and furniture! This house is an older design on the street side but you wouldn’t know it from the inside. And the location is amazing. I can’t say enough compliments about the house because we loved it!. The owner was very kind to call us on day 2 to make sure everything was OK. We had no complaints at all. This was our first time in Holden Beach. We only vacation in NC every other year but we WILL definitely be back! My only regret is that we couldn’t stay another week.

The house was spacious upstairs. We liked the open floor plan. We did not need to use the two rooms in the basement but they seemed spacious. Kitchen was well equipped compared to others we have stayed in at Holden. This is an older home. There is wear, especially in the primary bath. We ended up using the hall bath instead as it had an exhaust fan. Be aware that this home has very steep and narrow stairs from the lower level to upper. Was a little challenging for me and could be for anyone with a mobility issue, Beach location is great. At this time there is a good sized dune that you have to go down and climb up to access and return from the beach. I would advise bringing your own linens as the owner is very specific about charging fees for any type of staining from makeup, skincare products, etc on the linens provided. We always bring our own so this was not an issue for us. You may want to bring your own dish towels too as there are none provided. Make sure you get the rental agreement the owner requires when you book. VRBO did not send it and I ended up having to review and sign it the night before we were to check in which was not fun. I think that the agreement should be made available to read before you ask to book the property. The property has plenty of room if you have a big family. The volleyball area is nice for kids. Two tables for dining gives lots of room for games and puzzles. A small gas grill is provided which was very useful for us.

This beach house has an open floor plan and large bedrooms which was great for our large family gathering. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. We enjoyed the covered deck area with benches and rocking chairs. Could've used some side tables. The house is showing its age and there are things that need to be updated and or replaced, including furniture pieces with plastic covers that are cracked and sharp which led to cuts and scrapes of hands and legs. The blinds have broken slats and multiple lights don't work even after changing light bulbs. We did enjoy the beach and no crowds!

The property was just the right size and set up for our family - 5 adults and 3 children age 8 - 10. The sun room was great for the kids. The house was well maintained. The rugs were a little dirty but the owner had rug cleaners set up to come in as we were leaving. The owner was very responive to anh issues. We had a great time

Pros: Spacious, enough bedrooms and plenty of beds, lots of seating in the living room, great seafront deck, awesome beach location with a great sandbar that protected the shore from huge waves, very family friendly stretch of beach. Cons: fluorescent lighting, uncomfortable clear plastic over some upholstery, not cleaned well, tables were gross (dirt under glass on one table top, dirty grout between tiles on another table), wood floor between carpets was filthy when a wet paper towel was taken to it, bathrooms are gross. Light fixtures awful. Could charge a lot more if you just painted it, redid showers, redid lighting, and updated it a bit to make it look nicer and took all the plastic off upholstered furniture.

The property is on the quiet end of the island. The long board walk was very helpful taking our things to the beach. There is more than ample seating for the meals or watching TV. The open face design with the kitchen, dining, and seating allows a family to interact with each other while in the house.

Very nice area. Clean. Fully equipped. Don is an excellent host. Good communication. Lots of beach equipment. Loved the outdoor enclosed shower.

The house was perfect for our trip.

There are so many wonderful things about this property. We had six adults and two kids and were very comfortable throughout our week at the beach. The house is private, especially when sitting on the front porch, which was nice. We loved the private boardwalk to the beach And the cart provided was especially helpful when taking things out. The location was great toward the end of the island. Not a lot of people on the beach and plenty of shells to be found! There’s a cool volleyball net near the house, which was great for the kids. The floor plan was nice and open, and the sunroom was a bonus space that we really utilized! Sooooo, while this had the potential to be a five star rating, the entire place just needed a general upgrade. The main bathroom smelled a bit of sewage (which we treated with Drano while we were there); a few of the beds were so hard that it affected sleep patterns (esp the Queen downstairs); Duct tape held together a few of the box springs; all of the bathroom were updated but each shower stall was chipping, peeling, or cracking in numerous places; the deck needs to be refinished (splinter the first day for our 6 year old); a dehumidifier ran on lower level 24/7 as suggested (not terrible, but I am not sure it is an effective unit as it never switched off) Overall, we had a positive stay. None of the problems were big enough to contact the owner, but over the week they added up. I will say the place was clean and enjoyable, but needs attention

First the positives. Great location and the beach is beautiful on this end of the island. The house is dated and we were expecting that, but it was not clean. Toilets had urine all over them, and was minimally clean in other areas of the house. Blinds in one of the downstairs bedrooms were completely trashed. The owner was informed of all the issues above and never responded. The lack of owner response is the reason for this review. I emailed with a question that was never answered and given his non response when we were less than 24 hours before check in we had no information on how to access the house. After many attempts via phone and email with no response, VRBO contacted the owner as well. When we did hear from him he promised access info and he didn’t follow through and we had to reach out again. I will not rent this property nor recommend it to others.

Great location. Quiet and comfortable and just steps away from the beach. We rested, relaxed, ate good, took long walks on the beach and enjoyed the view from the porch. Loved watching deer and rabbits from the porch.

We’ve been renting homes on Holden Beach since my girls were 6 & 8. Now my daughters, and their families come down. The weather was perfect and the ocean was warm for an April vacation. This is not always the case. The house was clean and comfortable for all of us. Even though we were farther away from the beach. It worked out great because we played baseball with my grandsons on the beach during low tide. Thanks for a great stay.

The house could not have been better for the five adults in our party. Open concept large, well equipped kitchen, dining and living area was perfect. All furniture was very comfortable but we especially enjoyed the porch furniture. Only suggestion I would make, that would prove very helpful, is to replace cumbersome stepping stones (and sand spurs) around the side of the house from the driveway to the grill area. Steps up from grill through front of the house are fewer, and wider than interior steps, and would make loading and unloading MUCH easier, particularly for us seniors. But, as long as I can manage that, I will look forward to my next stay on Holden Beach!

Ocean front property implies a view of the beach. If that is not true it should be the first line of the property description. A great house but you can’t see the beach. The house and beach were great. It is unlikely that we would return.

We cannot wait to stay here again. Great house and attentive owner, he has always taken care of any issues we have ever had. House is very clean and comfortable. We love staying here.

Don's house was very clean and once he provides you with your entry code, the access was flawless. House has great amenities - garage is a huge plus! The back porch and walkway to the beach were awesome. The views were spectacular! Outdoor shower was surprisingly great - I had never encountered an outdoor shower before so my expectations were low - but this shower was super clean, roomy and the hot water was great! Our entire crew used it all week. The kitchen was fully stocked - nothing missing. The house has ample seating throughout for a large group. Enjoy your trip to Holden Beach. Take the journey to the mailboxes and the local restaurants were all great!

I feel like we just experienced a little bit of Paradise here on earth for a few days. The natural beauty of this part of the Island is just so pretty and peaceful that it is rejuvenating. We brought my Mom here for a much needed respite. We were very happy with our choice. The house was exceptionally clean, spotless I'd say. The furniture all very comfortable. Don was very thoughtful to text us on Monday just to make sure everything was OK. Just what we needed for our family. We hope to return.

We loved the view and closeness of the beach. Very quiet and relaxing. Don was very accommodating and was there if we needed anything. Would stay again.

It was nice very relaxing setting beach not overly crowded a good experience

Loved the openness of the home, plenty of seating. Only downside was at the end of walkway, going a few steps up to the top of the dune on the way to the beach wasn't a problem but navigating the super soft sand getting back up the dune heading home was problematic for folks with bad knees. But even that couldn't stop the pleasure of the island, would definitely visit again!!!

This property was just as described and a perfect spot for our family to have some rest and relaxation. Don, the manager, was available to answer any questions. It was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The location at the far west side of the island was a great place to start some great runs, had plenty of room on the beach and the view was just lovely. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a FABULOUS week because the house and beach were so perfect for us!!!This is one of those vacation homes where you just like so many little details about it. The house itself is spacious , VERY CLEAN, Comfortable and in a Great Location!.My husband and I came with our best friends and both sets of our teenage daughters as a diversion from remote learning. So it was great that all the rooms and bedrooms were very roomy for our two families and lots of closet space. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and easy access to the beach. This Beach House, is well taken care of and is just so welcoming..As first time visitors to Holden Beach, we were all thrilled with this very peaceful, quiet Island and the beautiful Beach here!!!. The Island is mostly all residential. The location has so much privacy and provides beautiful views of the ocean and dunes. Our kids loved the wide expansive beach (unique), the badminton/volleyball net on the oceanfront side of the house as well as the privacy here. . .The house has its own private walkway all the way to the beach sand which you can easily walk because there are no steps - easy walking made easier with the Beach Buggy they provided for carrying the cooler, towels and chairs - very thoughtful. And of course everyone loved the outdoor shower, no one wanted to take showers indoors.The owner was friendly and helpful...the Beach Buggy axle broke so he had the Buggy replaced the next day. We could not have asked for a better beachfront experience at Holden Beach - we will definitely be back!
