The only item we had an issue with was that the air conditioning was programmed not allowing temperature to be set below 72 degrees. Even with the fans on at night, it was not comfortable sleeping. 70 might have been a better temperature.

The rental exp was very easy. Great job of communicating by the owners/property managers. Only issue is it could have been cleaned better. We actually had to clean some areas when we got there. But other than that it was great and I would recommend. It slept 5 adults comfortably. We would come back!

This is a really nice property for a family gathering. We had 6 adults, 2 toddlers, and one infant and it was plenty of space. Only about 2 minute walk to the community pool which is a great place for kids. Beach club access was really awesome and the garage was stocked full of toys and beach things. Overall great stay and super nice house, the owners are super responsive too with any questions we had. The only negative were that the downstairs bedroom does not have any blinds in the windows, so you are pretty much subject to sunrise and sunset for trying to sleep. This was difficult for the kids trying to take naps, but we still managed. Also there are 9 remotes on the coffee table which is excessive. Trying to get anything on the TV to work was super difficult. They really need to simplify this as we still were unable to get Netflix to load and had to just stream from our iPad instead. These were both minor issues and did not take away from our enjoyment of renting this property and I would fully recommend it for a larger family

What a fantastic place! Do not hesitate to book. The property is exactly as shown, in fact, even better. It was the most well stocked vacation home I’ve ever used; you will not want for anything. All of the recreational toys in the garage were a lifesaver and were used everyday. Great location to the best beaches and shaved ice on the island. We snorkeled a lot and all agreed the best was at the private beach club.

Beautiful location. Got to see goats on the golf course every day. Nice quiet area. Good location for stores shopping getting around. Nice pool. Residence as described in ad, would only request a second beach card and second garage door opener. Appreciated quick response and getting table and chair replaced due to prior damage .

If an option, i would have rated 4.75 stars. This is a great condo. Clean, spacious, plenty of dishes, pots, pans, comfortable beds, quality towels, etc. We had trouble with the fridge and a few other things and the management team was VERY responsive. The BUT... the flatware includes just 4 knives. A couple of the remotes had no batteries. The cutlery is dull. The place is beginning to show signs of wear. Edges of rugs are worn/torn, walls need paint, dining table has been broken and repaired poorly so it isn't flat, two of the dining chairs have broken lattice backings, living room furniture is beginning to sag. And yet, it is still a lovely location and very nice property, and I hope the owners put in the money necessary to make it truly 5 star again!

We will be back! Location is perfect, easy walk to the beach and ponds...lovely backyard view of the golf course. Kitchen is nicely equipped for those who enjoy creating meals at home. Toys in the garage were nice to have, snorkel gear was functional which was nice!!

This was our first time ever in The Big Island...tbis rental home was so beautiful clean the views were amazing any questions I had would be answered no matter the time, it was excellently equipped with everything you need from towels to pots and pans just such a welcoming atmosphere the neighborhood was clean and everyone was so friendly I would definitely be returning 💙

We had the best time staying at the Island Melody Villa. The house was just as pictured with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. It was plenty of space for two families. We cooked almost every meal in the kitchen and had all of the right supplies to do so. The location is also great. The quick walk to the pool was a breeze with little kids as was the short drive to the beach club. Having that access was really the cherry on top. We also frequently walked over to the grocery store. We loved making the quick drive to the black sand beach and beach 69. We had such a wonderful trip and will definitley be back!

A PERFECT PLACE TO STAY. IT HAS ALL BEACH EQUIPMENT THAT YOU NEED FOR A FAMILY OF SIX. THE BEDROOMS EACH HAVE THERE OWN SPACIOUS BATHROOM. THE GROUND ARE BEAUTIFUL AND THE PRIVATE BEACH IS PERFECT FOR KIDS AND ADULTS. WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.

This was one of our favorite places we hav stayed in 6 different times to Mauna Lani area. The house was close enough to walk to The Shops, to the hotels and to the Bay Club. The pool for the properties was a hit for our 10 year old twins. We will definitely be back!

The community is beautiful and well maintained. The condo was perfectly designed and had great views from upstairs bedrooms and downstairs great room and dining room. Some problems with the cleaning of the exterior furniture, but on the whole, a very nice unit. The bicycles provided are inadequate for any adult who is interested in a decent workout, but rental bicycles are available in the two Waikoloa shopping centers.

Great Location. Very nice development with a great common pool and grounds. A little more detail could be paid to the details and cleanliness and minor repairs.

Truly enjoyed our experience on this property on the big island. Wonderful location with a community pool within walking distance and private beach just a short drive away with a wonderful restaurant. Highly recommended for your Big Island vacation.

My husband and I and two of our children aged 11 and 3 stayed here with a good friend and her 9 yr old and 3 yr old. It was the perfect size for all of us. The stairs were a little scary at first but the toddlers learned to navigate them and were up and down the stairs all day! The kitchen had SO many pans and plates and cups and all the basic seasoning/oils we needed. There were lots of pool towels and we loved that each bedroom (all 3) had a master en-suite bathroom, all were great and big and luxurious. Just don’t try to soak in the tub at the same time as someone else, because the hot water wouldn’t supply the tubs all at once like that. The AC felt great!! It was the perfect staycation for us all during this pandemic, it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The pool and jacuzzi were great! We had that to ourselves basically the whole time too. And the property manager was always easy to reach when we had any questions. Definitely will be going back.

Overall great place to stay. We will stay here again. Half the bikes had flat tires so we weren’t able to use them but besides that this place was a Dream.

A pretty house in a well-kept, quiet location with a south-facing orientation and view over the golf course. All common facilities at Mauna Lani Resort, such as Pool, fitness centre, tennis courts, private beach etc. can be used free of charge and are in impeccable, well-kept condition. The Melody Villa itself is not so well maintained inside and outside. Cleaning the floors especially in the bathrooms, the floor boards, window frames and kitchen utensils could be much better. The entrance door, like the grille of the air conditioning system, would have to be cleaned from time to time. The bathroom carpets were so dirty that we didn't use them in all the time. These should also be washed and/or replaced after each tenant. Also the gas grill outside is visually heavily polluted (fat and dust), the terrace was definitely not cleaned for weeks.

Me and my family of 9 had a a lovely time at this property. It is truly one good luxurious home. The appliances and furniture all were modern and best in league. The best part about the home was it's bathrooms. All the three bathrooms were huge and had bath tubs. If I look back at the trip, I can say the location is one of the best. Although it's not on the beach but with beach club card access (you get by living on the property), you are 3 mins drive away. This beach is ideal with kids and also, we had one of the best snorkeling experiences as it has very easy entry for snorkeling and good variety of fishes, Also, close to it are lava caves and a trail which goes to fish ponds. It's fun to take a stroll to those in the evening. Hapuna beach/Beach 69 is 15 mins away and Foodland is 5 mins away for your grocery needs. One thing I would also like to mention is the garage is stocked with lot of gear to go to the beach. It is such a big huge plus and not all properties have it. It really helped to make our beach experience so much better. Overall, an amazing abode and definitely the best property that we lived in our Hawaii trip.

My family enjoyed a weeklong stay here and loved the home, its furnishings, amenities, and its proximity to the pool. The home was clean, comfortable, and felt luxurious. We would not hesitate to stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Our family of 4 had great fun in our first trip to the Big Island. A big part of this was the excellent accomodations offered at the Island Melody Villa. I had researched the property pretty well before the trip to make sure it fits our needs. A big help in this research was the excellent information provided online by the hosts. Upon arrival everything was as expected: roomy, clean, lots of privacy (being a corner unit), except that it looked and felt better once we were there vs looking at pics. The hosts were kind enough to let us check-in early and we were able to hit the pools on the same day. Here's is a summary of what we loved most about this home: - Large rooms with lots of space - Nice furntiture, comfortable beds - Lots of open space in the backyard for the kids to run around - 1 min walk to the pools - A garage full with all the toys needed for an excellent vacation: beach chairs and umbrellas, beach toys, bikes and helmets, snorkel gear, tennis rackets and much more. - 10 min walk or 1 min drive to the rec center and tennis courts - Access to a very family friendly beach club - 15 min drive to the best beaches on the island - 3 min drive to a shopping center with a grocery store and restaurants - The whole area felt very quiet and relaxed Everyone in our family loved our stay here and we highly recommend this home!

We traveled with another couple and had a great time staying in Island Melody Villa. It is very spacious, clean, and well appointed. We loved the location and access to the Beach Club. Paradise in Hawaii was very responsive to inquiries during the booking process, and we especially appreciated them allowing us to check out late on our departure date since we had an evening flight. All in all, a great experience, and we most likely will stay here again in the future.

This place had everything.....nice to have enough TP, paper towels....most up to date washer/dryer....so much room...and loved the view!!! The only problem was that there wasn't any info on how to operate the TVs.....nada....4 TVs with 4 or 5 remotes for each but nada....they did send out a really great guy to try and help....we suggested that he just get one working....with some luck he did.....very frustrating to say the least. Would rent it again but need to make sure all it working first. The most complete garage we had ever seen.....so many toys....beautiful, beautiful place.

I was ready to give this place five stars the second we walked in the door! My family used this rental for the last leg of our trip and it was perfect for us. There were 8 of us and with the additional futon bed in the upstairs loft area, everyone had their own space and there were more than enough bathrooms to ensure people weren't on top of each other. The kitchen was also perfect because we were able to make breakfasts and dinners to help cut down on costs to eat out. The condo is a close walk to the beach (and comes with everything you'd need for it), shops, a grocery store, etc. On top of that, they were so sweet and worked with us to give us an extra hour to check out on our final day (its amazing how hard it is to get 8 people up and moving). We did a lot of driving to the other side of the island to see things and I still have zero regrets about this place and the location. I would highly recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a nice, clean, relaxing rental that truly has everything you would need.

We stayed at Island Melody for a week in mid-August, 2018. It was a family reunion and we had three couples and three kids. Each couple had their own bedroom and bath, the oldest kid went on the day bed, and the two younger ones (9 and 11) slept on the couches downstairs. It was a bit cozy but plenty of bedding, towels, etc. made it doable. More than 6 adults would be a bit much, though. We ate in most of the time – stock up at the Costco in Kona! – and the excellent kitchen, outside BBQ, and large dining room were perfect and enabled us to save a ton of money. Jeff and Suzanne were fantastic at every turn, even going out of their way to purchase a bamboo steamer for the kitchen so my Chinese in-laws could make dumplings. The amenities were excellent as well and we used pretty much everything on our beach excursions. The private beach access is fantastic for kids who have never been in the ocean, the bikes are handy for the local area, and of course there is always the pool if you don’t feel like driving. Plenty of shopping, golf, and large resort attractions are within minutes of the house, and the main road is right there for access to everything else. Directions for getting to and accessing the house were clear and promptly provided and everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. We followed the directions when we left and received a thank you and our security deposit a few days later. We (family of 7) stayed at Island Melody Villa for 5 nights. We could not have been happier with the place. Not only did we have a great time at the house, but we appreciated everything bit of the place. The furnishings at the home was top notch - kitchen was very functional with pots, pans, blender, coffee maker, etc. I really liked the owners' touch of sending us a pre-arrival package on what to expect, which included the local things to do, tips to have a great time. The garage has a lot of stuff that the visitors can use - beach toys, snorkel gear, bikes. Thanks Jeff and Suzanne for letting us into your home and having a great time

This is a lovely, well-appointed and spacious condo with three full "master-style" bedrooms with large en suite baths, plus a half-bath. The photos do not do justice to the views of Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualalai mountains on clear days, as well as a pretty lake on the Mauna Lani Bay Resort golf course. Located in a quiet gated area, this condo is a more "mature" than some in the Mauna Lani area, so it does need a bit of updating--which the managers are doing, bit by bit. In fact, there have been updates since these photos were taken; instead of a futon in the upstairs hallway, there is now a day bed. For the price, the condo is a wonderful fit for 6-8 people. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms spacious and well-appointed. Because this is an end unit, you can enjoy views on three sides. The downstairs patio furnishings have comfortable cushions to relax on, while the two upper balconies still need cushions over teak furnishings, which can splinter. The outdoor grill is excellent quality. The kitchen is well-appointed with most of what you'll need. There is an array of spices, although the supply has dwindled. We added basil and oregano, but the parsley was out. There is olive oil for your use, and you'll find a starter pack of coffee on arrival. You won't have to buy DW soap or laundry detergent, either. See the Paradise in Hawaii (PiH) list before you shop. There are ample beach towels in the utility room, plus lightweight plastic ponchos for visiting towns like Waimea or Hilo, where it can get misty, or south to the volcanoes, where it can suddenly rain. The local pool is lovely and the overhead shade is well-done. In the spacious two-car garage, there are beach equipment and bikes; mostly high quality, and a wonderful asset for families. The Islands community does not have a dedicated fitness facility. Mauna Lani Resort charges $25/day. Perhaps we should have inquired about access to the Kulalani Fitness Center. A local property manager patrols the area, so be sure all understand the "rules," or he will eagerly report violations to PiH. One of our youngest hung a towel from the balcony, which is a no-no. One disappointment was that the surrey-bike advertised for use is parked in the Kulalani complex, which required a long walk or drive. We did have a few issues during our stay, but they were handled promptly by PiH management. Overall, highly recommend. I ka nui!
