A perfect little spot for a budget family trip. So much nature and wildlife. A quiet area but convenient to all the stores or restaurants you could need.

Great spot on the inlet to the river. We had so much fun! We got tons of use out of the kayaks! The house is set up great and we enjoyed cooking breakfast and eating outside overlooking the water. What a great experience- we will stay here again if we get the opportunity.

Place & location was great for us. Manatees & turtles were the highlight 💜. However the three man canoe is not… Loved the place … would have loved it more if we could have actually used the canoe. 2 adults with canoe experience could not ( waaaay to little … ) Still would highly recommend the stay … just dont count on the canoe ( same size as the plastic kayaks )

Very clean.

Keypad on door lock, hardly works. Numbers don’t function correctly. Tried code 3 times and got locked out. Finally got it to work after 1 person held the knob and 1 entered code. It needs to be replaced. Photographer was magnificent at disguising how poor this rental is. The living /dining furniture look like frat house furniture. Fabric on Victoria couch was torn and has exposed padding. Brown “leather couch” cushions were discolored, worn out and sagging as well matching chair and foot rest. Kitchen table missing veneer strips and table top is rippled in many places. Many holes in screen around deck porch. Screen is ripped at door handle about the length of the handle. Deck railing and floor is rotting and in need of repairs. Missing pieces on both. Single bathroom looked dirty because of mismatched paint job. The faucet almost came off in my hand while trying to see it work. The commode is like a child’s commode , not only small but very low to the ground and probably from the 70’s. The floor in the house is sagging as my suitcase rolled from the living room down the hallway as soon as I let go of the handle. The barrel chair’s cushion is also ripped and showing padding. One blind in the pirate ship room, had 2 sections cut out of it. Maybe 3 positive things to say- kitchen was clean, pirate ship bedroom was clean. Master bedroom was clean. We turned around and left. We did NOT stay. Maybe owner can make improvements with the money I paid for 2 nights. If you are in college or just graduated, then you will not mind staying here. Adults , making their own way , with children——run,run,run. Just sad we did not get to enjoy the river and “free kayaks, canoe “ provided by owner. Did not contact owner when we checked in because It was too late for refund and I would not have been nice to talk with. It could have been steam cleaned, but due to the other neglected things, it felt real dirty, griming and dingy.

We absolutely loved it. Comfortable clean space and such a quick paddle to the main river. Our favorite part was the dock just steps from the home. We saw manatees, turtles and fish. It was wonderful having access to the kayaks and paddle boards, we really appreciated that! We made wonderful memories here! Would go back in a heartbeat!

First time kayaking and visiting Weeki Wachee. The location is great! If you go straight down the canal and turn left and paddle upstream you get more of the undeveloped view with plenty of places to stop and rest or watch people jump off trees into the river (momma didn’t like that) and then when you’re done float downstream back! We went right one day and it was just a bunch of homes, boats, traffic jams and Roger’s Park so we definitely recommend going left. I really appreciated the extras here like the bikes, coolers, towels, life jackets etc! It was really hot this weekend and the air conditioning worked perfectly! Also the water pressure is great! And the king size bed was very comfortable. My 11 year old loved the boat bed. Would definitely stay here again!

Really enjoyed this little getaway. It had a place to dock the boat, which was nice. There was ice cold air and amazing water pressure.

We stayed for two weeks, it was great each morning we had coffee on the dock while watching the birds, turtles and manatees swim by. After breakfast on the upper deck we were off to paddle on one of the numerous kayaks provided or a bike ride through the neighborhood. We were very happy with the Accommodations and plan to come back next year and rent both the upper and lower and bring the whole family.

As soon as we leave, we're looking at dates to rebook! I love this property! The owners really went all out with authentic decorations upstairs and downstairs. The horn in the bedroom makes the perfect “dinner bell” to beckon our pirates back from the waters home to eat! We shopped and cooked in every night and had everything we needed. We are three families that book both upstairs and downstairs with a total of 9 people and are all comfortable. They have all the water equipment you need, without the hassles of renting!! I personally love that it's on a quiet part of the canal and not the main river. You can retreat back to the house and enjoy peace and quiet after a busy day on the main river. We also had manatees munching at the dock every morning. This location is right between hospital hole and rogers park (paddle downstream), and upstream is the jumping tree, then week watchee preserve park, with a nice relaxing float back downstream to the house afterwards. It's only about a 5 minute drive from buccaneer bay and the state park if you want to see the mermaid show.

I needed to see the manatees for the first time and boom, they’re at the dock in the early am, they’re down the way from us, they’re all over, it was just beautiful! The home was pleasant for us all, thank you so much for letting us stay!

We lived staying at the pirate quarters and hope to do it again. The kajaks were great and the river couldn't have been more fun and beautiful. Our unit was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.

Had most excellent experience being literally 3 miles from Weeki Wachee Spring source. Perfect quiet little dead end street so no traffic and nice neighbors. Very centrally located to everything. We did the following while there over 4 night stay Swimming with manatees Weeki Wachee Mermaid Show (a must see!!) Snowcat Ridge Ariel zip line park Go karts Grilled nightly & camp fire s’mores in the backyard Kayaking directly from the house backyard Fishing at Marys Fish Camp The area is so laid back and easy going. Very little traffic on President’s Day weekend all around town. Planning to come back in summer.

Comfortable home with easy access to main river. Lots of Manatee!

Paddling the kayak to hospital hole to see the manatees was incredible. Just a short mile down river. Nice to relax on deck afterwards. Quiet neighborhood

We enjoyed our stay very much. The weather did not cooperate but we still had a great time. We really enjoyed the firepit on a cold Florida evening. The unit was stocked with everything you could need.

We stayed here for an extended weekend to enjoy kayaking. The weather did not fully cooperate, but being from Iowa 58 degrees still felt warm and we made it out on the water and saw some manatees. Truly a beautiful location.

This place especially the property upstairs is amazing! It’s so cute in its pirate theme and they have it decorated to every detail. It’s just a short paddle to the crystal clear waters of the Weeki Wachee . We would come back here in a heartbeat!

Home was a great location on Weeki and was very easy to paddle out to main river and enjoy a day on the water. Vessels were available, but we brought our own to use since they are what we are used to. Screened in top porch is wonderful as it was raining one of the fays of our trip, but we were still able to enjoy the beautiful view. The only down side is that the floor is really freaky and it was a task to try and make sure to not disturb the guests below us in the mermaids cove. Overall it was a fantastic stay and will definitely come back!

My family of 5 stayed at this wonderful upstairs apartment for a week and it definitely felt like a home away from home. Having access to the river with included kayaks and being so close to many fun attractions was perfect. We will definitely be looking to stay here again when we come to visit family!

Excellent value with free kayaks. Manatees a few paddles from the house. Mullets jumping out of water, birds, , turtles from the balcony. Cute pirate themed home. Love the screened in balcony with the open balcony. Will stay there again if and when we visit Crystal clear Weeki Wachee river again.

We received so many compliments on how neat the clear canoe was! On the clear parts of the river you could see straight through the canoe to the bottom. Our young children really enjoyed being able to see right through it and into the water. It made the whole experience on the river a lot more enjoyelable. The check in and out process was very quick and when renting the clear canoe, there was great communication. The rental was clean and included everything we needed for our stay. 5 star stay

Captains Quarters is part of a two story house which is rented out separately. We rented both spaces between 3 families and loved it so much we already booked a return trip! The pirate theme upstairs is awesome! They have definitely have done some shopping and found some amazing unique pieces to decorate the house with. everything is very clean. The outdoor space is nice with a screened in porch upstairs and a boat dock. The best part of the house is all the water toys that are included. It really is just a short kayak to some of the most beautiful rivers you have ever seen. We kayaked and snorkeled and we’re able to see a wide variety of fish and manatees. There was a mom and baby manatee that traveled right by the house nighty. The house definitely has an old Florida feel that you can’t beat for the price and location. I’m so thankful for then owners sharing their little slice of paradise with us!
