House was outstanding. Couple major drawbacks however. Driveway is straight downhill. Used emergency brake to assist regular brakes. Going up the driveway was equally treacherous. Steps to boat dock (265 of them), need to be completely replaced. Railings as well. Son fell through one of them. Once again, the house is wonderful. Boat dock was great. Location on lake was great. Michelle the owner was great and let us check in early.

We had a great time at the house! The accommodations were perfect for our family of 10. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit!

Great house in remote location with lots of privacy! Lots of room and amenities. Only downside is the number of steps to get down to the dock and lake.

The house worked perfect for 15 people. We had 3 families with kids ranging 9-17. The house with equipped with everything we needed for the week. The dock was nice to have as we brought jet skis and a boat. The steps were a little rough going back up, but all in all was a perfect vacay. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had, and was very responsive to handle any situations we did have during our stay.

We love the house, plenty of room for a large family or group. Driveway was a little difficult but manageable.

Beautiful property.

The house is beautiful. The AC was not working correctly when we arrived. We were promised someone to come check but did not happen. Problem corrected itself. Also be aware that water source is sulfur which is not communicated

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Big blue lake house. There was more than enough room for all 14 of us. The home has everything you need. We enjoyed the game room and got to introduce some ld fashion games in the game room to our grown children. The pool table was a big hit. The Christmas tree was perfect as we celebrate Christmas & New Year's there. The pictures do no justice to this beautiful home. We loved everything about this lake house home. We will be back in the summer to enjoy the lake.

We have stayed at this property for the past three years and it gets better and better every year. Our family is able to relax and enjoy our time together without having to sorry about the little details of staying away from home; so many things are accounted for and prepared before we ever arrive. Truly a special place for our children as well. We know that "the bakehouse" will stick in their memories for years :)

We loved everything about this property and had an amazing weekend!

We had a party of about 15 ppl all age ranges from 1-71 and we all had an amazing time. So much so that we stayed an extra day. The views from the house of the lake are breathe taking and the house itself is so much more than even the pictures show. There was so much for everyone to do. We did not even leave the house. Except to go to the store which was about 30-40 min drive. Can’t wait to come back in the summer!!

We had a fabulous stay at this lake house. Michelle is such an amazing host, and she’s put so much thought into this beautiful house. This house had everything we needed throughout our stay. Comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, large outdoor jacuzzi, gorgeous view of the lake, etc. are just a few to mention. We cannot wait to be back!

The property is pretty secluded with just one neighbor across the tree line. It was a quiet and relaxing weekend we intended it to be. The property manager was quick to reply when we had one minor question/issue, and had it addressed quickly. We had a small group, but this place has plenty of rooms/beds/space to keep larger parties comfortable. There are quite a few steps down to the dock, and while we didn’t have a boat we got in some exercise each day walking down to the dock and back up. Overall we had a great stay.

I highly recommend the big lake house, we really enjoyed our stay there. It was so relaxing and everything you could ask for.. The host was amazing. I can't wait to hopefully vacation here again in the near future.. My kids absolutely loved it & didn't wanna leave lol.. The steps to the dock was pretty intense, but the view is absolutely worth it.. The driveway isn't as bad as some say, but again I'm from kentucky & we are use to it here.. All in all we loved our stay from young to old.. Thank you, the Botkins family 😁

As we are packing up I wanted to leave a review while the stay was still fresh in my mind. The home is BEAUTIFUL. When we first arrived my oldest niece's jaw hit the floor and she said "this is like a rich peoples house!" The girls lived running up and down the stairs. My grandfather spent every morning out on the back patiowith a cup of coffee watching the sun rise and hit the lake. This was the first half of his dream vacation and I am so glad that it was made perfect with this home. Whenever I reached out to the property owners they were super fast to respond. The house was super clean. The steps down to the lake were a bit to steep especially with two in our party being on Oxygen. But the hot tub more than made up for not being able to swim in the lake. Oh also be warned the road leading to the house is very winding. Do not take it fast. In all we would definitely stay here again.

The house sits on a nice part of the lake and worked great for our group of 10 people. Plenty of space. The stairs down to the dock can be hard to climb for some individuals. Nice property.

This home is beautiful and accommodated our large family vacation perfectly we even had an extra bedroom and 4 beds not used. We had 7 adults and 7 kids under 10! Plenty of extra bath and beach towels,TP, boards game for kids, poker set, grill, fire pit for s’mores, great wifi,tons of life jackets, good hide & seek spots, 2 kayaks and a paddle board! Steep driveway as assumed, obviously too many steep steps to the dock which is not pictured had we seen a pic we might have stayed else where considering we had grandparents in the group but we managed…eventually. Very close to Jimmy’s place and the party cove (jumping bridge, tree rope and sandy area to swim) great location! Overall another great family vacation on Norris! Thanks Michelle-

If I could give Michelle & her home a 10 star rating I would do it in a heart beat! She was so kind and answered all of our questions ahead of time to help us prepare for our trip. The home itself was immaculate, hosted our four families perfectly with beds to spare, stocked with literally every single thing we needed (including beach towels which was a pleasant surprise!), and stunning views of the lake we couldn’t have asked for more! We had three boats with us which fit perfectly at the dock. The electric was out at the dock but Michelle and her property manager had that fixed within 24 hours, excellent communication all around! Boat trailer parking was a breeze up in the cul-de-sac, the driveway is definitely steep but manageable, and man oh man are there a lot of steps down to the dock as I’m sure everyone mentions, but everything is do-able if you take your time (and cheer each other on as our group did). Thank you Michelle, we had the BEST week and look forward to another trip to Norris Lake in the future!

Great house with plenty of room. However, the steps down to the lake are a killer.

Great home for three couples and extended family. Very clean and nicely decorated. Three indoor gathering areas for TV / gaming. Two refrigerators. Well equipped kitchen. A few minute boat ride to Jimmy’s / Norris Landing Marina. Lots of coves to float in nearby. Plan to make or buy your own ice as the refrigerators aren’t able to keep up with large groups. Be advised there are 260 stairs to the covered dock. Even so, we would definitely stay at the Big Blue Lakehouse again!!!

Over all great vacation house! Dont let the hills and curves intimidate you, just remember to use your low gear! I drove my 24ft bus and made it fine to the parking at the top of the driveway. Smaller vehicles can make it down the very steep driveway which you'll get use to by the end of your stay. By the end of the week the walk up and down the steps to the water will get a little easier. Great dock with kayaks and floats. Nice hot tub. Don't forget to bring extra T.P. and paper plates incase the dishwasher doesn't work. Very spacious. I would definitely like to return again.

The house in the mountain was very peaceful and beautiful the water was perfect! We had a great week in a spacious home. Owners communication was great. However pinball and arcade games were not working. As other reviews stated home is very secluded and 45 minutes away from everything by car. The best decision we made was Getting all of our groceries on the way. Driveway is very steep and the stairs to the water are intense.

The owner and property manager were both responsive and kind. There was a LOT of space and amenities that made our first week of Summer a memorable one!

The house was amazing with great views and with my family size the house was just perfect! Would definitely love to make this a annual vacation spot!

Where do I begin? We wanted a house to ourselves in the mountains..we scored! Affordable, I was blown away at the beautiful home. Super super clean!! Stocked with everything u can think of (no joke). We left aloe in the fridge for Tennessee sun burns! The property is majestic. The views amazing. Peace & quiet 100%. The drive-its insane, its mountain roads, up & down. Nicely paved roads however. But prepare this is way up in the mountains. The driveway is a downslope, huge downslope. Like u can smell the brake dust when u get to the bottom. Driveway does level out. We read reviews on the drive and driveway, felt we where prepared (hemi v8 truck)...but wow, we had a few moments of kids terrified faces. Lol The house-clean, stocked, roomy. (Nice gas fireplace, but unfortunately didn't work for us as we where informed after we arrived that it wasn't functioning) Beautiful decks, chairs, outdoor grill & fireplace (we left some wood too) 248 stairs (my kids counted) to get to the lake, going down is okay, but stay awhile when u go down. We kayaked, paddle boarded and even swam in 55° April water. Going back up is pretty grueling. Honestly it's a work out. Mountain living is no easy task. Everything is on an incline. Hot tub-very nice (should come with instructions since we seemed to struggle to understand how to operate) but we made do, and it honestly was extremely relaxing. The house is about 30 minutes from anything. And thats because it's 30 minutes to get out of the mountains. Lol It did rain, but the huge covered porch is awesome!! All in all id recommend this house to anyone looking for a mountain getaway. A peaceful stay, in a great home!!

Plenty of space to stretch out and relax. Everyone had a great time exploring the lake for new fishing spots by day and grilling out and night fishing off the dock after dark. House was well appointed and super clean. Nice spread of bedrooms between 3 floors, and the view from the great room is wonderful. Highly recommended!

Tazewell is tucked away in the woods of the Tennessee mountains. It is the VERY LAST HOME on its road. It is very peaceful, quiet & serene. You do have one neighboring home. They can see you, & you can see them from the back porch-BUT the houses are not 10 feet apart. There is a good distance between the houses & what seems to be a pathway between them. Note that during our stay, the people staying in that home were very polite & respectful of our privacy. The view of the lake is STUNNING, especially with the tall windows in the living room. The home is very spacious, has plenty of seating for families or big gatherings of friends to get together, & plenty of beds. My friends & I, the 4 of us, had more than ample room during our stay. There were multiple bunk beds in some of the bedrooms & if not bunk beds, then a small twin/full bed with a queen bed. The master is on the main floor & did not have a second bed in it. The bedroom with the walk-in shower is located in the basement. It does have a second, full/twin sized bed in it. The basement is where the fun is at. That is where the television is located; there is a pool table, an arcade & pinball machine, & the hot tub!! The hot tub has speakers, but they don't work very well. There is also a fridge in the basement, so there isn't a need to keep going up the stairs to grab drinks. Outside, there is a grill. We tried using the grill to cook us some steaks, but it wouldn't get up to temp. We checked the propane tank, the switches on the grill, everything, but it just would not get hot enough to cook the steaks. That said, there are pots & pans, dishware & silverware in the home. OH! Located on the fridge is a discount card to a grocery store, Food City, in the little town of Tazewell. Worry not if you didn't bring food. It took me a little under 30 minutes to drive down the mountain to the grocery store. Not bad for being up in the mountains. My friends & I would definitely go back during spring or summer so we can go down to the dock & swim in the lake (we booked during mid-February). Also, as stated in the description, the driveway is steep & turns to a leveled driveway. I was able to go down & come back up, but at the turn, at one point, not all of my tires were on the ground. I drive a car with a V6 engine. But my other friends who came in a 4 cylinder didn't want to risk it. Their car's engine really worked itself on the mountainous road getting TO the house. So use your own discretion. :)

The Big Blue House on the Lake was PERFECT for our large family. We all spread out and never wanted to leave once we got there. The house was SO spacious and the beds and baths AMAZING. It was CLEAN and had everything we needed. We walked in the door, after the daunting drive up the mountain, unloaded and promptly got in vacation mode. We were all needing rest and relaxation and we GOT IT!!! Property managers quickly responded to everything we needed and our stay was the best we have ever had. THANKS!!!! Carol for the Ramers

Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake house! We had all the amenities you could possibly need. Home was clean and had lots of space to spread out. We really appreciated the two master suites and the views were incredible. We did have an issue initially with the hot water having an odor, but the owner returned our call quickly. We have stayed at this house two years in a row and it is quickly becoming a staple of our year. Our school aged kids have lasting memories of swimming and kayaking on the lake, playing games in the basement, and having big meals around the dining table. It has redefined the term "vacation" for us!

The house is gorgeous and very well stocked! There are a ton of towels, blankets, and sheets; lots of kitchen supplies, not a lot of condiments though; and toys for the kids. The kayaks were awesome! I had never done it before but I LOVED it! The stairs to the dock are definitely a workout but worth it. My kids were sad to leave and have asked when we can come back. We would definitely stay here again!
