The Palms is absolutely one of the nicest, most relaxing, and beautiful beach properties. The condo we stayed in was perfect for our family of 5. Fully stocked with anything you would need and beautifully decorated. The owner was fantastic to work with and all the staff here at The Palms are wonderful. We loved the restaurants nearby and highly recommend booking a sunset cruise with Manta Ray while you are here. Perfect week here in Costa Rica!

We had a great time at Carlos' villa. It has all the comforts of home and is loving taken care of by the owner Carlos and The Palms staff. What I really loved was the fact that even though we were there over one of the busiest weeks of the year, we never felt we were smashed into a crowded resort. We had no problems finding lounge chairs. At other resorts, we would get up early and have to stake out a spot. That was not necessary here. There was enough room to spread out and play our multiple beach and pool games. We could even play frisbee without feeling we would hit or run into someone. We took advantage of filling out the pre arrival form. It was great to have drinks and food there upon our arrival. The woman who does the shopping for you was our favorite among the staff. Having boogie boards and paddle boards for free use was a bonus. The waves were a blast! We enjoyed the beautiful beach and amazing pool so much that nobody wanted to leave and go outside of the resort. I regret a little that we didn't do one more excursion...but we felt so relaxed and at home at The Palms that is was hard to leave. If you like to play tennis there is actually a decent tennis court at a resort down the beach. For a small fee you can hit a few balls in the early morning or early evening shade. Thanks for letting us stay at your place Carlos! The kids enjoyed your chocolate. They had so much fun taste testing the treats you left for us. Also, thanks for being so helpful and patient answering my millions of questions. Stay here, you will love it!!!

Staying at The Palms has been our best family vacation yet. The property is a perfect balance of casual and relaxed with 5 star amenities. The staff are all fantastic. The on-site food is great. The villas are beautiful and 30 seconds from the beach. Also, the rental dealings with Carlos were great. We will return and highly recommend Casa Chocolate at The Palms!

We would highly recommend Casa Chocolate Villa #22 at the Palms. The villa is beautifully decorated and very spacious. The staff at the Palms are extremely friendly and very accommodating. The property felt very safe and was maticulously maintained. The beach is just steps away and gorgeous. The Palms is at the southern end of Playa Flamingo Beach which is about a mile long and very quiet. It’s great for walking, running, or playing in the waves. There are a handful of restaurants within walking distance, which is nice if you just want to stay near the villa and relax. We definitely hope to go back!

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Carlo's villa #22 at the Palms in Playa Flamingo. The villa and surrounding property are absolutely beautiful. The villa is perfectly maintained and has every amenity we could imagine. It was VERY well appointed. The resort is small and the beach and pool area are not crowded. Fresh towels and good chaise lounge availability made days by the pool and ocean lovely. This is the perfect spot if you want a quiet vacation with no crowds. Note, the resort only serves lunch. Be sure and stock up on groceries before arrival.

The Palms #22 was a beautiful condo with a warm & friendly staff - such a wonderful vacation destination!

The condo is absolutely beautiful with all the amenities of a 5 star resort - this is a 5 star condo. Extremely comfortable, right on the beautiful Flamingo Beach. We came during the "off-season" which means The Palms was virtually empty. Pros are you have the beach and pools to yourself! Very quiet so if you are looking for an active nightlife, you will have to create it on your own. Cons are the Palms restaurant is closed and well as the nearby Coco Loco restaurant - until November. We were able to eat dinner there one night before it shut down for the season. We knew it would be the slow season which was perfect for us because our goal was complete rest and relaxation! We got it! We pre-ordered groceries to be delivered to the condo - that worked out great! I love to cook so the kitchen was stocked when we arrived with the groceries I ordered. Carlos has all of the top of the line small and large appliances available which made cooking with ease! The bed is very comfortable. The room had black out curtains as well as the living room. Sitting outside on the porch was nice as well as walking the beach every morning and evening. The "resort" offered paddle-boats, single person kayaks, boogie boards, life jackets all for our use! Fresh towels were delivered each morning on the patio chairs. The staff is polite and available for any questions you may have but unobtrusive. Janet is the local masseuse set up near the edge of the property. She also provides pedicures and manicures for a fee. Very nice! The work out facility is on the second level at the end of the resort which overlooks the beautiful beach - makes working out very enjoyable. There is daily housekeeping as well - a perk for sure as we typically book via VRBO and that is not offered. Taking a taxi into Flamingo will cost you approx. $20 round trip, a trip to Taramindo for shopping will cost you approx. $60 round trip. Carlos provided us with excellent information prior to our arrival and we would highly recommend his property, Villa #22. Carlos, thanks so much for your chocolates as well! Danta Chocolates were excellent - we loved the sampler box!

The Palms will not disappoint! The grounds were beautiful and the staff were helpful and friendly. The pictures you see are the real deal. The area was very secure and I felt safe the whole time I was there. The beach is very quiet and private. The Casa Chocolate was awesome. The villa is beautifully decorated and just an overall great place to stay. Carlos was a gracious host and we very much enjoyed the chocolate goodie bag. Carlos was very helpful when we had questions prior to our vacation and connected us to the staff at The Palms to arrange things like outings and a food service to stock our refrigerator prior to our arrival. The Palms was recommended to us by a friend. We originally thought about staying at an all inclusive resort and we are so glad we did not!! You will miss out on so much of beautiful Costa Rica and the local culture if you are stuck on a big resort. We traveled to Costa Rica with our two teenage boys and I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable beach vacations we have taken. I have told so many people about our 5 star experience at The Palms and Costa Rica in general. If you stay at The Palms be sure to eat at Coco Loco-walking distance up the beach from The Palms! We ate there a couple of times and everything on the menu was great and if you are there at the right time you will get to enjoy the most beautiful sunset you have ever seen. This is definitely a place our whole family would like to visit again and if you are considering Costa Rica I cannot think of a better place to stay other than the Casa Chocolate at The Palms! Villa #22 is perfect! It was beautifully decorated with luxurious and comfortable furnishings. The staff warmly welcomed us with fresh drinks, a tour, and explanations of what to expect at The Palms (housekeeping, meal services, help with tours, equipment available, massages, workout room, etc.). There were fresh flowers all over the villa when we arrived too...that was such a nice touch. The gardens are manicured perfectly and are full of flowers and butterflies and hummingbirds. We could hear howling monkeys from trees nearby (loved that!). The sunsets are spectacular. The pools are wonderful with the view of the ocean and the just right refreshing temperature. The stunning beach is clean and literally steps away from Villa #22. The pools and beach were never crowded (and comfortable beach lounges or tables with umbrellas were always available). They provided four large beach towels every morning on our lanai and then there were more always available by the pool. We ordered food from The Palms and it was outstanding. We felt very safe in The Palms with security guards at the gates and staff always present. Working with Carlos was super easy and he was more than eager to help us when we had a question. He takes very good care of this place and it shows! There wasn't a thing that showed wear and tear...nothing. It was in pristine condition. Carlos provided us with an assortment of chocolates which our family really loved! And the refrigerator was stocked with some water, Coke products, and beer to get us started. On the counter were other items for us such as cereal and coffee. Playa Flamingo is a great area. We found many enjoyable restaurants. And we found many excursions that were not too far from the area. We stayed our first half of this vacation in La Fortuna (Nayara) and enjoyed those rainforest type adventures around the Arenal volcano. But we were ready for this amazing beach location for the latter half of our Costa Rica family vacation! We had four people, and the villa was very roomy (two adults, two teen boys). Our boys loved that that there were three full bathrooms because they each claimed one as their own. I highly recommend this place and if we return to Costa Rica, we will absolutely be back in Villa #22! We miss it very much! By the way, July is supposedly rainy season, but we only encountered rain once for a couple hours while in La Fortuna and it was drizzling lightly the morning we flew home.

We took our daughter and two of her friends (all age 11) and stayed for 6 nights at Casa Chocolate and everything was as expected - gorgeous and wonderful!! The facilities were wonderful from the pool to the girls getting corn rows in their hair to having a local chef come and cook. The master bed was very comfortable and the kids loved the loft room. Having direct beach access along with boogie boards was an added bonus! We would recommend Casa Chocolate to anyone wanting to enjoy luxury! The chocolate was also a hit with the kids!!! Carlos was wonderful to deal with!!

My husband and 2 kids: 9 and 12 years absolutely loved the place. It is meticulously decorated and there were fresh flowers everywhere when we arrived with welcome drinks delivered to our condo. The theater system with netflix entertained the kids while we hung out on the patio at sunset and had cocktails and enjoyed the beautiful view! The Palms is the only resort directly ON Playa Flamingo. The infinity pool is a very short walk from the condo and the beach is just a few feet further...it couldn't get any better! We all enjoyed boogie boarding in the ocean and having snacks by the pool. Alexandra was very helpful and suggested we hire a tour guide to ride with us in our car to the volcano (we didn't want to go on a tour bus). Chris, our 22 year old tour guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable about Costa Rica and also had a degree in ornithology and tourism (and excellent English). If you want a personal tour guide, I strongly recommend asking for him. Chris also suggested we stop at an animal rescue center which was the highlight of our day trip (we are animal lovers). The animals were in their natural habitat and seemed in good health and spirits. If our schedule had permitted and the condo had been available, we would have stayed another week. Carlos was so responsive and we look forward to coming back to Costa Rica and staying at Casa Chocolate again! Thank you!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at Casa Chocolate at The Palms and we have to say this was the best place to stay! If you are coming to the Flamingo area, this is where you need to be! Each and every staff member we met was so accommodating and friendly and the Palms offers the amenities of a 5 star resort (pool bar, massages, concierge, etc.), but with the feel of a quaint boutique hotel. You are basically steps from your own private beach! Carlos was wonderful to work with and not only do we feel he has one of the best villas at The Palms, but many of the staff agreed too. We definitely plan to return in the future!

we have stayed at alot of condos in many incredible places such as wailea hawaii etc. The actual unit was the nices, best decorated and most highly appointed we have ever stated. it is very high tech with the electronics etc. same remote we have at home!! the kitchen is not just basic condo supplies but fully stocked.... there was food and drink waiting for us at no extra cost. there was some alcohol to get us started. we were there in low season and most days we were the only ones on the beach and at the pool. the staff were excellent. Carlos was very helpful and prompt with correspondence. Looking forward to coming again.......and we had almost no rain in october!!

Our family had an amazing holiday in this terrific home. Carlos was so easy and wonderful to work with and the staff at the Palms were attentive and wonderful! we will be back!!
