Cute, cozy cottage with beautiful grounds conveniently located near downtown Encinitas. The cottage is well appointed with everything you need. Dave was a pleasure to work with and everything was stress free. We will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our stay here. It's an older Encinitas home that has been updated to make it more comfortable and to enjoy the view. Very quiet location above small canyon, with a Catholic Church behind you. We did notice lots of traffic on Christmas Eve, since the drive shares the road with the Church, but that was short lived. The two bedrooms were very comfortable and quiet. Bring some eye masks if you are a late sleeper, because there are no blackout curtains in the master bedroom. The kitchen was small but adequate for cooking for the 3 of us. The house sits on a nice piece of property with a lawn, some fruit trees, and a firepit where you can all sit around and make s'mores. The front room was a great place to relax with a view of the canyon and the sunset.

We took a family girls weekend to the beach and stayed at Sweet Alice. It’s super cute and we all felt that the owner took pride and care in helping their guest feel comfortable. Sweet little touches everywhere like they really thought about what their guest would enjoy. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is lovely and as depicted in the description and pictures. But: 1. The driveway entrance to the property is totally torn up with huge chunks of concrete that we worried we’re going to damage our car every time we drove in or out. This was a hazard. 2. We had a massive ant infestation that was dealt with by the property exterminator but we had to live with aunts everywhere in the kitchen for 3 days. Once the exterminator came the problem was resolved but until then all food had to be kept in the refrigerator. 3. Nothing tells you that the property shares roads with a church and its very busy school. If you try to leave or come home between pick up hours you cannot get near Sweet Alice Lane. You also run into bike and car traffic from the Middle School and preschool across the street! We know and love the area… but these things were definitely concerns. And since I came in recovering froze an unexpected broken hip, these issues added complications! Under different circumstances we would have used the grounds more…. Loved the birds! Please fix the driveway and tell folks about the school hours! Carole Levine

We needed a place to stay for a sports tournament in the area and this place was perfect. The GPS took me to the wrong address, but it wasn't difficult to figure out where to go. The driveway had some damage, but we just avoided it and it was fine. The house itself was full of thoughtful touches and very well maintained. The host was responsive and accommodating. Location was perfect with groceries, restaurants and activities nearby. Best feature is the location of the house. It's really hidden away which is great for me and my family. Quiet neighborhood and peaceful.

Would definitely stay again. Large private property. Everything we needed. Very comfortable king bed and super quiet which we loved.

We rent this home every summer and always enjoy the homes privacy, location, and amenities. Our kiddos love the large grass area and the outdoor fire pit for tasting marshmallows. Can’t wait to come back next year.

We needed a place to stay for a wedding weekend. This cute place suited us just fine. Our kids really enjoyed the large yard and we appreciated the privacy that the property gave us.

Overall, we had a great stay! The house had everything we needed (toys, books, games, pack n play, booster/high chair seat, beach towels, etc.). My girls loved running around the yard and throwing the frisbee and kicking a ball around. There were some appliance issues, but Dave was very responsive and had repair guys out to fix them ASAP. We spent most of our time at Legoland, so didn’t affect our stay too much. We’ll definitely return!

The house was perfect. The entrance is terrible. The concrete is busted and the gate hard to push open and very rough entering and exiting. The yard was fantastic. The fire pit!!! Get rid of the rusted out thing and replace it! It was stated to make sure and put the screen over the fire…….no screen….rusted! Broken chairs. Make it nice to sit out. We willl consider staying again.

Great house for family trip. Nothing fancy but had everything we needed. Feels very private with a great yard and view. Perfect home base for San Diego adventures and a 5 minute drive to the beach.

Very clean- had everything we needed! Had a little difficulty finding the property- with the street signs- otherwise all good! Close to shopping! Very peaceful and quiet area!! Hope to return!

This property was as described. Bed was comfortable, clean, plenty of cooking supplies and nice outside areas.

Perfect location to go to the beach and restaurants. We went to San Diego quite a bit and it was a good location for that. Love moonlight beach. The big yard was a nice place to relax and hangout. Could use more towels. We had thought we would be able to check in a little early, but for some reason that didn't work out. Overall we had a great stay. We would definitely stay again.

My family and I stayed at Sweet Alice during our time in Encinitas and we loved it. The interior and exterior are wonderful and it was the perfect location for everything we wanted to accomplish in the San Diego area. The kids also loved that it was less than 20 minutes to Legoland! We would definitely stay here again!

Cute little house lots of toys to play. Fire pit was awesome close to beach and restaurants! Everything there provided for you in the house! Very very comfortable! Peaceful and relaxing place!

Great location, private, great for kids and outdoor grilling. We really Like Sweet Alice. Feels like home away from home each time.

Our family had an outstanding time enjoying the Sweet Alice property . I say property because there is a great lawn for games, fire pit for cool nighttime gatherings, cute patio to have a conversation and dinners. Oh yea there is a home to. Just the correct size for us and is so bright and cheerful. Lots of Widows bring the outside in.! All in All this was a shear delight VRBO. Dave was also wonderful to deal with in setting up our stay.
