Comfortable and convenient beach property--perfect for a family and friends beach vacation!

Our stay at Expectations met was enjoyable and relaxing. Plenty of space to have family meals and play games. Beds were comfortable and the property mgmt company very responsive. S Location near walking path to beach was convenient.

The location of the house was good… nice short easy walk to beach. The house was a little dated for me, clean on the surface but could use a little bit of a deeper clean and some basic household items replaced. We did love the layout of the house, and the pool was fantastic. Great having a bedroom on the 1st floor.

We had a wonderful experience and vacation.

It was good

The house was good, living area on the top floor. The outside needs some upkeep. It rained all week and water got inside multiple times, but nothing unmanageable. Beaches were nice, short walk to the beach.

This property had everything that was listed and was an easy walk to the beach. Grass was not mowed in the volleyball area and we quickly contacted maintenance and got that resolved. House could use a good power washing as there are many bugs and the pool could be cleaned during the week as with 12 people there is no way to keep it spotless. Also could use higher capacity hot water heater for showering.

Very nice home. Nicely stocked with kitchen items. Beds very comfortable. Home is good repair. Excellent pool.

Although the grass was not cut the first week we were there. Also the pool got Very dirty in due to the trees around it only chlorine was added but it needed to be vacuumed more frequently. But over all this home was great thank you for a wonderful vacation.

House was very clean and as advertised. Plenty of room for extended family and or friends to stay too, large rooms. Really enjoyed the house. Two houses down from the path to the public beach access. Enjoy!!

The house was nice. The two king beds and the queen were memory foam mattresses and very comfortable!! The sheets were packaged on each bed with packaged towels which was very nice. The pool is a great size it would just be nice if they left a vacuum or had someone clean it during the week. We have a pool so I am picky about cleaning it.The walk to the beach is basically three blocks. Too long for my parents so I had to drive them and pick them up. There is parking at the next beach access but it’s far and my husband and I walked so we used barracuda access. We went to the beach twice and decided to go to the 4x4 beach instead the rest of the week. Location is good with stores close by. Lots of pots and pans for cooking as I cooked 3 meals a day for 6 days. Toaster oven would have been nice but just used the oven. Overall happy with the property. It wasn’t that clean but I cleaned when I got there since tables were sticky. Some trash left in pool area and grill not clean but again we were happy overall. Next year we will get a place closer to the beach. Thanks for sharing your home with us!!

The property is in a good location but was not clean. We spent our entire first-day cleaning so we could feel comfortable. Especially during a pandemic, this was not acceptable.

On a quiet street perfect for bike riding, 1 house away from beach access, great accommodations. My only complaint is the one room is supposed to have a queen bed, and it felt more like a full. My husband and I were pretty squished in it. The pool is large and great to have for swimming after the beach. Overall we had a great time!

My family, my parents, and close family friends were all so happy with our stay. We were all a little worried about the weather-Hurricane Isaias was looming. However, some wind and a little rain and then the day was beautiful! The pool was definitely everyone’s favorite and my son, husband and dad loved playing pool. We only had an issue with the washing machine-the spin cycle would not spin and clothes came out drenched. Maintenance came out, but a part needed to be ordered so hopefully it is back to working. All in all, everyone loved the home and would definitely stay again!

We had a lot of fun at this house. We had 10 adults and 2 children and never felt like we ran out of room. The pool was a lifesaver because the beach/sand was so hot so we spent 2 days just hanging out at the house and at the pool. Everything was clean when we got there. We had one mishap with the toilet and management sent someone shortly out to the property to fix it. It was really nice to be able to rent equipment from the VayK company. We used the beach bikes daily and really enjoyed having the opportunity to have them. Would definitely recommend staying there to others. It would be nicer to be closer to the beach but the 5 minute walk wasn't bad. The only hassle was having to use a car to drop everything off. Overall a great experience!

What a perfect break from quarantines and face masks. People were considerate keeping good distances between family groups. The pool was amazing since we're used to lots of pool time in the summer. The house had lots of quiet spots and great big open areas for together time. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Had so much fun until we had to be evacuated. Great place.

We had 3 adults and 4 kids (8yrs old thru 16) and a dog. The house was very nice and even though it was pet friendly it did not have any indication that pets were there on a regular basis...no smell or pet hair. All the bedrooms were nice sized and the lower level bedroom was actually one of the best, which is unusual. Pool was large and clean and was a great change in pace from the beach. Hot tub also was in good shape and was hot and relaxing. The upper level was spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and had both a regular coffee maker and Keurig. It has a built-in charcoal grill, which didn't sound great to me, but it is one of the best grills I have ever used (after I cleaned all the left over coals and ashes). It is a very solid grill and there were even a few bags of charcoal left from previous renters. There are plenty of beach chairs and beach toys for kids. The pool table is nice. It is three houses from the beach access, but also three streets in from the beach so you do have a short walk to get to the beach. It was fine except we had rented a 2 person Kayak which was just too big and heavy to bring to the beach everyday. We should have known better but including that in my review just in case someone else is considering the same gear rental. the neighborhood itself is very nice and quiet and the beach is not crowded at all. We had a very nice week at the beach at this house.

Our family spent a wonderful week at this unit. The house was spacious, well-furnished and created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere to spend s week of fun in the sun! My only concern about the property was the long walk to the beach. The listings advertise 800 feet to the beach, but the walk seemed longer and included a few sets of stairs over the dunes to access the beach. With two small children in the group the trip to the beach was a bit more than anticipated. Overall, a great place for a family gathering!

This was a fine house and it definitely was large enough to accommodate our party (one couple, 6 teenagers). The pool is amazing and the largest pool we have ever seen in OBX! It was sparkling clean the day we arrived as well. The house was very clean and there were plenty of dishes/cookware in the kitchen! Really, the only not so great parts: there is absolutely zero view of the water as the house is backed by lots of tall trees...but...it is located only 1 house away from the foot path to the beach so that was cool. Also, upon checking in we learned that the washing machine was broken and unfortunately could not be fixed during our stay. I understand that mechanical things happen, but it really was awful not having a washer for the whole week as we pack with the expectation that we will have a washer. Really though, not the end of the world and we totally enjoyed our stay! Probably wouldn't stay again in this property again, but only because we prefer to see a peek of that beautiful ocean:)

Loved the house and the floor plan. Loved the open space on the top floor. It was nice having the kitchen, dining, and family room open. It made for great family time. The 4 bedrooms on the second floor were awesome and it was very quiet with little noise from the 1st or 3rd floors. We did make use of the pool table on the first floor and of course the pool. It was great having the outdoor shower so we could rinse off after the beach. The location was perfect with only 2 houses down from the beach access pathway and just a short walk to the beach. We felt that we were in a quiet area with little traffic but just a 2 mile drive to the nearest grocery store, restaurants, wings, gas station and so much more. We rented bikes and enjoyed the bike paths on the main road and a short flat and enjoyable ride to the shopping area.

We loved the upstairs area...huge, open and great for gatherings of a large group. All of the rooms were as advertised, and everything was set up perfectly upon arrival. I did have a few issues with payments (was charged several extra times), but the leasing company was very friendly.

House was equipted with everything needed for our family beach trip which included 3 small grandsons, 5, 3 & 2 yrs old. We cooked most of our meals for a week long stay in the well stocked kitchen or the charcoal grill. We took full advantage of the private pool and hot tub every day of our vacation. House was located within walking diatance to Whalehead Beach access or a short golf cart ride. Easy ride to the nearby grocery stores or shops. We loved how close this house is to the 4wd beach where we could see the wild horses. The property management was very easy to deal with and super fast repsonse to a maintenance issue. Anyone I spoke to at the management company was friendly and concerned we were enjoying our stay. I would highly receommend this rental to any large family group wanting a private get away place with easy access to beaches and many activities.

The owners show a real concern to stock the home for a perfect vacation. I strongly suggest this home for a perfect vacation in Corolla.

She was extremely helpful and called up as soon as the property was available for us to stay. The house inside looked good. It was well cleaned. Myself and the guests were very disappointed when we arrived to a shattered door on the second floor. After calling the wonderful, helpful woman in the office, she had someone come and look at it and by the end of the week someone did come to fix it. It was a shame that we could not utilize that particular door in fear it would break and become more of a hazard, especially with it being a convenient access door to the grill and the pool when coming from the second or third floor. We also were let down due to our excitement for the lights that ran around the fencing of the pool, lighting it up wonderfully in the pictures we saw, but the lights did not work, at all. Someone did place tiki torches around the fence but they did not give off the light and feel that the rope lights did. Having a pool, hot tub, and a pool table was great but when it's not the quality that your led to believe, it becomes pretty disappointing. We hyped it up pretty well to others staying in Corolla, but it was not at all like we thought..

You can tell the owners really care about making it great for families to enjoy considering how well it is stocked with games, appliances, etc. There was even a certificate for free bagels at the local coffee shop. Where things seem to be lacking comes down to property management. Things were very dirty and certain things were not working upon arrival. Let me into a little more detail. 1) There was a spider infestation in the basement bedroom and in the pool area. Once we called, they powerwashed the exterior, but we continued to have an influx of spiders in the room. 2) A poor job was done getting the home clean for our arrival. Trash on the floor, blood stains on one mattress cover, moldy shower curtains, hair all over the bathroom, sand on the floors... I could go on. I left a message with the rental company as this was very upsetting. They called me back the next day to say they could have someone come clean. To me this was too little too late as we were not going to spend the evening in a filthy home and already had cleaned much of the problematic areas. I asked for a discount on our stay to make up for the time spent, and they said that was not in their policy. Even a simple apology would have made me feel better, but the representative from Shoreline OBX was not very nice. When I said I was unhappy with the whole situation and would be leaving them a poor review online (here you go!), she said I was "threatening" her. Since when is leaving a bad review threatening someone? I just want other potential renters to be aware. 3) Those pretty lights you see in the pool area in the pictures - sadly they do not work.

It was very convenient to just about everything. We enjoyed all of the decks and the pool was stocked with quite a few pool toys/floats. I would have to add that I thought the 800' to beach should be modified to reflect beach access because it is definitely further than that to the beach. It's a nice walk but it was a bit farther than the 800' that we were expecting. The lighthouse and park are a nice bike ride and walk and we enjoyed visiting the quaint shops in that area too. Would recommend replacing mattresses in master bedroom and guest room across from master. They are starting to get uncomfortable.
