A little misleading on the website when it says it sleeps 8, it definitely only has enough beds for 6 people and then they consider the couch and floor space room for 2 more people. Which I'm fine with. But I thought there was like a pull out bed or something so that was a little misleading. Also the dining room lights didn't work so we couldn't eat in the dining room at night because it was too dark and there was some miscommunication around fixing those. Overall great stay though and such a cute little cottage!

This is more appropriately called a Beach Shack. The locks on the doors are "still" sketchy - we had to get a screwdriver and tighten the downstairs outside door handle. I think the shack is priced way to high for what it is - the view is spectacular like i said; the home not so much.

Eight people can fit if you don't mind doubling up, with two on an air mattress, or one on the couch. We did have a problem with a car not starting after parked on a downward slope in the driveway. The gas tank was not full enough for the fuel pump to get gas to the engine. After filling up the tank the car started. There was a red container with a gallon of gas in the garage, so I could tell this has happened to others. I wish the property management company would have warned us about this potential problem. Other than that, everything was great.

We were bummed at first that there were not many vacation rentals in San Luis Obispo so we could not be down by all of the things/restaurants we missed. So, we "settled" for staying in Avila and could not be happier. The location was perfect and the home slept us easily. We were able to drive/uber in to town for a pretty good price and then wake up to drink coffee on the beach. Overall, we were glad this place worked out and I would definitely stay here again!

It was unusually hot this visit and opened the doors for air and my daughter was stung by a meat bee in the dining area. She is allergic, foot swelled up and a lot of pain. Carpet has several large stains and needs a steam cleaning. With that said, it is always clean, well furnished and with that view, it trumps everything else.

The description offered online was accurate, but really the place is a little roomier than the pics online would suggest. Everything was clean and functional and the kitchen was well stocked. This place was originally built in 1930, although it has been added onto it still retains the cozy charm of a beach cottage. There are no high end finishes like granite counter tops or stainless steel appliances in the kitchen here, and the square footage was less than what we have previously had in Avila.... But the views of the ocean and beach REALLY make this vacation rental stand out from many others in town. We will definitely book another week on San Antonio next summer. The only recommendation is that the management replace the very rickety $20 BBQ with something more stable and functional before the current one topples over and burns down the front porch.

I grew up in Sacramento, and our parents joined us at this amazing beach house with our daughter, son in law and and our new grandson. The view was amazing and for my folks in their 80's when we were all visiting and out and about for graduation it offered them the most amazing views! The layout has one bedroom and full bath downstairs (access through the garage or exterior stairs from the dining room) and 2 bedrooms and full bath on the main level. The kitchen was well equipped, comfy beds, clean house, endless views, quiet neighborhood. We fell asleep each night listening to sounds of the waves :). A few steps took you to the beach and town. 10 minutes to SLO for a fantastic farmers market & BBQ dinner, and 50 minutes to Solvang for Paula's Pancakes. We are already planning our next trip and would love to stay here again. One comment for the owners, the BBQ is a bit rickety, but usable. All in all, the best family vacation ever! Highly recommend this home!
