Lovely cottage with a good secure garden for our large dog and driveway parking for our vehicle. Property was clean, tidy and well equipped. Only two slight niggles: 1. the hob took an age to warm up so any cooking needed planning ahead; 2. the shower was like having to wash under a dripping tap; but we only to do it for a week so no real problem. A good base for our first trip to the Highlands which we thoroughly enjoyed.

This was a clean, well equipped and comfortable holiday home. We had a great week and found the owner to be really helpful ! Excellent location in a lovely village with loads to do nearby. The amazing hot weather we had was good too !

Just back from a 4 day stay at The Heathers. House was very comfortable, has a very secure back garden and is ideally situated for great walks for dogs. Would definitely consider returning.

Love both The Heathers & Boat of Garten. It's a very comfortable cottage, that's fully equipped for a self catering holiday. There's a small shop in Boat for bits & pieces, but there are supermarkets in Avimore, about 10 mins away by car. The garden is fully enclosed, which is great for dogs (and children!). You can walk from the door; with forest at the end of the cul-de-sac, or you are minutes to the River Spey, where you can walk along the banks. We walked Abernethy Forest, Rothimurchus Estate, Glenmore Forest, around Grantown & Carrbridge, and all were within 30 mins by car. We also managed to catch the steam train (dog friendly), and find a few distilleries (not dog friendly, but we had a non whiskey drinker who was happy to entertain the dog during visits!). We will definitely be back to the area, and hopefully our base at The Heathers.

Good central location, the enclosed garden and immediate access to woodland walks makes The Heathers a great option for holiday makers with dogs. Happy to recommend.

Great location in Boat of Garten, fantastic for local wildlife (male Capercaillie seen in Deshar Woods, Slavonian Grebes on nearby mere) and for access to Abernethy, Nethy Bridge etc, as well as Aviemore and the wider Caringorms NP. Modern but snug and well-equipped.

Well equipped, spacious cottage. Shop, pub and forest all within one minute walk. Excellent location for exploring the Cairngorms.
