The cottage was clean, comfortable and eventually warm and cosy. Nice welcome pack (thank you) but as fellow owners, it would be better if the cottage had been warm on our arrival. Lovely cottage, very comfortable and well equipped, and spacious too. Peaceful location. Great pub nearby which is a bonus. Only reason I marked Location and Amenities down slightly is that there is no shop nearby (not a problem if you plan in advance), and the local beach is inaccessible (but there is a fantastic beach a few miles away at St Mary's Bay). Treacle cottage is lovely, fantastic views towards the castle with everything we needed. Our hostess was great leaving us a gorgeous welcome basket, she was there if we needed her but not intrusive. The pub across the road has tasty food and an outside seating area. There is supermarket about a mile away. There are loads of great walks around the area, Hythe centre and beach not to far away.
