We have stayed here for 2 years now and have already booked for next summer. Gorgeous house and views. Kathleen is wonderful to work with and always very responsive to anything we need. We love this place and can’t wait to be back!

Just returned from a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The property manager is so easy to work with and truly makes you feel at home. The house itself if stunning and the views amazing. Had multiple families with kids and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. The heated pool was a huge hit as well as being able to walk down to the beach. There was no need to leave the property!!!

We all had a wonderful week at the Sandpiper. Everyone loved being by the pool and on the beach. It’s a great home for family cooking and eating together.

Our family of 13 from Chicago (ages 1-70) were looking for our first post-COVID vacation. This place was perfect and exceeded our expectations. This portion of beach was so much better than ones we have visited in Florida and elsewhere. It sits on an extended shallow portion of beach perfect for kids and is clean with relatively few other people around. The rooms and common spaces are all well appointed and comfortable. All rooms have private baths because the place was previously a B&B. The kitchen was spectacular. Our family cooks a lot and it allowed for 6+ people separately prepping food with plenty of space. Kathleen was attentive to all of our questions and requests, which helped greatly with the planning. We could not believe such a place existed so close to Chicago and we hope to return again next year.

We had such a nice few days at this property. Can’t beat the pool or the views. Tons of space and so relaxing. Kathleen was wonderful to work with!

Our extended family had the pleasure of staying at the Sandpiper for a week this past August. The booking process was easy, and communication with the letting agent fantastic. The property looked beautiful in the online pictures but it impressed us even more in person. Very large, bright, comfortable rooms throughout the house and the finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms were all at a very high standard. The kitchen was stocked with more amenities than my own home! There are a fair number of steps down to the Lake, but they are shallow, easy steps with a well thought-out bench halfway down for a rest if needed (for my 85 year old father!). We noticed that Sandpiper was one of the few homes along this stretch of Lake Michigan that still had plenty of sandy beach - high lake levels have swallowed the others further down the shoreline. We felt very lucky indeed to have spent a week of glorious summer in this spot and would rent again without question. Thank you Sandpiper!

My extended family of 17 stayed at Sandpiper for the week. We are ages 13-82. The house is perfection, cooked in a lot in the very large well-equipped gourmet kitchen. The rooms are huge and comfortable. We had great beach space this year, for which we feel fortunate. Kathleen, the property manager is available, communicates well, and is responsive. You will not be disappointed.

We had the most wonderful time at this incredibly beautiful property both inside and out. Kathleen was readily available. Would definitely rent again. Loved!

Quite simply, no better home to enjoy on Lake Michigan with 18 people spanning 3 generations. This has become one of our favorite places to spend a week every year. The home and he hospitality are just the best you could ask for. Thanks for letting us share you great property!

Wow, Sandpiper is a gorgeous house on a lovely beach in great area of Michigan. Everything about the house was head and shoulders above other homes I’ve rented: all beautifully decorated with everything you need including comfortable beds, luxury linens, lots of extra touches. Beach is all sand no rocks. Many excellent restaurants and shops nearby. It’s less than 2 hours from Chicago but feels like another world. Highly recommended

Our family stayed at the Sandpiper Inn at the end of July 2017 to celebrate my parents' 80th birthdays. We had a fantastic time, so much so, that my Dad wants to rent it again in 2 years. It is very clean, accommodates, 18 people very well, and is in a great location. As most of the area beaches in the area are struggling to keep their beaches with Lake Michigan being very high, this is a bit of an issue at Sandpiper as well. I would suggest that this photo with the beach stretching out is a few years old. Getting to the beach can be challenging because of the erosion, especially for the elderly. We were able to enjoy full beach days, though, and if you walk a little to the left or right, the beach is wider. Also, there is a great sunning area on the bluff which can accommodate everyone. The kitchen is amazing, fully stocked with all serving and eating needs. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was definitely our central gathering place. We had a few meals catered by Classic Catering, they were very accommodating and provided good food. Our entire family would highly recommend Sandpiper Inn for your vacation needs! Have fun!

This was our third year in a row staying here. It is always one of the best weeks of our year. Will be back next year for sure. Just an amazing getaway.

Three generations of my family have just returned from our second visit to this beautiful property. The principal thing we would change is how quickly the time passes while we are there! Most rooms in this enormous, gracious home offer broad views of Lake Michigan. The descent (or, more importantly, the ascent) to the beach is the easiest one I've found after numerous trips to Lake Michigan. One of the features we most love is the screen porch that stretches the entire back of the house, allowing visitors to sleep unaffected by bugs and listening to the gentle sounds of the waves. Every bedroom has its own bath, so there's no compromising on shower schedules (and no lack of hot water!). The new kitchen is a marvel, with a huge island, two refrigerators, and 2 dishwashers (and lake views). The house manager is a dream of hospitality and organization, and the 2 visits (for the first floor) from the housekeeping staff are yet another treat. Please, just don't take our week!

I'm a little reticent to write a glowing review because I want to keep this place a secret but eventually word will get out what an absolutely perfect place this home is for a Lake Michigan vacation. Lewis and Elizabeth are simply the perfect hosts and have created the most comfortable and welcoming vacation home imaginable. They have thought of every detail to make the stay stress-free and the home is simply exceptional. We're so glad to met them and had the opportunity to stay in their wonderful vacation home. We had 18 people and never once felt crowded. The kitchen has everything needed to cook and serve meals for even 18 adults. The views of the lake, the beach access, the amenities on site such as beach chairs, floating things, bikes, ping pong...the list goes on and on...amazing. We will absolutely return and cant wait. Already plotting our next getaway.

This home and the location are absolutely beautiful. It exceeded our already high expectations.

This home is so perfect for a family gathering! All rooms lovely! The kitchen was fully equipped for a large group and what a treat to gather in the morning, with our coffee, looking at the view of the lake! When it was rainy one day, we visited Dablon winery, with a beautiful tasting room, only one year old. Also, walked at Galien Park, 5 minute drive. Enjoyed, swimming in the lake, playing games in the backyard, basketball in the front yard, and riding around the neighborhood with the provided bicycles. Dinner at Timothy's was a great night, as well! And we took many photos for the yearly Christmas photo of the family! Kathleen is so wonderful to organize your trip to this home, and thank you, from the whole family! From the prompt replies at the beginning, to meeting us at the house, to being available anytime, and then connecting for our goodbye. There is no question that we will return, the only question is how soon!

This recent stay was our 3rd or 4th at Sandpiper. It is simply put "a great place for a family vacation". We had 22 people and 5 families and there is enough room for everyone. The individual suites are nice. Being right on the beach is fantastic for the kids(we had 9) and we cooked most meals in a well supplied kitchen that is updated. All in all, we would recommend staying here to any family for a wonderful experience. Kathleen the property mgr is terrific to work with. Steve R.

Outstanding, exceptional, fantastic! This was the ideal spot for a family celebration with every conceivable amenity available. There was space for being together, and places to chill out. The inn was gorgeous, plenty of activities in the area when we could be pulled away from the beach. Kathleen was superb and we are appreciative of all she did. Hope to return soon!
