This place was exactly as listed and all the reviews were on point. The additional bathroom and bedroom downstairs is nice for some. We were going to use it as a bedroom but as noted it was only accessible from the outside. So we felt a bit distant from the rest of the family and decided just to use it as a spare bathroom when needed. We decided to all stay in the house which was definitely comfy. There was enough room for the children to share the rooms with the twin beds and the adults took the other two rooms. The laundry room was nice and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We had one hiccup which was immediately addressed by the owner so that’s why we didn’t give it a five star rating. But we also know somethings happen and we were happy with Wendy’s quick response. But as I stated it was exactly as listed so no real surprises. We had a great time.

The cottage is well-furnished and beautifully decorated! Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, my family loved this ocean-front “home away from home”.

We had such a fun time at this adorable house conveniently located on the ocean. Nice solid rockers on the porch overlooking the Atlantic, kitchen with lots of tools (even a garlic press!)—we love cooking, so this was such a nice touch for us, and comfy beds. Wendy and Darlene were both awesome and helped us iron out minor details, like the ROKU TV and ceiling fans. A great time was had by all who stayed. We hope to book it again in the future.

Third time over 3 years here and continues to be a very cozy stay. Walk out the back deck and onto the sands to the beach. Will be back. Wendy is terrific and always so responsive.

This is our second time at this property and we had another terrific week. Consistent with our last stay and another already planned again this year. Wendy is terrific and very responsive. Easy access to a great beach and great space for gathering outside also on a large deck. All fun for a family beach vacation.

Our house was wonderful. Perfect location and so many amenities. The back.porch rockers were the best. The owner was so easy to work with to have our vacation. Ready to plan for next year.

Really smooth, uneventful stay—in short, it was perfect. Owner communicated everything perfectly and we found everything just as described. Older home with some odd light switch locations but not bad all in all... nice porch and, of course, the ocean right out the back door. Would stay here again! :)

We enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home! The location was ideal for a week spent enjoying family time. One small issue we experienced is the door handle on the bedroom door next to the kitchen would lock inadvertantly when closed. Otherwise a great time had by all!

There is nothing comparable to the character of this oceanfront home on Atlantic Beach. Everything our family of ten needed for a needed vacation. Wendy Rose is an excellent hostess.

Great location- lovely outside porch and beach access. Overall cottage could use some updates-esp the bathrooms and kitchen appliances.

This property is perfect for a week at the beach. It is located close to the restaurants at the beach and is on a quiet street. The kitchen is very well equipped and made cooking easy. The only drawback was that there is only one full bath for the main two floors. (There is a half bath on the main level and a full bath in the lower level accessed by the outside.) It is a charming home where we spent most of our time rocking on the beach side porch. We would love to return again

This Atlantic Beach cottage is charming: white picket fence and great back deck overlooking the dunes. We had 5 adults and two children here, which was just about the right amount of space. Any more, and I’d think it’d be a bit tight as there are only two showers, and the kitchen is not spacious enough to prep for a party. Overall house is pretty clean. Things to note if you’re staying here (or for property owner to change): No toilet paper, except what was left on rolls from previous renters. No paper towels No laundry soap or dryer sheets No trash bags No beach chairs No beach towels To me, these are small touches that make guests feel more at home, as most people are coming from out of town. (We flew From California and can’t bring beach chairs and towels!) If you’re looking for a basic, no frills place with a great view l, nice locations, and comfy beds, I’d recommend this place-but for the price, I’d wished the place was more well prepared for guests and more well cared for.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Perfect for the 5 of us (we did not use the down stairs apartment; there was plenty extra space). Easy beach access, nice breakfast view from deck. Close to Ft Macon, aquarium, Beaufort. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful and extremely cleaned ocean front property with very nice wrap around porch with latched gates that allow for your dog to safely and independently venture to a nice size fenced area located in front of dune. Property owner Wendy Rose is very responsive and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and the close proximity to Beaufort and Harker's Island.

I have mixed reviews. This was located in a very good location, and for the most part we had a nice stay. This is the first VRBO where bed linens and towels were not included in the price. You have to pay extra for those. However, we misunderstood, as we were told extra for bed linens, so we brought our own, expecting that there would still be towels. When we arrived, there were no bath or kitchen towels. We also noticed the next morning that there were ants on all of the kitchen counters. We are not sure where they came from, as we did not have any food out on the counters. We just had to keep killing them, as there were quite a few, and never ending. We notified the owner. It was the next day that we saw an exterminator out around the perimeter of the home. He asked if we wanted him to spray in the kitchen, but since we only had one more night, we didn't want to have pesticides around our food. Although the home has a nice layout, be aware that although it advertises 2 full baths and one 1/2, the 1 full bath is in a separate unit that is located outside on the bottom level. That is the only way to get to that bathroom. We were not aware of that at the time either. All five of us shared one bathroom, and on the 2nd evening, the glass shower stall door came half off the track into the tub. We were unable to use it safely, as the other sliding door was blocked by a screw so you could not slide it to get in. We reported that as well to the owner. It was then that she told us about the other shower in the other unit. The porch and deck were very nice, and there were nice rocking chairs out on the porch, but I did not see any cushions for them, like shown in the picture. I would have given this home five stars, if we had arrived to towels and no ants. Also, if the shower would have been properly checked and fixed prior to our arrival, and knowledge of the exterior entrance to the other bathroom. Of course, that would have been a little inconvenient to use during the time of year we went, because it was cold and windy. I surely would not want to have gone outside and down the steps to another unit to take a shower in the morning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Wish we could have stayed longer, thank you for the hospitality!

A classic Atlantic Beach home. Very comfortable. Will plan to stay again. Wish the upper floors had two full baths or a inside door down stairs connecting the other full bath and bedroom to the rest of the house.

Thanks Wendy for allowing us to stay in your family's beach house! If you are looking for a front beach house with old time personality, this is it! Great family room with large dining table to play cards and family games. You can't beat the wrap around porch where we gathered to sip drinks rocking to the ocean views and the salty sea breeze. Kitchen is stocked with just about everything you need to make stay at home meals. The location is super close to anything you want to do. We found the Ft. Macon State Park down the road fun for a challenging trail to walk. We'll look for another excuse to come back to Atlantic Beach and find this little gem of a home away from home.

Although the yard people were cutting the grass in the area between the house and the sand dune , they did not pick up to many dog poops that were left buy former renters.

We came down for a week and absolutely loved this cottage! It was clean and cozy and Wendy is a very responsive owner. We felt at home and the views were breathtaking! Loved, loved sitting on the porch rocking chairs drinking our coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. We will definitely rent here again when we come back to Atlantic Beach. ~ Karen from Illinois
