Owner very responsive even though the place was closed when I arrived. You will need to call the owner before you can get in the place.

Amazing stay because I was actually on my own, everything worked fine, right in the center of Catemaco.

The host is very nice and was very communicative before I arrived. Upon my arrival I was upgraded to a private room, because mould had developed in the dorm. I was happy to accept the upgrade. The host also invited me to an event she was organising at her home/other hotel the following evening, which i did attend and it was really nice.

I was the only person staying at the hostel and there was no staff in attendance throughout the duration of my stay. It felt more like an AirBnB. I booked a hostel because i knew i wanted to ask about trips in the area and I also needed help to book a taxi to San Andres Tuxtla in order to get a night bus on my last day. I did message the host for help via booking.com, but she was busy and didn't respond for hours. I ended up asking the hotel across the street for help instead. The place wasn't very clean and the fridge had been turned off, which i understand if there is nobody really staying at the hostel...but there was an item of food in the fridge, which was going off and didn't smell great, so this made me not want to prepare any food in the kitchen. There was also no bin in the property, apart from the one for the used toilet paper and this wasn't empty when i arrived.

Everything was ok. There is simple kitchen to use. Comfy bed. And also there is a lot stores near by. Communication with owner was great!
