Great location. The kids loved the pool and the hot tub. The AC was acting up the first night, but it was fixed quickly!

Kids were lying on floor in bedroom and when they got up they were covered in dog hair (we didn't bring a dog). It wasn't a big deal but my brother in law is allergic

This property could use a few minor updates, but it’s overall very nice. It was a little snug with 12 people, and while the pool was a fine size for the kids, note that it is on the smaller side. The proximity to the beach is spectacular. It was a lovely stay. Highly recommended for beach lovers!

We spent a week here during April 2022. The house was really nice and was in a great location. The neighborhood is quiet and a very easy walk to the beach.

The house was located in a nice neighborhood. Short walk to beach access. It was the perfect set up for us.

We decided last minute to make a trip to the Outer Banks for the week between Christmas and New Years. Winter is ‘off season’ for OBX but anything we needed maintenance quickly responded (nothing major at all - we needed to know how to turn the water on to add water to the hot tub and how to change the thermostat). The kitchen was well stocked with a variety of pots and pans as well as baking dishes. This was a special trip - one of the family members was recently diagnosed with incurable cancer and this will be our last Christmas with them - the staff were so sweet and helpful as we preparing to come - it was a ‘Week of Joy’ for our family!

Close to the beach and nice neighborhood. House could use some updates like new carpet and beds.

Great place for younger people. Difficult for those who can't walk far or climb lots of stairs. The house was spacious and clean. You can hear the waves on the beach. You just cant see them.

Great property love the area

For the price we paid, we felt the home could have been in better shape. Bathrooms were small and a little dirty, as well as a wide gap between the floor and vanity/sink area that clearly needs to be fixed, the management company was quick to come and help fix the TV, however, the Dryer was not working and they said it would take some time to fix, but never got fixed. Location is great with easy access to the beach, however, I would not be excited to say in the home itself again.

We stayed here June 12th thru the 19th 2021. The house has a great location and short walk to the beach. We sent them pictures of some stuff that was broken and was damaged right away and they were quick to offer to send someone out to fix it but we said no need just wanted them to not think it was us. Management was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed out stay with our dogs and loved the beach.

My family and I had a great time at Bernie's Bungalow!!! The layout of the home was great!! The private balconies off the bedrooms were a plus and the pool and hot tub were so nice to enjoy in the evenings!! The location of the home is just a very short walk to the beach...it was just perfect!!!

We had no bed linens or towels upon arrival. When communicating with the company, they said all were there and to look in the closets. Which we had already done. Once convinced that we did not have the items, the sheets and towels were delivered. The folks who delivered were so nice. Also, I asked manager if gas grill was there. I was told yes. There isn’t one. Also, there is no tiki bar or dart board. Nevertheless, the property itself was great. We would stay again.

We were looking forward to a winter beach getaway. This house provided a lot of opportunity to achieve that. The wifi was really reliable and there were plenty of book and game options!! We discovered the fireplace was a decorative element and couldn't be used, unfortunately. It was a key driver in our home selection, so we were disappointed, but as luck would have it, the temperature was pretty moderate and the group was very apologetic. The wrap around deck was ideal every day and night for people, dog, and star watching. The direct access from the carport was fantastic for grocery hauling. The walking paths were great for dog walks and finding wildlife. The heater was very strong and the vibration (pictures on the walls and attic access panel) in the upper master took some time for this sensitive sleeper to get used to. There were ample dishes, glasses, cookware, and pantry storage. The cooking stone was great for non-frozen food, but some folks might not be familiar with this limitation. The people in this neighborhood take pride in their homes and property and it was easy to feel like home.

Loved the proximity to beach. Would definitely rent here again. Minor issues ( vacuums aren’t good, some rusted patio furniture, dirty grill, and not the cleanest) but we were able to make it work. House has everything you need. Close to shopping, activities and restaurants. Loved the pool and hot tub. Outside shower was amazing. Plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure.

Outdoor furniture was rusted and broken. Shower was small. House needs to be updated with new flooring and get rid of the carpet. Pool is really small.

Someone brought a full and two twins and said they would bring more the next day. That never occurred. Kitchen counters were not clean and silverware drawers had multiple utensils with food stuck on them. The garbage can was filthy with a foul smelling liquid in the bottom.The grill was greasy and food stuck on coils. When we called back we were told they could send someone to clean. We declined because we paid for a beach house to be clean upon arrival.We had to evacuate on Tuesday and I sent an email about all these issues when I got back home and no response has been received. We have visited OBX for about 20 years would not feel comfortable renting from Your company again.

It’s conveniently located just 250 steps (via FitBit) away from the beach. It’s less than a half mile away from shops. The only issues we had all week was Saturday night. The “Rent A Cop”’ security firm hired by the community gave us and 45 other renters “citations“ for having trailers in the driveway. Apparently, there is a new bylaw within the Ocean Sands community which prohibits trailers being stored on the property. We checked with our realtor, as well as other realtors and no one seem aware of the rules. As such, we kept it parked out of the way and had no further issues the remainder of the week. We would definitely stay here again.

Reviewer Comments: We were only able to stay three nights because it had rained heavily and flooded the pool area, the entry into the house, and the parking area. So, we liked that it was a 3 minute walk to the beach, the pool, hot tub, and hammock... the layout was great for our group of 7 adults and 3 children. We were not able to play the horseshoes or cornhole due to the flooding. The house is the lowest in that area so when it flooded it would contaminate the pool. We rented the house through shoreline obx rentals and they were great. They came right over when I called about the flooding... they worked hard all morning to find us another place that had all of the same amenities (or better). They helped move the items well. I would rent from Shoreline obx again in the future because they saved our vacation with their quick action. Although, the property would’ve worked great for our family I probably wouldn’t stay here again because I would be concerned about flooding.

The layout of the house was very spacious and perfect for a large group. The house was very clean, furniture was comfortable, and we loved having the pool and hot tub. Hot tub needs a new cover, but other than that, no complaints. The black lining flecks off and falls into hot tub. We wound up leaving it off, which meant we kept having to add water, but it wasn't worth having to clean it out constantly. One other issue was the man from shoreline who was quite rude to us when we pulled up in the morning just to look at the house. Also, lawn was not mowed and was overgrown, but that is minor, and not the owner's fault. Overall, we loved the house enough to book it again for next year.

The house itself was ok. the pool was very small so when the kids were in it there really wasnt much room but it worked out. I liked the close proximity to all the stores. We rented the teens bikes and was a quick and safe ride to the DQ and Superwings. I wouldve liked more comfortable deck furniture but all in all we really enjoyed this vacation.

Grass was also very high like it had not been cut in weeks and someone decided to cut it at 7am on Friday morning and woke the entire house! The hot tube needs a new cover as the one provided is falling apart and clogs the filter. The location was perfect for my family. Very close to beach and walking/bike ride distance to shops and restaurants. Loved the beach!! Beautiful and the neighborhood was nice for the kids to ride their bikes. The house had everything we needed for the week. Again great location!

We were pretty much at the "max" in this house - 8 adults and 3 children under 5 years - it felt cozy on the mid level, but OK on the upper living level. The house is close to the beach access path, it has a screened in porch, hot tub, very small pool, nice, new SS appliances, new windows, new siding, and newer televisions in each room. The management company was very responsive to some minor issues we had, and the check-in and check-out procedures were easy. The location is close to shopping and restaurants.

When I asked about it, Shoreline OBX said that did not apply to me. I had to pay for those things, even though they were advertised without extra cost. It seems that the price the owner quoted did not include those things, even though they were advertised as being provided. This was not good PR!

It is located 450 ft from the beach and super easy to access. This is the 2nd time our family has stayed in this house and we look forward to staying on it again.
