Everything as listed. We loved our time here, and as the title states, the home and location were both great. We appreciated the host providing so much pool/beach/ocean equipment which made our stay much easier and more enjoyable. The home was clean, well-equipped with everything we needed, and the patio where we spent a decent portion of our time was extremely serene. Would highly recommend and definitely would stay again if we could do it all over again!

This property is in an excellent location with several oceanic tour companies just 3 minute's walk from the front door. And the house is just as beautiful as the pictures.

Our family loved staying here. The house was neat and clean and had plenty of space for all of us. We were surprised at the rocky beach behind the house, but it was a beautiful view and there were plenty of things to do. We appreciate the ability to stay here. I would mention that there were several lightbulbs that were burned out so the bottom level was dark at night. But we had everything else we needed and are grateful you were willing to share your toys too. The communication at check in was very helpful and I appreciated the heads up about the geckos so I could warn my kids not to flip out. Thanks for part of a wonderful vacation!

This house had it all! We were two families with 4 kids ranging 9-13 years, and they had so much fun. Plenty of room for all. Big couches, fantastic lanai, and all the beach gear you need for the whole gang. A well-equipped kitchen made meal prep fun, and the location was easy driving distance to all the sights and beaches. Thank you Kona Calm for a fantastic holiday retreat!

What a fabulous house and location! Our group of 8 was very comfortable and loved being so close to the water! We used all the beach toys, chairs, snorkeling equipment in the bay then came back to swim in the wonderful pool! We were in Kona for a family wedding and everyone raved that we had the best house! We hosted dinner a few times for our group with comfort. Having coffee on the lanai in the morning was wonderful! (Only cons: the cushions on a lot of the outdoor furniture are old and need replacing. The location of the spiral staircase is interesting in the kitchen. Have to watch your head!) but I would definitely rent this wonderful house again.

The property was great!!! It had everything we needed to enjoy 10 days of Ohana time. And fit our Ohana perfectly. The 5 air conditioners and ceiling fans made it comfortable in this Kona heat. The house was well stocked for everything we needed. The beach toy shed was a bonus stocked with goggles, paddle boards etc. And the pool was a refreshing addition that we enjoyed with the grandkids. We had an amazing time! The house was perfect for 8 of us (10 would have been pushing it). The paddle boards and snorkeling gear was a bonus. The only thing that was difficult was getting our 9 yr old out of the pool haha. This is a birthday she will always remember and she is already planning another trip back.

This listing is excellent for families with kids. There is a bay just across the way where you can do all sorts of water activities. It is safe and secure. There is a variety of plants and animals and the setting is beautiful and restful. Stores and restaurants are nearby. The house was spacious and warm feeling. Loved it!

Nikki and Jeff are premiere hosts! The property was just as pictured/described. This was our favorite family vacation! The setup in the house was perfect to accommodate little kids, had plenty of space for all the adults, and was real close to the bay with amazing views! The house was fully stocked with everything we needed and what made the travel easier was the pack and play and high chair the house had. Our kids are still talking about all the fun we had in the pool! We would definitely stay here again. We loved it!

Great communication with Caufields. Only complaint: Lanai chair cushions in desperate need of replacement. Cushions have no cushion even when doubled. This places the sitter too low at the table.

Absolutely loved the patio and view. The house is a bit dated, but that was expected from the pictures. House was very clean and had everything we needed.

The house is amazing. It’s very tastefully decorated with lots of room and great outdoor space. We spent most of our time by the pool or out on the lanai. The only challenge is the bathrooms. Both full baths are en suite to two of the bedrooms, which means whoever is staying in those rooms has to share the shower. The powder room is in the basement, which means the people staying in the loft have to travel two flights of stair in the night. We made it work, but it was a mild inconvenience and the house is worth it. Shopping is close by and the house comes with lots of toys. We loved our stay.

We truly loved our experience here- our family stayed here with an age range of 4- 74 years old. The pool was perfect for the kiddos, the space was excellent for everyone, the amenities were wonderful, the hosts were very communicative, and we loved the location with proximity to the bay. We sat out on the lanai every morning and evening. Walked down to the ocean for the Mantaray experience. I can’t wait to go back. The owners are very responsive. The grill was not working. They brought a new grill the next day.

This property met all our families needs from a high chair and pac an play to the pool and outdoor equipment usage. The pool was the icing on the cake. All of the bedrooms were roomy and accommodating. We picked the right home for our week vacation on the big island.

Everything about this place was awesome!!

Perfect for our family with adult children and grandchildren. The house was roomy enough for everyone to have space, yet with rooms perfect for gathering all together. The pool was wonderful for the kids to splash and play and the adults to relax on the mats. We didn't have to rent boogie boards or paddle boards as the toy shed was fully stocked! Our favorites were the FairWinds to snorkel by Captain Cook and Kua Bay for playing in the BIG waves.

Jan 2019. This was our first experience with a vacation rental home. Our multi-generational family consisting of 8 adults and 2 infants spent two weeks at Kona Calm. The location is great for getting around Kona and exploring the island. We appreciated having off street parking for 3 vehicles. The house has all the amenities you could want. We enjoyed having a dip in the pool a couple times a day, especially with the little ones. We made good use of the lanais for meals and sitting out in the evening after barbecuing. There is a good supply of beach towels, chairs, toys and boards. Jeff & Nikki were always quick to respond when we asked questions. They provided a binder full of suggestions for sight-seeing and local attractions. If there is any negative, it would be the two full bathrooms are both ensuites therefore requiring a lot of flexibility for sharing. The Big Island has provided many good memories for our family. Great location near a shopping center, fantastic beaches, as recommended in the local book put together by the owner, within an hour driving. Owner was very accommodating with the early check in and late check out. House was well kept, provided a high chair and pack and play for our year old grandson. The four bedroom house was just right for our party of 7 adults and 1 infant.

For our very active family this house and location was basically an all inclusive vacation for us. Every morning we woke up early and ran a few miles and then followed up with a SUP Paddle around the bay and back eating breakfast before 8am without ever having to start the car... The house was very spacious and open and provided everyone their space. The pool and patio areas were a huge plus for the kids after a long day of beach and hiking. Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas to go around so no need to rent that stuff... Easy access to the fair winds tours and manta experience so no need to drive home when tired which is a big plus... If we come back to the big island next year this will be the first place I look to reserve and Nikki and Jeff were easy to work with and available to answer any questions before and during the trip. Thanks again you guys for providing a great house...

Beautiful home with plenty of room. Great location with a lot of activities on the island. We had 8 people and it was perfect. Really enjoyed snorkeling off the Fair Wind boat, which is parked right on the bay and takes you out to the best spots. We even saw a few whales! Two great restaurants nearby, Rays on the Bay and Sam Choys. Enjoyed sunny weather all 10 days!

My families stay at this home was fantastic! The home is so beautiful, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect as it's close to the ocean and many beaches but also close to amenities and downtown Kailua-Kona. Jeff and Nikki were wonderful to deal with and we especially enjoyed their "local local" book! We would definitely love to come back and visit the big island of Hawaii and stay in this wonderful home!!!

This large house was great to stay in although hot in the afternoons, but with beach right out the door and the pool, it was fun for our family of 4 adults and child. 2 more adults for our last night. Big kitchen. Stay would have been great except trash was not emptied when we showed up so a week later we had overflow. No hot water on our day of checkout made laundry requirements and clean up an issue. Inadequate laundry appliances for this large house with the checkout request list. Wonderful Kona location and walk to Sheraton is handy. Groceries just up the hill.

I stayed here during the first week of September 2017. The house is located less than 15 miles from the airport and about 6 miles from beautiful downtown Kailua-Kona. The house is on a quite cue de sac street it has a private front gate, we were able to park 3 cars in the driveway. Super nice neighborhood. This house is perfect for one large family or 2 families that want their own private space. The house is multi leveled. Downstairs (Ground level) there’s a kitchenette with a huge island counter, full side refrigerator, micro wave, dining table, fuzz ball table, living room with 2 couches, full size bathroom and a large flat screen TV, there’s a large bedroom with its own full size bathroom .… the washer and dryer are also located downstairs. All rooms downstairs lead directly to the swimming pool. The downstairs bedroom has an awesome lanai sitting area. Upstairs there’s a full size living room and full kitchen with an island, large master bedroom with private bathroom, dining table and a spectacular view of Keauhou Bay from the lanai off of the living room, dining room and master bedroom. The 3rd level loft has a bedroom with 2 twin beds, perfect to the child’s. The house is literally located steps from a grass private park with palm trees, restrooms and outside showers. There’s a small sandy beach for access to Keauhou Bay…which lead to the ocean. You’re also only steps away from all of the tours and activities that are located out of Keauhou Bay i.e. Night dives with the Manta Rays (a must!), snorkeling, Hawaiian Outrigger Canoeing, Kayaking, various lunch and sunset cruises… and a course Stand Up Paddle Boarding. I strongly recommend staying here, I know our family will be returning… hopefully soon.

Beautiful property? Check. On the water? Check. Comfortable, fully equipped? Got that too. Close to downtown? Yes, but far enough away to be quiet and private as well. Would be hard to oversell. Do you want to be on the water? Like the outdoors? Want beautiful views? My family and I have been to the Big Island (skip the others - everything you need is here!) too many times to count and yet have never come across a property this comfortable, perfectly located, with everything we could want in a Big Island vacation property. We go to the Big Island every year and, going forward, wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Enjoy!
