Beautiful cottage. Secluded and comfortable. Loved the setting.

Completely enjoyed our time at Cactus Flower. Everything you see is accurate. The cottage is well-built and maintained. The heavy, tropical, hand-made woodwork adds a distinctive feel when compared to the local architecture. The drive is not far from town, but just far enough to enjoy quiet nights with the sounds of the local birds and wildlife. We like it when it's dark at night, rather than overlooking a lit up "city" below us. Cactus flower provided the ocean proximity and view (a little limited as depicted in the photos), combined with tranquillity in what felt like a very safe neighborhood. The bed is very comfortable. Woodwork and stonework in the bedroom add attractiveness, with the ceiling fan and AC for sleeping soundly. The dual fans in the living area keep the area comfortable, and heavy screened doors keep any bugs out very effectively. The shower is wonderful, connecting directly to the bathroom. All appliances worked well, including laundry, coffee maker, range and oven.The porch is a luxury. We dipped in the pool once, and never used the hot tub (but did take a look and it was tempting). The pool is small, as are most pools on St John. It is "attached" to the owners' home, but appointed for guests. After enjoying the beaches everyday and cleaning up in the shower, the pool was an afterthought. Hosts are very responsive when needed, but you are likely to barely see them if they're not. We felt that our vacation time and privacy were completely respected.

We were blessed to enjoy three idyllic weeks in this charming, bright, airy, spacious, comfortable, and clean cottage. The experience was so much more than pictures convey. Loved the dreamy bed, outdoor shower, stars and kitty visits!!!. We felt like we were in a small private resort. The pool and hot tub were surrounded by lush and lovely landscaping. We often had the pool and hot tub to ourselves. Never felt crowded, even though shared with a few other guests. Great location; far enough from Cruz Bay yet close to the Dolphin grocery store near the Westin Resort. We frequently drove to Maho Bay, as it was calm. The Windmill bar was worth a visit! Other days we enjoyed the large porch and clear pool. A note of advice: book your jeep early!!! Thank you Tina and Joe for your warm hospitality and for creating this magical oasis.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and well appointed. There wasn't anything extra that we needed. Tina and Joe were responsive to any questions that we had and we couldn't have been happier.

Better than the photos. Absolutely spectacular stay in the best location possible on the island. We loved every minute of our trip. The cottage was spectacular and Joe and Tina were amazing hosts. 10/10 experience!

We have rented many cottages in the Caribbean and this one is probably the most comfortable we have ever had. It is so much nicer than the pictures portray with beautiful custom woodwork throughout. The covered deck is amazing, as is the outdoor shower. We spent equal time in Cruz Bay and Coral Bay so the central location was perfect!Tina and Joe are there just as much as you need them and their pets are lovely.

We loved staying at The Cactus Flower. It was quite clean and we loved the porch, pool, and outdoor shower. It was well stocked with beach towels, beach chairs, and snorkeling equipment, which was quite helpful. We loved listening to all of the birds. We definitely plan to return.

The house was so nice! Every amenity you could possibly want and need. The owners are friendly enough. They answered every question i had while were there and gave us a few helpful suggestions. It was very clean. It was as easy to get to as one could want. They gave superb directions from the ferry. We only got lost once or twice, but that had nothing to do with their instructions. The island is a little confusing the first time. But no big deal. The only reason i gave it a 4 star on location accuracy is because its super close to the adjoining property. Way closer than i expected. While its ok, being there for the first time ever, being without our children celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, we thought it was a hair more removed from their actual house. That being said, it was beautiful! Very likely to return to their property when we come back if available. Unless if couse we have additional people joining. Aside from the house being closer than we originally thought, it was perfect.

Very peaceful with great views. Tidy with more amenities than we could use. Snorkeling gear was very nice to have and good beach chairs. Only needed help with the grill and Joe was there in under 5 min. "Operator error" Stars were great every night and best of all was taking a shower outside under them. Tina and Joe were very friendly and I look forward to staying again.

We stayed at Cactus Flower for 10 days in August and everything was wonderful. While we have visited St John almost every year since 1985 but this was only our third stay with Tina and Joe and it will not be our last. Their cottage has everything you could possibly want and it's located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of privacy. During our return flight we met many that had stayed in Coral Bay and were looking for something closer to Cruz Bay and the North Shore beaches for their next visit. We highly recommended Cactus Flower as a good option to all of them.

The Cactus Flower was actually nicer than the photos depict. The property is quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. We enjoyed using the pool and hanging out on the covered porch looking at the bay and watching some of the wildlife. One day Joe picked some mangoes from a tree on the property and brought them to us. Both he and Tina were excellent host. The Cactus Flower is about a 15 minute drive from Cruz bay and provided a relaxing sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Cruz bay. You will need a jeep or suv to get back and forth as the roads are winding and steep in spots. Overall we recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet and comfortable place to stay yet still be close to Cruz bay and other attractions.

Exceeded our expectations. The property was beautiful, peaceful, and had all updated amenities. Very clean which is a big deal to me. Listening to the habitat come alive in the evening was a plus. Very comfy bed and the outdoor shower was wonderful. We hung out in the pool several times and never had company. Joe and Tina really keep to themselves - if you needed them they were there but otherwise we had all the privacy we like. Will definitely go back!!!

We loved staying at Cactus Flower! It’s in a great location tucked in the hills just a few minutes away from Cruz Bay, and easy access to the North Shore beaches. The cottage is charming, peaceful and comfy—the hosts have provided everything you could need. Highly recommend!

Great cottage for a couple with access to a refreshing pool and nice hot tub for starry nights. Easy access with paved roads and a quiet neighborhood made it a relaxing stay. Quick drive to the beaches, restaurants, and groceries.

Cactus Flower Cottage exceeded every expectation we had for our vacation in St. John. The location of the cottage was perfect! Close to Cruz Bay, yet far enough to find the peace and quiet we were hoping for. Every day was pure relaxation, and the amenities were wonderful. The grounds of the property were beautiful and well kept, with lovely landscape details. I particularly enjoyed the outside shower, listening to the birds and watching all the bees harvest on the tree above the shower wall. We loved the visits from the residence dog "Pip" and the kitties. Felt like home. Joe and Tina were wonderful hosts, and made everything from checking in to leaving seamless. I feel so fortunate to have found Cactus Flower Cottage in my relentless search for a perfect place to stay on such a beautiful island. Thank you Joe and Tina, we will definitely be back to this cottage again!!

My wife and I stayed in the cactus flower cottage for our honeymoon. Tina and Joe did a wonderful job as hosts; providing directions and recommending different places to visit. I would highly recommend this villa if you are looking for a place to unwind.

Hands down the best place we’ve ever stayed at. And we have stayed at a bunch of places. The bed is super comfy. We had coffee every morning watching the sun come up and the iguanas in the trees. At night it’s breezy and cool with nothing but stars above with no light pollution (best seen from the hot tub), as well as surrounded by the sounds of the island. The Cactus Flower is well equipped with kitchenware to cook for yourselves if you please. We used their complimentary chairs and cooler for our beach trip as well (they had snorkeling gear, but we brought our own). We definitely recommend getting a car as they provide very close parking for you and the taxis can take a while to get out to you as it’s not in the center of town (this is a big plus)! Cannot wait to come again!

We could not have enjoyed our stay any more! Cactus Flower far exceeded our expectations and was simply stunning. There really aren’t enough praises for the hosts and property. We look forward to staying here again.

First vacation to St. John. We had a really great stay at this rental. Clean, spacious, quiet, awesome amenities (hot tub soaks under the bright moon were amazing). Hosts were easy to get in touch with and so nice. And Pip the resident dog was the best added Bonus. Being away for 10 days we were missing our dogs at home. Pip and I went for walks around the neighborhood too. The beach gear was awesome and saved us a ton of money (snorkels, beach chairs, fins). There is only AC in the bedroom which worked out fine. I loved the outdoor shower. This was such a lovely place to stay we had such a good time. A very relaxing break from a pretty hectic and crazy 3 years since we last traveled. So well rested and happy.

We had an amazing vacation and the Cactus Cottage was a little piece of paradise for us. Mornings on the porch with coffee and the sunrise over the bay were beautiful and the best way to start our days of exploring St. John and the most spectacular beaches. We appreciated having snorkeling gear, beach chairs and a cooler provided to use for our beach outings. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything we needed to cook a full meal and we enjoyed those meals on that fabulous porch. The Cactus Cottage far exceeded our expectations and this was the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation we've had in years! Pip the dog and the kitties were just icing on the cake. :) If we make it back to St.John, we will most definitely book the Cactus Cottage for our stay. We loved it there!

This Villa is beautiful! The grounds are so pretty and well tended. The Villa was comfortable and well appointed. Joe and Tina are gracious hosts. It was very nice to use the pool after a Long Beach day. Absolutely loved the outdoor shower. This is one of three villas on property which makes a nice option for larger groups. It still has privacy. You do need a car to get here but it is a pretty drive. The only improvements I could suggest is air conditioning in the living room and better beach chairs. The air in the bedroom was great. We definitely would stay here again!

Though a drive from the beautiful beaches of St John, Fish Bay was a pretty place to stay and served as a good base for us as we explored the island's beaches and trails. You must have your own vehicle if you want to stay here, but we recommend that anyway so that you have the freedom to explore when and where you like. The snorkeling gear in the cottage was a definite plus and we have never done as much snorkeling as we did this trip - so thank you for having those available! The outdoor shower is lovely and we had a delightful stay. Make sure you have mosquito repellant to ward off those pesky mosquitoes though!

The cottage is immaculate and absolutely beautiful. Joe and Tina were kind and cordial.

This was the first time my husband and I have gone away together just the two of us, and the week couldn’t have been more perfect! Everything in the cottage was exactly as described and even more adorable in person. The views are beautiful and you get a really nice breeze being a little higher up on the island. You definitely need a jeep to get around the island from this location, but for my husband and I that’s half the fun! My husband loved starting every day with a soak in the hot tub and we enjoyed making breakfast together in the cottage’s well equipped kitchen. Not only only did it have everything you need for cooking, there were even spices and other condiment-type things there to use. Tells, beach towels, sheets, blankets, comfy blankets, anything you could possibly want is already here at this cottage (there are binoculars for birdwatching, something I personally love to do!). Literally everything you need for a relaxing getaway is provided for you at this wonderful property! We will definitely be back, and are already planning our return trip for next year. Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts who were kind and available for any questions. Our week away was exactly what we needed to relax and reconnect! 🥰🏝

My wife and I had a wonderful 10 day visit at the cottage. It is in close proximity to restaurants, shopping, beaches and all St. John has to offer. We enjoyed the pool very much and the porch is inviting, spacious and comfortable. A highlight of our stay included visits from the owners pup, Pip. Highly recommended. Have as much fun as we did!

This was the perfect little bungalow for our honeymoon. Its a little rustic, only AC in the bedroom, but it’s a perfect reflection of the islands. The hot tub was a great stargazing spot and the snorkeling gear came in handy every single day. Easy to get in and out of town but still very quiet at night. And if your a cat person, the next door kitty will be happy to welcome you to the islands with cuddles. Can’t wait to book again the next time we head to the islands.
