What a gem of beach home. Beautifully decorated and well taken care of. Kitchen is fully stocked. Lots of family games. Our family enjoyed ping pong tournaments in the evenings. Oh the view! You’ll never forget this house. Thanks to Wendy and Marc for being wonderful hosts!!!!

Up on the Roof is a wonderful place to stay in Holden Beach. There is plenty of room inside and out. The kitchen is well stocked; the beds are comfortable and the view is amazing. I would definitely rent this home again.

Three generations of our family had a wonderful week at Up On The Roof! The house was super clean and fully outfitted in every way. The views from the main living floor of the ocean and shore were ideal. Then there was the rooftop deck which gave 360 degrees view of the whole area plus the night sky which we enjoyed numerous times. Our grandsons are 2 and 5 so the lush grassy backyard was a great place for them to run around and play when we weren't at the beach. Also provided is a full selection of beach chairs, umbrellas, toys and games that we used daily. Wendy and Marc were excellent communicators and helpful in everyway possible which made the stay all the more enjoyable. The property exceeded our expectations which were pretty high going in. We can recommend Up On The Roof without reservation!

“Up on the Roof” Is a beautiful home. It is exactly as described and even better than our expectations. It is across the street from the ocean but it feels and sounds like you’re right on the water. The owners were easy to communicate with and check in and out were seamless. My family would love to stay here again.

We absolutely loved this property! Large enough but also cozy enough! Had everything we needed and was conveniently right across from private beach access. The roof top views are amazing. I highly recommend and we will be back! I just love Holden.

This house was perfect. Loved the location. View was A+. There was nothing we needed in the kitchen that was not already there. We appreciated all the beach chairs, sand toys and the outdoor shower! We were all so exhausted from the sun that we never used the ping pong table but had it rained, we likely would have used it including all the yard games provided.

The house was in a very good location, very clean and modern. I would definitely stay here again!

I don't even know where to start! It's difficult to articulate fully how exceptional this vacation home is. Our entire rental experience essentially was perfect. We were a family group with four adults and three kids ranging from 3-16 years old. The owners are lovely. Friendly, available, and communicative. The house itself is incredible inside. As amazing as the listing photos make it look, they really don't even do it justice. It's spacious with a very well planned layout. It feels much larger than the actual square footage. It's immaculate. Tasteful, with modern furnishings and decor. The bathrooms are updated and beautiful. The house is full of light and has an airy and serene feeling. Every piece of furniture is comfortable and inviting. The beds were all firm and supportive. I'm a weirdo and bring my own sheets everywhere because I have texture issues with fabric, but the included linens were fresh and really nice. I actually would have used the sheets, which is saying a lot! The kitchen is enormous, beautiful, and super well appointed with everything you need for a trip. The beverage fridge is a great touch to free up main fridge space for food. There is so much usable outdoor space. There are multiple porches and seating areas, but the porch that includes a table and chairs off of the main living space and the roof top deck were particular favorites. The views of the ocean and the rest of the island are breathtaking. Under the house is a room full of really thoughtful items for outdoor use. Beach chairs, games, sand toys, beach canopy, etc. We got a lot of use out of the sand toys and cornhole. The outdoor shower is huge, clean, and super nice. There's even a mirror! Just as thoughtfully appointed as the rest of the property. The location cannot be beat. The clubhouse being situated directly across the street is awesome. With the layout of the parking lots on either side of the building, you essentially get all of the benefits of an ocean front view, plus access to a pool and place to rinse off sand. As nice as the outdoor shower is at the house, we barely used it because the rinse stations at the clubhouse work so well. You can walk to all of the fun commercial stuff on the island (restaurants, coffee shop, ice cream place, etc.), but are separate enough from it to not feel like you're in a commercial area. If I could give the property six stars, I would. All in all, I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Holden Beach.

We enjoyed our stay at Up On The Roof. It was a beautiful home in a great location. We loved the spacious living areas, especially the dining area which allowed our family to sit down and eat together. Easy access to the pool and beach areas were also a plus. And of course the views from the roof were amazing!

Clean, well furnished, extra special touches like beach chairs and beach canopy. Convenient location on island. Ocean is very close. Roof top deck is really fun.

This property is perfectly located in Holden Beach - great view of the ocean from the 2nd row, beach access is directly across from the property, the beach clubhouse and pool are directly across the street. The home itself is pristine with an open floor plan and the owners are great to work with.

Beautiful house in a fantastic location. The house was incredibly clean and well stocked. The owners are great and very helpful. The layout of the house works well for families with kids. There are multiple decks, an extra living space, and a great yard for the kids to play. The roof deck is amazing, and a great spot to watch the sunset.

We loved our time in this home. It was exactly as advertised. Colorful rooms, the cabinets were exceptionally stocked and the home was super clean. We will definitely book this home again. Loved the beach access and the decks too!

Our vacation was eventful to say the least. The first 24 hours were spent settling in to the perfect house for our family (grandparents, two couples and kids) with plenty of space for all including multiple outdoor spaces, a huge (rare) backyard for kids to play in safely, and even a spare den for anyone who needed a break from the crowd. We were steps away from the beach and within walking distance of the local coffee shop, restaurants, and fishing on the intercoastal. It was perfect. We spent the next day enjoying the beach, grilled burgers and hot dogs for a big family dinner, and sat down to enjoy some ice cream while we watched a typical summer thunderstorm roll in from the ocean. And then chaos hit. The house is struck by lightning, power and AC went out, and this mama was mildly panicked the place was on fire. (It wasn't!) Within minutes fire trucks showed up and we had the owners on the phone who immediately jumped into action to make sure everything was taken care of. Mark and Wendy spent the next 3 days going out of their way to make sure our vacation wasn't disrupted, getting the AC back on and ensuring the house was cleared by the electricians. Despite the craziness, it still ended up being everything we hope it would be and before we even pulled out of the driveway to head home we had decided to come back next year!

This is a lovely house right across the street from the beach and pool. The owners are great and provide everything you need for a fantastic vacation!

I have stayed at several different properties at Holden Beach over the past 25 years. This home is the best by far. Not only does it provide unobstructed views of the ocean right across the street, but you have access to a community pool that was rarely used by the other homes in Winding River. We were always able to find a lounge chair throughout the day. I couldn’t believe how clean the property was when we arrived. And the check-in process was seamless. From the mattresses to the furniture to the kitchen utensils and cookware, this property was top notch. I didn’t have any complaints at all. It was wonderful using the rooftop deck. It was also nice having beach chairs to use as well. I would recommend this property to anyone like myself who does a thorough search of properties before renting and expects only the best. This property delivers first-class accommodations.

With all the craziness going on right now, we have 4 adults in the medical field and a couple effected by the economy. This was a needed family respite and reconnecting vacation. The property was amazing. The owners were even better. Any minor issue was handled immediately. Already planning another trip. Thanks for the memories.

Couldn’t have asked for a better location, house, or view. No other house had the view like this from the roof. We enjoyed many hours just soaking in the views and decks.

We absolutely loved Up on the Roof! The rooftop was our favorite place to watch the sunset over the bridge and see the moon rise over the ocean. Wendy and Marc were super helpful and answered any questions we had before and during our stay. You are truly getting an ocean front home for the price of a second row home.

Up on the roof was great!! It is nice and clean with everything you need for a most enjoyable week!! The roof is an extra special bonus to sit and relax and enjoy each other and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets!!

Great owners and location. Kids loved playing football in the fenced back yard, views were awesome, plenty of spots in and out of the house to get away and see the view, would highly recommend this home.

We have visited Holden Beach 7 times. This is the first time we rented the SAME house as from our last visit (2017) because of the home, location, and owners. This beautiful home had everything needed for a "home away from home", located right across the street from the private/community pool (never crowded) with access to the beach, and attentive owners, Wendy and Marc (quick to respond and answer questions). Our family continues to make memories and we will be back soon "Up on the Roof"!

This was around our fourth year staying at Up on the Roof and once again we were more than pleased! Marc & Wendy take great pride in their property. Every year there are more upgrades/refreshes to the home. It truly makes our vacation wonderful! We are picky when it comes to cleanliness,and the house is by far the most clean property we've stayed at on any beach. We look forward to our next visit at Up on the Roof!

This house was perfect for our vacation with 10 family members from 8 months to 55 years old. Open floor plan was perfect for our large group gatherings and the rooms and bathrooms were spacious. House was very clean, well furnished and had everything we needed. The location is amazing, with incredible, unobstructed ocean views and is very convenient to the bridge, restaurants, and shopping. Having access to the Club House pool and private beach access directly across the street was great. The beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset from the rooftop deck was the cherry on top. The owners were very nice and attentive and responded to our communications very quickly. We will definitely be back!

Marc and Wendy have the perfect place on Holden Beach. Belonging to the “club” gave us the perfect view of the ocean and an easy access to the beach! The house was the perfect gathering place for our family reunion. With loads of seating space inside and out, and four bedrooms, it is the ideal place for a gather No of family or friends! You should definitely consider holden Beach and Up on the Roof for your next vacation!

Location, house, owner and communication all great. We have rented up and down nc and sc beaches. This ranks as one of the top for us. We may rent it again next year.

This was a wonderful house and served all of our needs. Definitely the best view on the island! Loved the layout and set up and working with the owners couldn't have been easier! We look forward to returning!
