We stayed with our large family with the grandkids and it was plenty of space for us. We had 10 in total. We enjoyed the beach that was in close proximity to the house. Everything was very clean and updated and the hosts were great to work with. Any questions we had, they were very helpful. Highly recommend this place!

This cottage is very family friendly for cooking, playing games, gathering together either out back or just across the street at the beach. The Chicago skyline is amazing on this beach and when conditions are good, the sunset is second to none. This one is a keeper!!

Our 2nd stay at the "Blue House"! 4th, 5th and 6th generation Miller Beach kids enjoyed our stay and a front row to the Gary Air Shore. This home is the perfect Miller Beach location. Perfect layout, well stocked and an attentive owner, which is hard to find! This time we were without my brother, but we truely felt his presence in every sunrise and sunset. Thank you Margaret....

We loved the house, it is very well laid out, and met our needs perfectly. It could not have been better located. Only reason I downgraded the check in process, is we had been given the wrong code for the lock box, struggled thirty minutes with it in the heat, had to call to get correct number, leaving message the first call.

Beautiful house, plenty of room for everybody, super convenient access to a perfect beach, well-stocked modem kitchen, sweet hot tub. This place has it all! My family had a great time just hanging around and relaxing. We'll be back!

The location and amenities are perfect for a multi-generational family vacation. We had another lovely time and plan to be back again next year. I think we've finally found "our" spot on Lake Michigan that meets all of our needs. After a second year stay, it feels like a home away from home.

This is a beautiful property that our family absolutely enjoyed this year. Its location right across from an entrance to the beach was ideal. There were several beach toys that were used by all. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishes. We will be back!

Loved the amenities- outdoor shower, hot tub, beautiful porch area in the back of the house! Definitely the most beautiful house in the whole area. The beach entrance was across the street and was amazing- you do have to walk over a small hill of sand to reach the beach, just an fyi for those with any mobility needs. There were a few items that could use repair, but nothing that negatively affected our group of 10 (including small children). Overall a very enjoyable time and wonderful home!!!

The walk to the beach was short, and enjoyable. The beach itself is lovely and provided the perfect playground for my granddaughter. The house is spacious, with an open first floor. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms and full bath. Three bedrooms in the basement, again with full bath. My favorite spot in the house was the deck off the kitchen. I can confirm that the cushioned couch was the perfect spot for a nap. Complaints were few and minor: manual can opener needs to be replaced in the otherwise well stocked kitchen, the knob for the fan over the stove (which was awesome) was missing, but fortunately after a few minutes of looking around, I remembered where I previously seen it in the pantry, and written instructions should be provided for bathroom faucets and the hot tub. Great hot tub and the outdoor shower was an added bonus. Loved the entire weekend. Will be coming back, hopefully next time for a week.

Terrific in many ways. Nice open concept on the first floor allows the entire family to interact. Good outdoor space to enjoy the evenings, including a hot tub and a smallish grill (which worked well after a good cleaning). The rental is a very short walk -- just across Lake St (which is about 12 feet wide) to a short trail -- to an outstanding Lake Michigan beach where the views across the lake to Chicago were spectacular. On the first day of our stay, we kept waiting for the "Access instructions" on VRBO to become accessible so that we could get the key from the lock box, but even after the listed check-in time the instructions never did appear (maybe a VRBO error?); as a result, we called the owner who gave us the code (we told her about the issue with VRBO, so perhaps it is fixed). Due to a big storm the night before we arrived, we were without power in the house until we contacted the local power company but, thankfully, they got us back up sun set. Overall, a functional, well-equipped place with an awesome lake-side location.

We have already reserved for August 2023 because we love staying here. The house has every amenity, the children love the hot tub, and the beach is so close. We had a wonderful time.

My family and I absolutely enjoyed this home. It was a perfect setup for our children's families with their 4 children under four. The placement of the home to Lake Michigan gave us such a wonderful piece of mind. The babies keep asking when they can go back to the lake house! Thank you Margaret for welcoming us into your home.

We love this house. This is our second year staying here and we had such a great time. The house is beautiful, roomy, and clean. It has everything you need for a beach vacation: amazing location, beach equipment, towels, and privacy. The house is well stocked and so gorgeous. We can't wait to come back!

We had the best time at this great vacation rental in Miller Beach. We’ve been coming to Miller Beach since 2014 and all agreed this was our best year yet. The vacation rental was perfect for us with lots of very usable outdoor space. We were right across the street from the entrance to the beach. The hot tub and outdoor shower were great. The kitchen had all the amenities anyone could ask for to cook together. We’ve already booked for next year!

It was perfect weather and a short walk to the beach. We had the best time.

My entire family had a great time here. My parents and sister’s family joined us (11 total and 2 dogs) for a great beach week. The beach is gorgeous with amazing sunsets (and views of the Chicago skyline) 7 of the 8 nights we stayed. The dogs had plenty of yard room and the people had plenty of house room! Even with 11 of us, we only used 4 of the 5 bedrooms because the cousins thought it was so fun to camp in the bunk room which sleeps 5. Huge kitchen and dining space for meals for a large group was really helpful. Looking forward to next year!

We had a wonderful 5 days and even though the weather varied, we could still enjoy the yard and beach. Indoors is spacious enough for our gathering of 8 and we especially enjoyed the 2 large tables. Outdoor dining was fun too. Great communication with owner and all the comforts of home for a memorable vacation.

Check in was very easy. The place was perfect for our family of 8. Plenty of bedrooms and the open concept of the kitchen/living area were perfect for visiting with everyone. The back deck and side deck were spacious enough for a cookout with family members coming in from Oak Lawn. Steps from the beach and a very nice area for walking. Have been told we need to make this a yearly trip and will definitely rent this home again.

This was the perfect retreat for my husband, Phil and I along with our dog, Oliver while we travelled from the West Coast to the East coast. Wish we’d had more time! We were a few steps away from the beach (the path is right by this house), the fenced-in-yard and various outdoor seating areas made it perfect to spend time with visiting family…and the house was so spacious with a lovely open floor plan. We spent hours talking at the beautiful wooden kitchen table while the sounds of the waves, wind and crickets came through the numerous windows throughout the house. It was wonderful. Took advantage of the outdoor fire pit one night! We would rent this home again!

The home is amazing, spacious, beautifully decorated, and full of everything one needs to have a stellar family vacation. I will definitely be back in Miller and hope to have another stay at this property. So close to the beach even they little ones could make the sandy trek.

If you love the beach this is the place to be! Beautiful and spacious home to entertain family and friends. Convenient beach access….minutes to and from to enjoy lunch, bathroom breaks and sunsets! Third time staying and booked for next year! Kid and pet friendly!

We had a group of 4 adults and 5 kids with plenty of room throughout the house. Open floor plan with 5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms worked great. Just steps from the beach path. The beach was a little disappointing though (compared to other nearby beaches), but the house was the highlight of the stay. State park, dunes and train to Chicago were also a plus.

My wife and I rented this house with my sister and her husband. At various times, we were visited by four of our adult children and some of their significant others. This is a great spot for a family gathering. The bedrooms are upstairs and downstairs from the main floor, which is a totally open room with living, dining and kitchen all in one. Thus, it is easy for the early risers to sneak away and rest while the rest of the family plays games, listens to music, or watches TV (and it as an awesome TV). The house was recently renovated, and it is very clean, functional, and well appointed. All of the appliances are first class, and this makes it very easy to do meals on site. While there are a couple of closer options, if you want to eat out you can find a lot of nice spots in Portage (~ 20 minutes) and Michigan City (~30 minutes), and the drives are interesting. There is a nice fire pit and an outdoor patio/lounge area as well. I love the Miller Beach community, which is largely permanent residents, so this is definitely NOT the place to have your frat party or bachelor party. You'll have a hard time finding a better beach on Lake Michigan (for now, anyway), and if you want to spend the day in Chicago the South Shore Line stops at Miller and goes all the way downtown. Very thankful we found this place for our memorable family visit.

We only had a few days together as a family and didn’t want to travel far from Chicago. We were so lucky this house was available. Really great location, just steps to the beach. We enjoyed hiking in the Dunes and relaxing together at home.

We grew up near this property and beach. In town for our 5oth High School reunion. This home is comfortable and well-equipped. Just steps to the beach and a beautiful back yard and hot tub to boot! Highly recommend.

We just had the most epic beach vacation at Miller Beach. The house itself was perfect for all of our needs. Plenty of room for eating and relaxing, and the bedrooms were abundant and comfortable. Huge yard for games and chasing lightning bugs, fire pit for s’mores, and lots of beach toys made for a memorable week for us and the kids. Beds were very comfortable, all the kids slept well. Margaret was super responsive during our visit. Had the beach to ourselves for a couple days this week. Had Lake Perch at the Beach Cafe, can’t beat that. Debating reserving this house every year!!

My family really enjoyed our stay. Just a short walk to the beach and into Chicago in under an hour. Plenty of seating for my sister’s and my families to enjoy meals together. The kids appreciated the bunk room and the lower level for the cousins to hang out together.
