We have been renting on Onset for many many years. The houses in the village often leave alot to be desired. This rental was fantastic! The decor was spot on and had more than enough room for everyone. It has a very nice yard that faces the water and is within walking distance to restaurants, activities and the beaches. Janis the owner was a great host! The WiFi and AC were much appreciated! We have already booked for next year. Thanks

Janis is a lovely host. Check in and check out was very easy. The home is beautiful and very clean. My family and I had a lot of fun going to the beach, going into town, and just hanging around the house. Janis even left the sweetest gift bag, with a bunch of little gifts and treats for us to enjoy. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking in the Onset area. Our first family vacation when all of us were there at one time. Ages 4 months to 101. We had a great time! The house is perfect with the four bedrooms and the wonderful front porch. We could have not asked for a better house. The beach across the street was a bonus. Hope to be able to be there again next year. Janis is a superb host.

Janis is a very conscientious host! What I loved the most - she changes out the shower curtains!!! Hotels don’t even do that. I was a bit nervous staying at a rental during this time, but Janis’ attention to detail was especially appreciated during the pandemic: ⁃ Complete sets of towels and comforters that the previous guests didn’t have. So she washes them of course, but it’s great to know they also sat for days since being used. ⁃ She requested we bring our own pillows due to covid....but I have to be honest, thinking about it now I’m shocked I haven’t been bringing my own pillows all along. Thinking about sleeping on pillows a stranger just mouth-breathed all over totally freaks me out. LOL ⁃ She left us the nicest, most thoughtful gift I have ever received at a rental! Was a wonderful surprise. The house: ⁃ The only thing that surprised me was the photos are so well done you don’t realize there is a house between you and the cove. Once I got over the vision I had in my head, all was fantastic. ⁃ The AC is SO powerful you have to figure out what works for your family so you’re not freezing at night. We found 74 to be perfect for us. Or if the weather is nice and it’s not humid, the rooms get some amazing cross breezes. (Perfect for afternoon naps!) ⁃ The set up works GREAT for a family. 2 bdrm downstairs and 3/4 bath and 2 bdrm upstairs and full bath we took for those with kiddos. (Rooms upstairs are big enough for a pack-n-play.) I’ll also add double sinks upstairs is awesome for nighttime routines. 1 bdrm on each floor has TV. ⁃ The porch and yard are a DREAM. we’ve spent every morning and night rocking on the porch and then if not at the beach we hang out in the yard. Reviews didn’t mention the fantastic tree that gives shade in the yard you can follow all day. Our family of sun worshippers & shade lovers were both happy. ⁃ Fast & efficient washer & dryer has come in handy. It is in the bathroom next to the kitchen so super easy to get in a quick load. ⁃ Grill is also getting a workout and Janis always has extra propane at the ready. The beach: ⁃ The beach itself is perfect sized if you have little kids. Water is very shallow and plenty of sand to play in. I would recommend water shoes as the bottom is a bit mucky. ⁃ We’ve seen some older kids catching crabs and other tiny fish in the water and loving it. ⁃ Janis provided beach chairs. Bring a wagon for sure! Convenient walk - 2 min if that

This house was perfect for our stay. Clean, comfortable, and Janis was extremely accommodating. Close to lots of attractions and the little village is adorable. You won't be disappointed.

This place was the first spot for a waterfront vacation. My wife and I brought our kids and have our parents stay at the house for a combined vacation. The beach was perfect for swimming and we took advantage of all that Onset and Buzzards Bay has to offer. The owner was a true pleasure to work with and we could not have been happier with how she managed all the details of our visit. I highly recommend staying here! Beautiful home, convenient to locations

The property is beautiful and very well Kept. We had a wonderful time water was withi. Walking distance. Janis was Great showed us around the property made us very welcomed. Had some brochures and made suggestion of places to visit very helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to friend and family.

We had a wonderful week long stay. The house was so clean and beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking in. The views were gorgeous. We loved the front porch and front yard. Highly recommend!

What an amazing place to stay! From the moment we arrived, Janis greeted us with kindness as was so excited to show us her "cottage." This place has everything you could think of! She takes great pride in her property, the whole house was spotless and up to date. We had 6 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room for everyone. My 2 little girls loved the sandy beach a short walk down the road. Most of the week they had the beach all to themselves! Onset Village (also a short walk or very short drive) had plenty of restaurants to choose from and also a small grocery store. The house is in a very quiet and friendly neighborhood, which definitely helped contribute to a relaxing vacation. The yard was large enough for the kids to run around and play and we could see the water from the yard and inside the house. My family can't thank you enough Janis for allowing us to all have a relaxing family getaway together.

Beautiful newer home that is very welcoming. The yard was spacious for playing outdoor games and having meals. The proximity of this wonderful home is ideally located within steps to the water to drop in the kayaks, walking or biking distance to dining, events, the pier. Only a few minutes to the canal where you can rent a bike and go down the path along the canal or enjoy the visitors center with lots of activities for everyone. Onset Village was just a great place to relax. Quiet neighborhood. Away from the busyness of the cape yet close enough to get anywhere. We truly enjoyed our stay in Janis's home. She was a fabulous host with lots of insight as to what is going on in the area and places to go. Janis made us feel like we were old friends and not just someone renting out her home. What a great start and finish to vacation. Thank you Janis for your hospitality and making this such a wonderful retreat for our family to enjoy! Would highly recommend staying here.

This home was perfect for my extended family to relax and enjoy the beach for a week. Janis was a thoughtful host, and her care for the home and her guests really shows. She uses the term "cottage" to be humorous-- the house is spacious, and essentially brand new, with all the amenities you could need. Thanks to the open living area, the porch and front yard, we felt very comfortable even with 7 adults and 2 children. Some of our favorite things about the cottage were: the outdoor shower after coming back from Sandy Beach; happy hour on the the front porch and watching the sunset after the kids were in bed; the perfect location in walking distance to the shops and restaurants at the center of Onset; playing soccer and popping bubbles on the front lawn, and kayaking around the bay. While in Onset, we also enjoyed a sunset Canal Cruise, the Falmouth Road Race, a fishing trip thanks to a boat rental at Stonebridge Marina, and a visit to the Woods Hole Aquarium. Our perfect weather was good luck, and so was finding this place! Before the week was over, we had already begun planning our trip next summer. Thank you, Janis!

What we experienced was a fantastic week. A really nice house, wonderful garden, great air conditioning, all electronic devices needed, even guest presents (incredible, we never had that!) - above all a really friendly and supportive host. There is really nothing we missed and we can just recommend enjoying a fab time at Janis' house. Go ahead and book it. You won't regret it.

We had an amazing vacation at this home. I was first blown away at how meticulous, clean, organized and well decorated this home was because that certainly is not the case for all cape rentals. We were able to move right in and make ourselves comfortable. The home provided everything that we needed. It was a short walk (less than 2 minutes) to two small private beaches that my young sons loved to play at. It was about a 10 minute or less walk to the public beach in the center of town that you could also drive to if necessary with all your beach gear. Parking was ample all week long. The location is very serene. We enjoyed sitting on the porch or yard overlooking the water. We had a family reunion/party one day and there was plenty of space for all. We walked to restaurants, went on a canal cruise, enjoyed kayaking and soaked up the sun at the beach. Janis was a gracious host. She left us a wonderful welcome bag that was so thoughtful and filled with local treats that we enjoyed. She was available to answer any questions we had. We had no issues while staying there. We hope to go back again next year.

Our family enjoyed every minute of our week in this lovely shoreline home! From the location, to the beach, to the beautiful and spotless home - we were thoroughly pleased. We love the beach themed decore, the fully equipped kichen and BBQ, and the spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable- we had a great time, and we'll be back!

Our family just returned from a week in Onset and the Cape. It is nearly impossible to fully convey how truly wonderful this house and lovely owner is. As soon as we entered the front door we were greeted by the owner, Janis, who is perhaps one of the warmest, most gracious leasees we've ever encountered. She takes tremendous pride in her home, which is reflected throughout this new house that is so beautifully designed and decorated. For several days the house easily accommodated as many as 7 people, and can even hold up to 9 guests! We all felt completely comfortable in the house located in the charming town of Onset, which was a great starting point for our daily excursions throughout the Cape. Janis provided excellent suggestions for areas to explore (i.e. Onset Beach, Sandwich, Chatham, Marconi Beach, Martha's Vineyard and Provincetown,) as well as terrific recommendations for dinner (Don't miss Wimpys in Osterville)! All in all, our vacation week was a complete success, not only because the Cape provides a myriad of diverse activities that guests of all ages can enjoy, but at least as important, the owner cares so deeply about the enjoyment of all who enters her very special home. We enthusiastically recommend this vacation rental to anyone seeking an exceptional place to stay in a superb environment!

The location of the home is not close to any large beach areas so driving to other towns is required. The outdoor shower door was stuck and we were unable to use it. The TVs are located in the corners mounted to the ceiling and they are difficult to see from the seating arrangements. The dining area is small for groups larger than 6 people and the kitchen island was too small to prepare our Lobsters. There is an odor of propane from the tank and inside the front closet. We loved Cape Cod but this home was too far from the areas needed for families or beach goers. We wouldn't recommend this home to families because of the amenities and location to beaches and sightseeing.

We booked this big house along with cottage on the same property. The house was absolutely amazing, it was incredibly clean and fresh. The amenities in the house were more than I have ever experienced in a weekly rental. The large yard and short walk to a quiet private beach was perfect for our children. We absolutely love Onset, it is the cape without the cape traffic! Can’t wait to get back to this house next summer- already counting the days!

Superb family cottage. We spent a week with our 3 children, the location is very convenient for many outings. Janis is amazing giving directions and ideas. The cotttage is fully equiped and we found everything we needed. We certainly would recommend it.

Our family of seven were very comfortable for our relaxing week long stay. The attention to detail in this perfectly located house was amazing. We all agreed that it was everything we could have hoped for and more. The kids loved the private beach and the large lawn. The adults loved the safe, friendly, quiet location and the view from the porch. Day trips were easy due to being close to many great spots. Our host was so kind and helpful with suggestions for nearby attractions. Fantastic accommodation! Beautiful home away from home feel.

This was our first vacation back in the Cape Cod area. We choose this beautiful house for the proximity to the water and the ease of getting around. My husband, our two children and my parents enjoyed every second of our stay. We loved spending our evenings sitting out on the porch enjoying the view and sipping wine, while the kids played. We also loved the owners hospitality. She made sure that everything was perfect...and it was! Thank you for a wonderful vacation and everlasting memories!

My family and I stayed at this property for 6 days and 5 nights in September 2011. The house is charming, warm and inviting. The property owners are top-shelf!! -could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We are definitely planning a return trip. My only hesitation in recommending this property is that if it becomes too popular, it might not be available when we want to stay there again!

My family and I have rented this property with another couple for the last two summers for one week each stay. Each of our families have 2 adults and two children so this size house was perfect for our stay. There are two floors and 2 bedrooms on each floor with a bathroom on each floor so that worked out very well. The property is a rarity in that is has air conditioning (for a small additional cost) which is very nice if it becomes hot during your stay. There is a TV with DVD and cable TV on the main floor as well as another TV upstairs (I assume this also has cable, we've never used it). The yard is excellent for children to run and play in and you can walk easily to multiple cove beaches as well as downtown where you will find small places to eat and ice cream for the kids. The property comes equipped well for the budget conscious vacationer with pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, coffee maker, gas grill and dishwasher and ice maker so you can cook at home for your entire trip if you like. We chose to do that for much of our stays. You are close to shopping at large grocery and department stores and also close enough to drive to whale watches, fishing tours and the like. There are also concerts right in town sometimes (our friends managed to attend a Beatles tribute while we were there that was in walking distance). Janice is excellent to work with and only asks you take care of her property as if it were your own. Sheets, towels and bed linens are all supplied. The place is always clean when you arrive and she will be there waiting to check you in and there again to check you out on time. Top notch rental and always a great time, don't forget to sign the guestbook.

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. There are so many fun things to do very close by, most of them within walking distance. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures. We stayed here with our two children and my husband's parents and we felt like we had plenty of room. The owner's hospitality was amazing and the detail that has been put into making this home comfortable was greatly appreciated. The home was spotless and everything about the property was well-maintained. We hope to come back again next year!!
