My husband and I were celebrating our 25th Anniversary and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law were celebrating their 40th Anniversary! Condo 1804 did not disappoint! It truly was the perfect place for our trip. Great location, well equipped with everything that you needed. And, the views were just breathtaking from the deck! If we had a question, Kathy always responded right away (very helpful in every way). We definitely would stay here again!

This trip was a long time coming as we were scheduled to be there during the Covid shutdown in 2020. The manager of the property would not give us our money back even though we could not possibly physically be there as there were no flights going to the islands at all. We were extremely frustrated, but I can say that she did at least extend the time that we had to use the credit so finally we went about 2.5 years later. Now about the condo. It was clean and had everything you might need available to use, including beach gear, condiments and laundry soap. I am sure there was more, but these are the things that we found ourselves grateful to have available. It was also in a great location, close enough to shopping and restaurants. I would not say within walking distance, but within a short driver. The very best thing about the condo was that it was RIGHT ON THE OCEAN. The sound of the waves were my favorite thing!!! Only a few negatives....the blinds let in so much light. They really should consider getting black out shades of some sort. I don't want to be woken up by the sun at 5:30-6am every morning of my vacation. Also, the condo is a bit out dated as far as decor, flooring, tile in shower etc. It made it feel older, darker and a little dingier that it really was. Over all we had a nice time.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Kahului-Keauhou. The view was amazing and it was the perfect location from which to explore the rest of the island.

Our families stayed at this lovely condo in June 2022 for our first reunion since the pandemic. The condo itself is beautifully appointed and has all the comforts of being welcomed into someone's home. Kathy communicated with us throughout the booking period and was kind and generous in her handling of our reservation, delays, and questions. The view from this condo is amazing. We stay at the Kanaloa at Kona one to two times per year (and have done so for the last 10+years) and this unit is now at the very top of our list of favorites. This trip was filled with laughter, relaxation, good stories, good food, good cheer, and great memories - in no small part due to our fortune of staying in 1804.

Stayed for almost a week at this property. The view was amazing and listening to the waves crashing against the lava rocks. Wish there were more towels and wash clothes for us.

My Wife and i stayed at Kanaloa at Kona for five nights in April 2018. The Condo location is inside a resort community of condos set inside of a larger community of homes and other condos making up one large neighborhood. The condo sits right on the waters edge with lava flows right below the condo lanai with the Pacific ocean waves breaking onto the lava in front of the condo. The condo is a second floor unit of 4 condos together with a stairway leading up from entrance door to the actual living space so you will need be able to lift your luggage up a fairly long flight of stairs. The condo is completely updated with everything needed for a great stay, two nice size bedrooms and two nice bathrooms , with master bath having tub, a walk-in shower with two shower heads and double vanity and makeup area to sit at. The second bath has double vanity also with single walk-in shower. The third bedroom is in a loft with twin beds overlooking den area and kitchen area with stairway. all appliance are modern and top quality with granite countertops through complete unit. Also complete with Maytag washer and dryer. There was a additional charge for Air Conditioning which is controlled by a preset program that you are unable to change since its a locked thermostat with security code to make any changes. The AC was set to about 75- 78 during waking hours and was uncomfortable for us in later morning hours, afternoon and early evening hrs when returning from sight seeing. The second day the trade winds had calmed and we noticed the AC was warm and thats when we realized we could not adjust. This was a concern before we booked this unit and we were told we could lower ac to 70 if needed but not below that temp. we contacted the owner and she insisted that we could just rotate the ring to cooler temp but that was not possible as we told her the unit was locked via a code to unlock and even sent over a picture of thermostat showing the lock and that it was set to a green leaf energy savings mode. i could understand this situation if we hadnt already agreed we could lower the temp before we booked plus we paid a extra 125.00 to run AC for 5 days. She does have many fans in the unit that helped but we arent ones to sleep at night with strong fans at night so this was not that comfortable to us. If i had been at home in our city with a ac locked at 78 degrees in the afternoon i would be calling the AC repairman to fix my AC. i do understand energy savings but also after spending 1900 for 5 nights including the extra AC charge i would expect to be able to lower the temp as needed within reason. The other issues although a bit minor were that the assigned parking for the condos were small for two cars to park together in assigned covered parking where people could barely exit the passenger side because you needed to allow enough room for driver to park and get out vehicle so you needed to let passengers out before parking. The assigned parking for this unit isnt in front of the condo although other condos are assigned parking in front of your condo. This probably isn't anything the owner can control. Its like parking your car three houses down from the house you live in. Overall we had a great time, there was nothing else we needed that the condo didnt have. The location was great and the views out the lanai were fantastic. i would have gave it 5 stars if the AC had not been a issue that she said she couldnt correct. She told us she could not get a service tech out in time to look at, but never offered the code to manually operate it either?? At the least i think we should have been offered the 125.00 charge for AC usage back, but we were never offered any compensation. Personally i believe there was nothing wrong with the AC and the owner acted like she didn't understand how the new programable thermostats worked or didnt want us to lower the temp all along and figured once we got there we wouldnt mind the higher temps!! For that reason we will not return to this particular unit again in the future. Sincerely Eric And Sandy

We stayed for seven nights at this lovely condo on Hawaii. The private balcony overlooking the ocean was fabulous. We had Kona coffee there every morning and watched the sun set every night. The beds were comfortable, the washer and drier worked well and the owner was very responsive. The unit had an outdoor closet full of snorkeling and other beach equipment, which was very helpful. We did not have to find a snorkel shop to rent. The condo's pools and tennis courts were a plus for us. We used our rental car to go to the different beaches each day, which worked for us. We would definitely return to stay at this unit and hope to do so soon!

Came back to the Big Island to Marlin fish. Best place to do that in the world. Have stayed in several condos before. 1804 is the best. This condo Is so close to the water it’s like being on a boat. Sunsets are truly spectacular. Can’t wait to come back.

We absolutely loved the view from the lanai and hearing the crashing waves. This unit is in a fantastic location and is so well furnished with everything you need for a wonderful vacation!

After nearly an eighteen month delay due to the pandemic, we arrived in our favorite Hawaiian Island and Kanaloa at Kona has been our vacation destination for over 10 years. We have stayed at several different ocean-front condos in the complex but this year was our first stay at the spectacular Unit 1804. With three bedrooms and the large great room, there was plenty of space for our group of one couple and two single adults. We spent many hours relaxing in the great room or on the lanai being serenaded by the rhythmic sounds of waves crashing against the lava shoreline or watching for canoes and dolphins while we sipped our Kona coffee each morning. The condo has everything including a huge smart TV, gourmet inspired kitchen, comfortable beds, tasteful island inspired furnishings, and large updated bathrooms. It was an added benefit that there are coolers, beach chairs and all sorts of snorkel and beach toys. By the end of our stay, we had spent the majority of time within 15 miles of the condo and all were thoroughly relaxed. True serenity in paradise!

Really fantastic location right on the water. Very well equipped condo with all the stuff you need but dont want to pack. Only complaint is the wifi coverage is poor and will not cover the lanai. Badly in need of a mesh wifi or wifi extender to fill in coverage to front of unit. Otherwise, fantastic.

Our group stayed at Kanaloa at Kona #1804 the last week of September 2021 and I must say it was exactly as described and more. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, The spacious and well appointed condo made for extremely comfortable and enjoyable accommodations throughout our stay. For me, the large oceanfront lanai was a highlight as we spent a majority of our time there watching wildlife and humans frolicking in the sea! While this may be a restatement of previous reviews, I would like to emphasize how well appointed the kitchen was. Things we take for granted at home, like spices and seasonings were all there and available for our use. Other condos where we’ve stayed may have had pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, but we’ve often had to spend lots of money purchasing these basic supplies for cooking. Not here! We prepared most of our meals here and rarely did we lack anything necessary (except the food itself) to prepare delicious meals and pupus. Kathy was very helpful when I realized my original booking dates were incorrect. I just picked up the phone and she got everything corrected right away. It is easy to tell she wanted our stay at her condo and our vacation overall to be just right, and it was! My wife and I had planned to bring a friend with us on our 2020 vacation to the Big Island. We booked Kanaloa 1804 because of its location (ocean front) and large size (2+ bedrooms, 2 bath). Covid changed all that and we were so relieved when Kathy gave us full credit towards a stay at a future date. 1 1/2 years later we finally made it back for our 7th visit to Kanaloa but our first to condo 1804. Wow, we were thrilled with the condo itself, its comfortable furnishings and very complete accessories (kitchen, bath, beach, tech, etc.). The kitchen is stocked better than any condo we've stayed in on any of the islands. The view from the lanai captivated us every morning and most evenings! It doesn't get much better than watching dolphins swim and jump in close proximity while eating breakfast! All the great things we experienced on the island are happy memories for us and adventures for you to discover. We hope to stay in 1804 again! And thanks again to Kathy for her friendly and flexible service.

My family of five adults stayed at Kanaloa at Kona in unit 1804 and we couldn’t have been happier. Besides the beautiful property, we enjoyed the Ocean Pool and view from our ocean-front balcony. Our condo was beautifully decorated and the floor plan was nice too; we never felt crowded. We enjoyed our condo so much we ordered dinner in two out of four nights. I highly recommend the property - the staff was always pleasant, helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed the location of the property as well. It was at the south end of Ali’i Dr. just far enough from the traffic but close enough we could access the shops and restaurants quickly. I highly recommend Kanaloa at Kona!!

From the minute you round the corner heading to the kitchen, you are surrounded by ocean views. Almost a 180 degree view. It’s like being on a boat without the motion. Both bedrooms also have views, the smaller bedroom is a full view and the master is a little more angled view. Furniture is comfortable, house is spotlessly clean. Master bathroom is HUGE including a two person shower. You will hear the waves 24/7. There is a little path along the beach and you can easily walk to a small secluded bay. I never got tired of sitting on the balcony watching the waves, boats and kayaks and we even saw a little pod of dolphins. Glorious sunsets. Lots of supplies like spices, paper products, etc, all appliances, coolers, everything you need for a great island getaway.

It is located literally on the ocean with heavy sea spray actually hitting the condo on the first floor when there is a king tide. The condo has just about every amenity you could expect, fully outfitted kitchen, multiple fans in every room, coolers, noodles, snorkel sets and a powerful a/c. The owner as well as the contact for the condo is always available for any and all questions and issues that may arise. The giant tv has cable, Netflix, and Amazon. The views from the living room and the lanai are breathtaking with lovely views of the sunset and dolphins daily.We have been staying in this condo for many years and I can say based on experience this is by far the best condo in Kona. Condo was exactly as described it was completely stocked with everything we would have needed for weeks of stay. Owners were friendly and answered questions quickly. The views were outstanding the listening to the ocean was phenomenal. All of us would highly recommend staying here anytime you are on the big island.

This is the best location in the Kanaloa condo group. We have stayed many times at his lovely place, and, this is our best time yet. The location is spectacular, views on the North and South from the Lanai. The condo was full of comfortable furniture, the Masterbed so comfy, and the towels and blankets warm and soft. The guest bedroom had a smaller but equally nice bed. We didn’t use the loft this time, but it was equipped well. We arrived in the COVID world of cleanliness being the first priority, and this place was spotless. We had one issue with the internet, and found the owner quick to respond and helpful. The air conditioner was quiet and effective when needed. The beach equipment in the car port was very helpful to use for our snorkel and beach days. We cannot say enough good things about this unit, and, hopefully we will return next year to stay again. Best, and Mahalo, John and Denise

Our stay at Kanaloa and Kathy's condo was once again a wonderful respite from winter, especially this year - Feb 2021. All you need is at your fingertips and the spice cupboard is well stocked. Even with some pandemic restrictions on pool and spa use in the evening, it was more than worth going. The lanai is a perennial favorite being so close to the ocean within sight of spinner dolphins, the occasional whale and a myriad of boats to watch. Open air restaurants were available if we decided to take a break from grilling on the available grills. All in all, a wonderful time. Thank you for keeping everything so well maintained!

We absolutely loved this condo! Waking up to the ocean waves below the deck every morning with coffee was absolutely heavenly! The condo had anything you could ever want, plus was beautiful! We loved the tennis court and Oceanside pool!I would seriously rent this place again when we come back to the Big Island!

Kathy the owner was awesome and communicated so well with me (especially with all the issues with Covid. The condo is absolutely fabulous and well stocked. Our daughter got engaged on one of the most beautiful sunsets while we were there. Hope to go back next year.

As always,this is a welcoming place to be close to the ocean and listen to the waves.The second floor deck is close enough to get spray if the waves are big. Kathy is always easy to work with and having the third upstairs bedroom for the part time guests is very convenient. For an older condo complex, this condo is kept up to date with newer appliances and Hawaii style bathrooms. The two of the three pools are rarely very busy and each has its own hot tub. Walking to the shops at Keauhou is an easy hike. This year we went over to do ocean canoeing with the guest program at Keauhou Canoe club - they were great! All in all, our favorite place at Kanaloa!

We had a great stay. The condo was clean and the kitchen was well stalked. I cooked a different fish almost every night, so it was nice to have a well stalked kitchen. The view from the lanai was amazing! Definitely one of the best condos we've ever stayed in.

Very nice well appointed condo. Plenty of space! Best thing is that I believe that #1804 has the best, closest surf of the complex! Loved hearing the waves on the lava rocks along the shore.
