Everything was thought out ahead of time.

We made a mid-week trip here for the first time from Napa and had a lovely time! Catherine the host was always available and helpful in getting our bearings. The community amenities and Sly Park Recreation area are very convenient. Home was very clean and cozy, with all the wares you need in the kitchen. If you're a movie buff, there is also a vast DVD collection to sift through. We'll be back.

It was perfect. Very relaxing. Perfect location for days at Jenkinson Lake. Lazy days at the pool, and close to groceries. Catherine was kind and helpful. The nightly ping pong tournaments between the teen boys were epic. We all can't wait to come back again next summer. When your teenage son tells you it' was a "W" vacation, you know it's great.

We loved our stay at A Mountain Rose! The house was stocked full of fun things for our whole family to do. Our 8 & 12 year old loved the garage filled with ping pong, fooseball, and air hockey. Our 3 year old loved the closet full of blocks, Little People, Mr. Potatohead and coloring supplies. Us adults loved the fully stocked kitchen, comfy bed and huge DVD selection. We also enjoyed being so close to the lake! Lifelong memories were made!!!

From the start, the owner was so pleasant and easy to work with. She was super responsive and very kind. The home is adorable! Very clean and very well taken care of! This was a weekend getaway for my husband and I. We fished by day and relaxed by night. We even challenged each other in some foosball and table tennis! Overall, it was an excellent experience and we will be back for sure!

We wanted a base for a weekend of snow play and it was perfect. There's not much snow at this level which was what we wanted. Just a short drive to deep snow or ski resorts. The owner is very attentive and the home is very well appointed. It has everything you will need. It was cozy and comfy snd we would definitely stay again.

We had such a wonderful time resting and relaxing at A Mountain Rose! The house was clean and the kitchen fully stocked with kitchen ware and appliances. The house has everything that you need. We enjoyed the cozy wood fireplace while catching up on some reading. A short drive to Placerville was a fun trip! Catherine is such a gracious hostess, we are looking forward to the next trip.

This property was well maintained and had exactly what we were looking for. The hostess was gracious, courteous, and helpful--always made herself available. I would highly recommend this property. Hope to revisit in the future...

What a beautiful home! It was so beautiful clean and tidy! We loved our stay came a little late in the year can’t wait to go back up earlier and stay longer. The owner was very attentive to all of our needs and super easy to contact. I wish they were all like this it would make my decisions easier. Some very nice restaurants nearby. Plus a Safeway very close.

We stayed at A Mountain Rose while exploring Apple Hill and Placerville for our 'girls weekend get away'. The location is great, just down the road from Sly Park lake. The home is well stocked and has just about anything you could need. We enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing stay...so much so that I am brining my hubby and parents with me to stay at A Mountain Rose next month and plan to use the air hockey and ping pong tables in the garage!!! Catherine was easy to communicate with and very responsive and helpful.

Overall .. a great comfortable home. Love the fact that it has lots of board games and the game tables for the kids. Only downside is the the beds are really high... it does have a stool i wouldnt mind it so much but I do have a 1 year old that I breastfeed and cosleep. It became uncomfortable... i was so afraid my baby would fall off. But overall a really really great home..loved our stay. Catherine is a great host . Super friendly and very sweet . She will answer all your questions right away. ✅️ 👌👌💯

Perfect for 3 adults, 1 child and 1 little dog. Not much snow, but we found some nearby, as well as a playground 1 block away. Great backyard and short drive to the lake. Stocked up at Safeway, 1 mile away, and used the excellent kitchen facilities for 3 days. Definitely a 5 star destination. Too bad we had to use VRBO to book, as they skim too much $, and deposit paid back over 2 weeks! Owner is very nice and available though.

Nice front patio and spacious backyard to enjoy the sunshine or time away from active kid & dog🤪. Comfortable beds and furniture which is important to me. Well stocked kitchen, lots of kid and adult DVDs, kids activities too. Washer and dryer too. Safeway, CVS, gas station close by 2-4 miles maybe. Great location for Jenkinson lake hikes or other area nature exploration. Fantastic weekend, great rates too!

We had a wonderful time at Pollock Pines and staying at this property was one of the best parts. The place is very nice and easy to get to. Instructions from the owner were clear and easy to follow. We had a lot of fun playing table tennis, curling up in front of the fire and watching movies. The beds were very high off the ground and my two beagles had a hard time figuring out how to get up, but the did. The backyard was nicely fenced in with a wire fence and I had no trouble letting my pups out for play/poops whenever they asked. We will be back to stay again.

NIce house
Clean, very well stocked, modern with a traditional and homey feeling. Loved the large fenced in yard for our dogs and the proximity to great dog-friendly hiking. Owner responsive but no issues requiring help. In the woods but close to Safeway and restaurants. Near Rt. 50 but quiet and peaceful. We would stay here again.

Amazing location
My family and I stayed here and truly enjoyed it. I have 2 kids under 2 and very kid friendly. There is even a park around the corner walking distance. We really wanna go back once it snows. There are even show toys available in garage. I enjoyed beating my husband in a few games of ping pong. Really enjoyed the fireplace made some smores .

Very nice place - had everything we needed! Wonderful yard for the kids to play! They also had tons of children's toys inside for a rainy day.

Just as advertised! A wonderful place to stay. Something not mentioned, but I think is good for dog owners to know; The backyard is highly secured so we could take our pup off-leash and let her sniff around the yard without any chance of an accidental escape. This is something other dog-friendly homes do not always have. The house is close to the lake and hiking which made it easy to do multiple excursions in one day. Hiking early morning and kayaking in the later morning. Lots of activities and wonderful cool AC in the house made for great afternoon entertainment when it was very hot outside. Catherine checked in to make sure we were having a good experience. We will definitely be back!

Something not mentioned, but I think is good for dog owners to know; The backyard is highly secured so we could take our pup off-leash and let her sniff around the yard without any chance of an accidental escape. This is something other dog-friendly homes do not always have. The house is close to the lake and hiking which made it easy to do multiple excursions in one day. Hiking early morning and kayaking in the later morning. Lots of activities and wonderful cool AC in the house made for great afternoon entertainment when it was very hot outside. Catherine checked in to make sure we were having a good experience. We will definitely be back!

We enjoy everything in that house, they have toys for kids, games, movies they are prepare for family adventures, the location is good, the lake is in 3 minutes away from the property driving, the house was clean and have everything you need, for sure we’ll be back.

From the very beginning of the booking process all the way through checkout, Catherine was a delight to deal with.
The house and property was so extremely comfortable, it was just like being at home. The house was so clean, and well appointed that there was very little need for anything.
We will DEFINITELY be returning when we come to the area again.

Great for a family stay
I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at A Mountain Rose in Pollock Pines. Catherine was extremely communicative and always available by phone if I had any questions. I also appreciated that nearly everything in the home was clearly labeled. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and utensils- I even found a baby spoon to use for my little one! Ping pong in the garage was so much fun and the backyard was nice and relaxing. I loved this quiet, warm home and will stay again.
One thing to mention- I could not find the fire pit that I had seen in the photos, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one there. I should have asked Catherine about it.

A great stay
This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Apple Hill and the wineries in the area. Fireplace was available to use, so great ambiance. Beds are comfortable, slept great.

Cozy And Clean
We had a great time in the sierra lakes this sumar, and definitely part of it was to be able to come to a clean home. My 2 year old daughter has breathing issues so being in a house with no fumes or pet smells really help us having a good night sleep. The owner was very helpful in the process and answer all my questions in a timely manner. We will definitely keep Mountain Rose in mind for our Winter and spring vacations.
