Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids (ages 3-9) stayed for 4 nights and had a great stay. We didn’t need anything - kitchenware, utensils, all things we needed to cook (except for food, oil) was there. We didn’t run out of dishes and utensils when dishwasher was running, with more than enough indoor dishes and outdoor dishes for our group to use throughout the day. More than enough cleaning supplies were there, like spray cleaner, dishwasher pods, detergent, trash bags, a vacuum cleaner. They supplied a nice set of shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion, as well as plenty of towels. Rooms and bedding felt clean, and one of our guests even said the bed was nice and firm, unlike other places with sagging mattresses, and not lumpy pillows. More than enough space to spread out, with two very large common areas to hang out inside and out. It was HOT outside 3 of 4 days but A/C kept us comfortable inside when we needed a break from the heat. The house had some puzzles and games to keep us occupied. Best part was the outside. Pool was nice and warm, kids never wanted to get out! It was clean, with a nice shady area to sit. A lot of places to sit, nice working BBQ (with tools!), and large grassy areas to run around and play. The outdoor movie area was a huge plus! The host/manager was very responsive throughout our stay. We had some questions and a couple problems (not the fault of the house) all resolved quickly. Would definitely book again.

We celebrated my sister getting married at this house and had an incredible time. The kitchen was the perfect size to host our group of 10 ladies and was the common area for us all to hang out, eat and enjoy girl time. The pool and hot tub in the backyard were perfect for just enjoying each other’s company and the sunshine. The backyard is beautiful and spacious enough for us to host a yoga class. The best part though, were the neighbor goats. I loved seeing them every morning on the hill grazing. We had a few hiccups with our stay but nothing that the property manager didn’t immediately address. Our first issue was trying to get the key out of the lock box, but once we called they gave us a different code to try and it worked - someone must’ve forgotten to update the code after the previous guests. The other issue, the electricity was out in a portions of the master suite side of the house. We tried to hit the breaker ourselves to see if that was the problem, but that didn’t fix it. A few hours later the property manager sent out their handymen to take a look and it ended up being an issue where an electrician was needed. We mentioned we weren’t in an urgent need of this to be fixed because it was about 8pm on a Friday night at this point, but they still sent someone out. He was there for maybe 30 minutes and was able to fix the electrical issue. We were very pleased with the communication and the quick response of the property manager and their team.

Great property and excellent management. Prompt response to question. Neat, clean, nicely appointed. Kitchen has everything you need for preparing food. Pool is the BEST! Perfect temp - refreshing but not cold. Great fun to watch movie on the back patio with the fire feature. Lovely soft throws everywhere for cool evenings. Beds were comfy, not hard. One bathroom very convenient to the pool and backyard. Little ones loved the play structure. Very, very happy with our stay.

We loved the privacy of the property. Also, all the different venues outside to sit. The pool was enjoyed by all, especially the teenagers. The house accommodated all 10 of us very well. The kitchen was huge and easy to navigate and work in. We also liked the sleepy town of Cloverdale.

The property was amazing. Pam was wonderful to work with and her tips on stores and restaurants were so helpful. Everything was close by to the home. We were outside the whole time swimming, playing on the play structure, watching movies and roasting marshmallows. Everything was perfect and we had a lovely time. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms had plenty of room in them for my grown children to have a playpen/crib for their toddlers to sleep in. Highly recommend the property.

This house was fantastic! Everything from the pool, kitchen, playground, outdoor movie theater, fire pit, jacuzzi… just amazing! We were a group of 3 families with kids ages 8-13 and this house was perfect for everyone. Highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a quiet but luxurious getaway in Sonoma.

Starling's Rest is a wonderful property for family and friends to enjoy. We had a group of kids who loved being able to watch an outdoor movie, play on the play structure and of course enjoy the pool and hot tub. Downtown Cloverdale with plenty of dining options is quick drive and there is a lovely local winery almost next door (William Gordon, make sure to make an appointment) for the adults. The property manager was very responsive to our questions and requests. Would definitely come back!

No tissues provided and no hand soap in the bathrooms.

We spent a week at Starlings Rest (grandparents, "kids" and their three children ages 8-14). The house was exactly as advertised but even better. FULLY equipped with every possible kitchen item one could want and so much storage, the only challenge was finding everything. We recommend a thorough tour of the kitchen cabinets before thinking something is not provided! We loved the fantastic pool (with lots of pool toys) and new hot tub with colored lights (fun at night). The fire pit up on the hill is a great spot for making s'mores and just hanging out in the evening. The front deck with the beautiful wood table and ten chairs comfy chairs plus a swing has lovely views of the hills and some peeks at the vineyards. We loved having brunch and some dinners out there. Golf at the Windsor Golf Club and the "amazing" ziplline (age 10+) at Occidental were two off-site activities enjoyed by our teen and male adults, but the younger kids never left the property (their choice) and must have spent 30 hours at least in the pool. We'd hoped to do a river activity but alas, very little water due to the drought. For beautiful scenery, take Dry Creek Road into Healdsburg and enjoy the Plaza, shops and restaurants, but if you just want to relax, it would be hard to beat Starlings Rest. And Pamela and her management team were incredible to work with - very responsive and helpful in answering questions. Everyone in our group would highly recommend this property.

Overall the property was what we were looking for and the pool area was amazing. A few minor issues like the trash being full and at the bottom of the hill when we arrived, broken pool toys, lack of hookup/propane for the fire pits, but nothing too significant.

Overall, this is a great place to come with a family for a summer getaway - the backyard has a playground, lawn for kicking around a ball, warm heated pool, hot tub and nice shaded veranda for lounging and watching the kids and for outdoor family meals. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/gadgets for cooking and we liked the open floor plan. We really appreciate the owners being very responsive and making our stay comfortable.

Nice place. Quiet, peaceful. Fire pit on patio and pool cover were not working while we were there but did not affect the stay (though we were kinda excited about the fire pit when it cooled off at night). Home was very clean and well stocked in terms of dishes, kitchenware, etc. Hosts communicated very well. Would definitely recommend to families and groups.

The property was as advertised. This was a wonderful location for our family to get away and relax. We ended up staying at the property the complete trip so can't comment on the surrounding areas. We enjoyed the pool and the kids enjoyed the playground which was just enough for them. The kitchen was great for us to cook meals and the rooms equipped with all we needed.

From the open living spaces, to the bedroom space, to the great backyard, had a great time! There were many appliances, pots and pans, and gadgets in the kitchen. The pool had great toys and inflatables as well. Thank you for the great stay!!!

This house was a perfect family getaway. Totally stocked, clean, and well done, but also very comfortable and casual enough for a family with young kids. Communication was top notch. We have already booked our second stay!

We had a fantastic stay. The hot tub was sparkling and hot when we arrived, and the house was clean and inviting. The most attractive feature for us was the kitchen, with it's huge island and open concept. A great place for several couples to gather. There was a maintenance problem with one of the showers, but the management is addressing it. High marks overall, we will be back!

Wonderful property in beautiful location. Easy access to the best vineyards around. Kitchen had every utensil one could hope for. Fire pits were a great place for us to end each day. Property Manager answered all question right away. Perfect place for our fall visit!

The house is great for a large group or family stay. The property is beautiful with great amenities like the pool and hot tub.

We enjoyed the property and had a very nice time. The porch light was burnt out and a light on the back porch came on at night sometimes other times not. No big issue but wanted to make you aware. Also the driveway could certainly use some repair.

Really great house with spectacular outdoors, with beautiful grassy grounds, a private playground, a large swimming pool and a hot tub. The indoor space is also very comfortable. All in, a great property!

10 of us stayed in this lovely home for the Santa Rosa Ironman race and Mother’s Day. It was close to Lake Sonoma and part of the bike route. We had 4 kids 4-9 yrs and they loved the play area and the lawn as well as the swimming pool. The guys were very happy to have the hot tub to jump into after 140.6 miles of exercise! We made 2 dinners and Mother’s Day breakfast and had everything we needed! Beds were slightly more firm than we were used to. We had a wonderful time and we would do it again. You won’t regret coming to this property.

Great house and property-we would, and will, return again in the future

What a great venue to spend a girls weekend! We really enjoyed the large kitchen and open floor plan. The outdoor area was fantastic both during the day and evening...the pool, hot tub, outdoor theatre and fire pits! We had such a great time!

We rented this home for a family getaway to celebrate two big birthdays. We had family traveling from Humboldt County, East Bay area, and south bay, and the location is perfectly centrally located for us to meet. The home is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice. It is very kid-friendly. My nephews (3 & 5) absolutely LOVED the bunk beds, the play structure and the large lawn and hills to run around and explore. The favorite, however, was by far the hot tub! As the resident family chef, I couldn't have been happier (and more jealous!) of the beautiful, HUGE, kitchen! I had a blast taking advantage of all of that counter space. We enjoyed lounging by the fire pits in the back yard and watching the sunset from the porch swing in the front. Given the location, the generous space to accommodate an extended family of 10, and the many, many fantastic amenities, this home is surely one we will revisit time and again.

My extended family of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids) just got back from a 4 night stay at Starling's Rest. A beautiful property. The amenities were top notch. The kids enjoyed staying in one room and the open living space was great. We enjoyed the outdoor theater, but it was too cold and rainy to enjoy the pool. Only issue was the wifi was extremely slow to be unusable (I clocked it at less than 1 mbs). Would definitely stay again, especially when the weather is warmer.
