We spent 9 days in Solana Beach with our adult son. It was a great place to stay, a wonderful way to enjoy the ocean. The location is very convenient, a quiet location but close to San Diego and other larger cities. We would love to stay there again.

After flying into the San Diego airport and seeing the homeless/drug crisis, it was refreshing to see an immaculately maintained, secured property. This residence had all the amenities of home. It was stocked with the little extras that you always forget to pack. Having a laundry facility on site made it easy too. We made the most delicious steaks on the charcoal grill. They only complaint would be the family room furniture. When you come home from sight seeing, walking the beach, climbing the hundreds of stairs….everyone wants to stretch out and prop their feet up. The couch is extremely uncomfortable. But we knew that before we went because the pictures showed this. The Del Mar area seemed to be very safe. There were a few panhandlers as you exited the highway, but none laying on the streets of the city. You could walk freely and safely. This area has a lot to do. I would highly recommend this location and condo. Please be aware that there are MANY FLIGHTS OF STAIRS to get down to the ocean. And 3 flights to get up to this condo.

Hosts were super easy to work with. The location is beautiful, just steps to the beach. Porch views amazing. Also, so many good areas to eat around Solana. Location is away from busy down town San Diego but easy to drive there, takes about 18 minutes. The pool was heated and the hot tub was so nice as well.

The condo was located in a great spot and close to the beach. It was very clean and had everything we needed.

Staying here was a good experience. The host was accommodating with our requests. This is a good quality vacation home, well stocked. We cooked our Christmas dinner for our extended family with no issues. Comfortable accommodations. We would stay there again, for sure.

One of the best overall VRBO experiences I've had! The communication was good from the first inquiry and throughout the stay. Place was clean and prefect for what we needed. The condo is in a secured community with a great location and a short walk to the beach. Solana Beach is a cliff beach setting and that's what makes it beautiful so there is a staircase to get there, but nothing like a little exercise to breath in the fresh ocean air. Experienced an amazing sunset our last night sitting out on the patio that overlooks the ocean. I would highly recommend it!

Great location and wonderful views. We could sit on the deck in the morning and see the ocean and the surfers while drinking our coffee. The hot tub overlooks the ocean. The beach was wonderful and easy to access from the property. Will stay there again!!

Had a very nice stay here. Great location for beach, restaurants, walking. You can walk for miles in each direction on the beach when the tide is out. The stairs & the path behind the condo are public so quite busy but not overwhelmingly so. Very close to the dog beach at Del Mar. If you’re not thrilled with stairs it’s a short walk down the street to the dog beach & over the bridge to Del Mar. Good views of the ocean from the balcony & living room. Spent hours just watching the surfers. A few dolphin sightings too. Our weather while there was unusually cloudy & overcast but it made for good walks & a few sunny days to lounge on the beach.

Lovely condo, maybe 100 feet from the access to the ocean. The access included five flights of well maintained stairs to the beach. Pool and jacuzzi overlook the ocean. Quite condo area with many full time owners. Very friendly. Restaurants and shops a short walk away. I vasillated between a four and five star rating because the condo itself had plumbing problems. The owner had signs up warning us not to use the garbage disposal. The owner had such a fine screen in the drain, the water would back up and was slow to drain. Besides that, the master bathroom had a bueatiful double shower but it had a SLOW, SLOW drain. By the end of the shower, you were ankle deep in water.... Not so nice. It would take quite a long time (30 minutes) for the water to thouroghly drain for the next person.

We stayed for a week and made it work for us. The property and location are beautiful. I was surprised by so many 5 star reviews, although I tend to always leave them as well. I just can’t this time. The first thing my husband had to do was clean out the garbage disposal by hand because the water was backing up. Mind you, none of what he cleaned came from us which made it more more unpleasant. Then next thing he did was untangle 10 different wires and figure out how to get the tv to work in the kids room. The coffee maker and bbq haven’t been cleaned in ages, but there was also no propane in the bbq. Being on the beach we expected access to a vacuum, but there wasn’t one to be found so had to borrow my sister’s who lives in Carlsbad and return it before we left. We had our 4 & 7 year olds with us so there was a lot of sand! They couldn’t take a bath though because there was no bath plug. Couldn’t do any laundry because there was no way to get into the laundry room with the key provided. There are also typed up notes taped everywhere and there was nowhere to put any of our pantry items. A previous tenant made this same comment and the owner replied there is a hall closet but this closet was completely locked up. I had to rearrange things to get a little space in the cabinet. The closet in the second bedroom is also locked up and the closet in the master is totally full with maybe 4 hangers. The hand soap and windex had so much water added them they were virtually useless. The only extra blanket was a scratchy wool throw and the master bed mattress is so broken down that I felt I would roll onto the floor sometimes. My tip would be to bring your own everything, although it really don’t think it should be this way. We didn’t feel that welcome and definitely could tell the owner/property manager really doesn’t care that much about making sure you have things you’ll need to be comfortable. If you want a great location and don’t care about these things this place is great but wouldn’t recommend if you have small children.

Pictures don’t do justice. Amazing views 200 steps and your in the ocean! Will definitely book again for our next vacation! Very easy to get around 15 min from sea world and the zoo.

We had a great time because of the location. We wouldn’t choose to stay in this condo again. Te view of the ocean is available only in certain positions in the living room and a sliver of a view from the very small balcony.

The location is amazing-right by the beach and close to the pool. Good amount of beach stuff available with limited towels. There were very a very Limited number of towels and no extra sheet. There also isn’t heat in the main area so dining and watching TV was chilly. I found the instruction to get into and out of the garage confusing.

Condo was just as advertised. Owner was easily contacted and responsive. It was well equipped with anything for cooking. Also lots of beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys.

Our family enjoyed staying at this lovely condo in Solana Beach. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. The location was ideal for exploring the coastline. Lots of beautiful beaches nearby. There are many shops and restaurants within a mile or two. The only disappointment was the pool and Jacuzzi were under construction.

Condo was great, just be mindful that it is is a third-floor walk-up. Lots of stairs to the unit as well the cliff stairs to the beach. Avoid beach stairs, drive to nearby state park. Owner was always available and responsive.

We had a great time at this property. Just as described and the owner made sure we had everything we needed. Steps to the beach and a short walk to shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

Renting was easy. Only “complaint” was that there was no pantry storage area to put our food so it sat on the counter.

Great spot for a relaxing family vacation. Easy beach access and not crowded. Solana Beach is a hidden gem with super soft sand. We loved every second.

Ideal if you're looking for a quieter, family friendly beach.

Great property, greater location. View shown is from front porch, and great to hear and watch surf, surfers, dogs and sunsets. Easy walk to Cedros Ave or Del Mar Beach. Incredibly convenient parking spot in garage. Quiet, considering location. Very safe, secure complex. Access to beach simple, but steep. Many of the appliances updated, both showers with dependable hot water and pressure. WiFi worked well, every streaming platform you could want without live cable, so we could experience “cut the cable” lifestyle. Very good value. Although never met them, owners very responsive to booking process and questions.

Had a wonderful stay with my college-aged son. We enjoyed every minute. The condo, property and location were all fantastic and the views from both the balcony, pool/sitting area were as amazing as advertised. Being connected to the stairway down to the beach was a huge advantage to almost any other spot in the area. My son enjoyed the terrific surf conditions every day. Having the outdoor shower when re-entering the property was great.Condo was clean and had everything needed, including beach chairs & towels. It's a quiet, gated property which was perfect for us.I would absolutely stay in this unit again.

We were so fortunate to get to stay for a long 3.5 months at this beautiful home as we moved cross country. The two bedroom is very spacious and you cannot beat the views. Literally from the couch you see the ocean. It was beyond peaceful and the best location in San Diego.Neighbors here are also just awesome — It is a walk up so for anyone who can’t climb stairs be mindful that you will need to .. and the beach is down the cliff ... a fabulous way to exercise each day. Climbing the stairs from the beach will definitely be memorable. We seek it out each day now. Was truly spectacular.Thank you Barbara for such a Heavenly stay.
